Chapter 1023
Summon Of The Sword
River City, CIA.
After a long wait, James finally met Damian.
Ever since the incident, James had been trying to make up for it.
However, he dared not let headquarters discover what had happened, so he could not use Souz Riverâs connections either.
Even if he had contacted Cameron, it would not have made any difference with Colton involved.
Therefore, James decided to go with River City after thinking it through.
As director of the River City CIA, Damian was influential.
Things would not go wrong by choosing him.
âDirector Wool, I had someone buy some coffee beans for you.
âItâs nothing too fancy. Take it.
James slowly reached over and pushed a beautifully wrapped box of coffee beans up to Damian.
He came to see Damian today, and his assistant guards were all waiting outside.
However, Damian brought an assistant.
Therefore, there were only three of them in the room.
âMr. Thomson, I donât drink coffee.
âLetâs just get down to business.â
Without so much a glance, Damian asked his assistant to push the coffee beans back in front of James.
âDirector Wool, youâre alienating yourself.
âYouâve made a lot of effort to get River City business circle to the size and stability it has now.
Iâve only gotten you some imported coffee beans as a gift.
âTheyâre nothing fancy.â
James smiled and tried to push the coffee beans back.
âIf Iâm right, itâs probably not coffee beans in there?â
Damian asked indifferently as he pressed his hand on the box.
âNo, no, no. Itâs only coffee beansâ¦â
Without a change in expression, James answered with a smile.
Without further ado, Damian picked up the box and slowly dumped its contents onto the table.
âHey, Director Woolâ¦â
James tried to stop him, but it was too late.
The contents of the coffee bean box had been emptied.
There was a bank card with the PIN on the back and a Rolex watchâa limited edition green.
Submariner.
The bank account probably contained at least a million dollars.
âThese beans are much fancier than you said.
âMr. Thomson, are you trying to give me trouble?â
Smiling slowly, Damian reached out and pushed the box and everything back.
James dared not give him the things again this time.
âLetâs stop there if thereâs nothing else. I have work to do.â
Damian got up slowly as he was about to leave.
âDirector Wool, hold on. Hold on a minuteâ¦â
James had no choice but to behave humbly and beg Damian.
Damian gave James a meaningful glance.
He would not even meet James if Sean had not instructed him to do so.
Since Sean had plans, Damian could only play along.
âDirector Wool, I wonât say much about the rest.
âPlease give me some tips.â
James sounded humble.
âI donât have any tips.
âBut I can give you some advice.â
Damian was silent for two seconds before slowly sitting again.
âDirector Wool, go ahead!â
James was delighted as he quickly pushed the things on the table forward again.
âTake them away. Iâll give you some advice.â
Damian did not give James a chance to suck up to him.
âYes, yes, yesâ¦â
James dared not waste time. He sat straight and listened attentively.
Damian and Jamesâ conversation lasted about 20 minutes.
No one knew what they talked about.
Damian even asked his assistant to leave.
However, James did not look very well when he walked out of the room.
Jon and Quill rushed to meet him.
âMr. Thomson, how was it? What did Director Wool say?â
Jonâs eyes were full of worry.
They were more anxious than James right now!
If JenâBond Holdings failed to establish itself in River City, it would lose nothing more than some money and manpower.
The most James would get was a scolding, but he would still be a senior executive.
However, Jon was different.
Jon risked everything he had on this plan.
Whether the Zimmer family could turn their fate around depended on whether JenâBond Holdings could conquer River City!
If something went wrong, Jon would have to pay off hundreds of millions of dollars of debt, let alone turn his fate around.
âItâs hard! Itâs really hard this time.â
Jarnes glanced at Jon and shook his head slightly.
However, there was something meaningful in the way he looked at Jon. It was as if he was hiding something from Jon.
