Chapter 1220
Summon Of The Sword
The young man ran over and turned to look at Tygaâs men and the developerâs staff.
âF*ck off!
âIf word of this got out, youâll bear the consequences yourself.â
The man said, and the crowd shuddered before nodding repeatedly.
Soon more than half of the crowd left.
The only ones left were Sean, government officials like Mr. Evans, and the rest.
âHe killed Tyga, sir.
âAnd now he wants to kill me.â
Mr. Evans pointed at Sean with a sneer.
âHe wants to kill you?â
The man asked with a frown.
âYes!
âHow should we convict him?â
Mr. Evans chuckled, his face smug.
âIf he wants to cut you, why donât you clean your neck and stretch it for him?â
Mr. Evans and the rest froze as soon as the man said that.â
âWhat did that mean?
Is he asking Mr. Evans to offer himself?
âIs he serious?â
What happened next surprised them.
The man stepped forward and looked at Sean.
âCo⦠Brother Sean!â
The man shouted, shocking everyone.
The manâs status was above that of Mr. Evans and the rest.
However, they did not expect him to respectfully call Sean âBrotherâ as soon as he saw him.
âRay?â
Zander raised his eyebrows slightly and mentioned a name as he looked at the man.
âBrother Zander, itâs meâ¦â
The man nodded and answered.
His name was Ray Simmons, and he was once a member of the personal guards.
Zander even saw him off when he was discharged.
However, they never expected him to end up doing this after leaving the army.
âGulp.â
Mr. Evans gulped, his eyes widening.
âAre Sean and the others Rayâs friends?
âNo wonder they were so confident!â
âAre you a part of this?â
Sean asked indifferently, looking at Ray.
Ray was silent for two seconds before nodding and replying in acknowledgment again.
Sean asked if he was involved, not how much he was involved.
He could only answer truthfully.
He did not have the guts to lie to Sean.
âYou held the candle to the devil and bullied civilians, even your former comrade.
âYou really did a good job.â
Rayâs head buzzed when Sean spoke.
His mouth moved to explain, but he did not know how.
âIâll give you two minutes to explain.â
Sean slowly covered the sword with the cloth.
âBrother Sean, I have no choiceâ¦â
Ray was silent for a long pause before finally speaking.
Because he knew Sean was not asking for an explanation but confirming his attitude on the matter.
The outside world was unlike the army.
Everyone in the army would share food from the same pot. They would not fight over money. All they had was their comradeship.
Food, clothing, shelter, and transportation were all provided by Dragon Kingdom.
However, you could not escape money if you wanted to survive the outside world.
It was a long story.
Sean glanced intently at Ray and eventually said nothing more.
After all, this was not the army.
He was no longer a nineâstar commander.
He was helpless in many things too.
âTheyâre Patrickâs family.
âDo you know that?â
Sean asked indifferently, pointing to Sally and the rest.
âWhat?â
Ray instantly turned to look at Sally and her family.
He had no idea.
After all, there were so many residents around here, and he was not responsible for the development.
He only assisted the developer. He did not know the residentsâ information.
However, he had nothing to say in defense.
As a former comrade, he failed to take care of Patrickâs family, so it was his fault.
âAunt Connie, just tell me any requests you have, and Iâll talk to the developer.â
Ray stepped forward and asked Connie.
Connie and Sally were nervous. They dared not ask Ray for anything.
It was not until they saw the look in Seanâs eyes that they mustered the courage.
âWe just want to be compensated according to normal standards.
âAnd Patrickâs graveâ¦â
Connie slowly turned her head to look at Patrickâs grave.
âI see.
âLeave it all to me.â
Ray nodded. These things were not difficult for him.
âIâll take them away first.
âYou know what to do.â
With that said, Sean, Sally, and her family prepared to leave.
âBrother Sean, this is my contact information. Call me if you need anything.â
Ray hurried forward and gave Sean his phone number.
âOkay.
Sean answered and led his men away, with everyone watching.
Connie and Sally were still dumbfounded.
âAre they gone just like that?
âDoesnât Sean have to take any responsibility for the murder?â
