With a graceful leap, she flew and arrived near the statue’s head, staring at the person above it with an unamused expression on her face.

“Mingzhi, do you want to be yelled at by the others?”

“Don’t be so stiff, Fiora.” Mingzhi couldn’t help but grin, “I’m sure he would like me on his head.”

Fiora’s cheeks produced a blush as she waved her hand, “I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about others misunderstanding that you’re being disrespectful to Davis.”

“I’m not.” Mingzhi swaggered as she stood up, pointing at Fiora with a stubborn face, “You’re all just needlessly stiff when it comes to him.”

“No, you’re just frivolous.”

Fiora retorted, causing Mingzhi to clench her teeth before she smiled, “Then why don’t you come and stand here?”

“Huh…?”

Fiora let out a sound of bewilderment before she shook her head.

“I promise. It feels good to be on top of him…”

Mingzhi grinned, her words filled with another meaning that caused Fiora to blush a bit more, and as though being tempted, she looked around, and confirming that no one was there, she slowly moved towards Mingzhi and descended on top of the statue’s head.

“It… it does feel good…”

Fiora’s smile was twisted, seemingly looking like having done something blasphemous yet enjoying it.

“Sheehe~”

Looking at Fiora, Mingzhi sneakily giggled, her eyes flashing in a dark light since she had an accomplice now.

Fiora lurked on Davis’s head, seemingly experiencing something she had never experienced before when she suddenly recognized an Imagery Stone in Mingzhi’s hand. Her pupils dilated as she jumped.

“Ah, Mingzhi! What’re you doing!?”

She hurriedly appeared before Mingzhi, but the Imagery Stone was thrown back into a spatial ring by Mingzhi, causing Fiora to become stunned before her expression became tearful.

“You… you set me up…”

“Fourth sister, if you don’t want this projection to be spread, then obediently become my little sister.”

Mingzhi smiled like a fiend, causing Fiora to clench her teeth, “Mingzhi, you win this time. It won’t be long before I make you swallow defeat!~”

“Hehe~ I’m waiting~” Mingzhi’s voice melodiously echoed, her gaze turning towards the distance, “But still, isn’t he too late? Third sister is going to give birth soon, and the others have already come out of seclusion to celebrate this joyous occasion. However, he’s still secluded in that Golden Palace and Hundred Devil Thunder Archipelago like some mountain turtle, always either cultivating, learning and researching, and making pills.”

“Indeed, the only time husband showed up here was to allocate some resources and spend some time with Sophie and Niera as they came out of seclusion a month ago. Fiora pursed her lips, her expression a bit forlorn.

Mingzhi sighed while Fiora agreed as they smiled at each other when suddenly a voice echoed.

“Yeah, I’m sorry for uttering those sweet whispers. I won’t say it again for you two.”

Fiora and Mingzhi almost jumped, swiveling their heads towards the voice that seared into their hearts.

“Husband!~” Fiora called out coyly before her expression became meek, suddenly realizing that she had been standing on his head all this time, “I mean… I miss those sweet whispers.”

“That’s right.” Mingzhi smiled blankly, “Blow some wind to my ear, and I’ll take it as a sweet whisper…”

Davis’s brows couldn’t help but twitch before he cast a look at the palace. While he did so, Fiora and Mingzhi’s expression was slightly bewildered as their eyes scanned Davis. There was some strange unapproachable vibe that he gave them, as though he was too high and mighty.

Fiora lowered her head, thinking that Davis was angry. However, Mingzhi sweetly smiled and neared him, placing a hand on his chest as she stuck her curvy body to him while turning his chin towards her.

“Davis, you’ve become stronger…”

Their gaze was interlocked, seemingly in a trance as Mingzhi slowly lowered her hand from his chest, near to his lower body. Looking at it, Fiora’s mouth went slightly agape, realizing that Mingzhi gained one over her again.

“…!”

She almost fumed, but then she suddenly saw an obsidian dagger appear in Mingzhi’s hand as she drove it towards his dantian.

Davis waved his hand, causing the obsidian dagger to be struck away from Mingzhi’s hand. However, Mingzhi seemed to have expected it and instantly retreated, standing beside Fiora.

“Mingzhi, what are you doing? You’re going too far-“

“Stay back.”

Mingzhi raised her hand, keeping Fiora behind as she made her startled. On the other hand, Mingzhi herself was shaken, seemingly taking a deep breath as she composed herself.

“Davis doesn’t give off this kind of unapproachable aura. Who are you?”

“Wha-“

Fiora became dumbfounded, looking between Davis and Mingzhi in confusion. What was going on?

“Well,” Davis raised his head as he gave off a cold smirk, “Understandable, I guess.”

“Bastard…”

Mingzhi clenched her teeth as her expression became enraged, while Fiora’s expression also became pale. Did something happen to Davis? But at this moment, they saw someone appear beside Davis. She wore a purple robe, her countenance and beauty bringing delight and security to their hearts. However, Mingzhi couldn’t help but open her mouth.

“Evelynn, watch out! He’s not Davis!”

However, despite Mingzhi’s words, Evelynn flew straight to Davis and pasted her body on him as she kissed him heavily as though asserting dominance.

Mingzhi emitted a strange sound, looking at this scene in disbelief.

Mingzhi felt like she couldn’t retort that statement, while Fiora couldn’t help but dryly smile.

“Mingzhi, I think you were mistaken a bit…”

“You…” But Mingzhi suddenly raised her hand, pointing at Evelynn, “Weren’t you said to be possessed by the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Empress? I can’t believe your words right now. Davis, did you go meet that entity? Are you perhaps possessed by some other hidden entity? Your aura is… no longer the same.”

Mingzhi remained cautious, seemingly directing a hostile intent towards Davis and Evelynn, causing them to smile ever so lightly. However, Evelynn furrowed her brows as she turned to look at Davis.

“Now that I sense properly, your aura has drastically changed. Did something happen?”

Evelynn knew that Davis had been absorbing heavenly lightning, but that shouldn’t be enough to change his intrinsic aura drastically, right? She asked herself.

Davis let go of Evelynn’s waist and approached Mingzhi, causing her to become stiff as she found herself unable to move. Sweat appeared on her forehead when suddenly his face was right in front of hers.

“If you wanted to distract and assassinate me on suspicion of being another person, why did you go for my lower dantian? Normally, wouldn’t you target the forehead to take out the soul?”

Mingzhi trembled under his heavy gaze that weighed like a mountain on her, almost making her feel like she wouldn’t make out of this alive. However, her lips curved into a forced smirk as she snarled at him.

“That’s because the strange aura is coming from your Essence Gathering Cultivation. I thought destroying it might reveal your true self or even cause the suppressed Davis to regain control of his body again.”

Davis abruptly threw his head up and laughed out loud, causing Mingzhi to become dumbfounded.

Davis’s laughter died as he lifted both his arms, black-silver lightning strands and dark crimson flame wisps surging from his right and left palms as they surrounded him.
