Your hair's grown a little longer

Your arms look a little stronger

Your eyes just as I remember

Your smile's just a little softer

My heart didn't prepare me for what my brain already knew, the minute my eyes met her icy glaciers I knew my heart beat for Paige Bueckers. Even after all these years of pretending to hate her, i knew it was never true-.

"Hey! Let me grab your bags i'll put them on the trunk!" Azzi smiles grabbing my luggage's from me, "This is all you got?" She questions referring to the three bags i had.

"I travel light.." I chuckle nervously bitting at my chipped nails, "plus i figured it would be easier to buy stuff here then lug it."

"Well, we can go shopping together tomorrow! — and god knows how much gear Geno and the staff will give you!" Azzi smiles pulling me into a tight hug before walking to pack my bags.

"You dyed your hair—" Paige choked making me look up at the taller blonde.

"well thanks Sherlock Holmes.. What about it?" I nod expressionless.

"Your eyes- darker hair brings them out." Paige gives me a small smile before pointing to my Iowa sweatshirt, "that's gotta change."

"Sorry Bueckers i didn't have time to take a pit stop at the Uconn fan club store before walking off the plane." I joked picking up my bag and putting it over my shoulder, "and even if i did — they wouldn't have a Midow jersey just yet"

"I dunno JJ, a Bueckers jersey would suit you so well.." She smirks jokingly.

That damn smirk.

"You're so full of yourself" I roll my eyes.

"Still got that sense of humor huh."

"Something's never change" I give her a small smile before softly shoving past her to get into the car, "Unlike you." with that i closed the door.

"I told you you should have brought more stuff— i would have paid for the extra bag for you." Caitlin sighed over facetime as I made my bed.

"I don't need more stuff" I groan folding my blanket, "the pictures i brought are enough and ..." I hold up my lion teddy bear i've had since i was little, "and Kenny is here— what else do i need?"

Settling into a new apartment was much easier said than done — expcially when I barely have anything besides clothes, bedding, and some pictures.

Caitlin chuckles on the other end of the phone shaking her head, "Listen JJ I—"

"Hey Azzi made grilled cheese if you — shit sorry i should have knocked.." Paige walked in before covering her mouth self consciously, "I'm sorry i didn't realize—"

I pick up my phone and nod to Caitlin signaling the "hey i gotta go" look as i hung up the phone, "no your good— just caitlin checking in ." I smile nodding towards the girl awkwardly.

"Kenny? You still got this little guy" Paige chuckles picking Kenny up before i snatch him away from her, "Hey!"

"You know how Kenny is—" I shake my head petting his head before letting out a small giggle, "he's gotta come everywhere with me."

Paige looks down at me and smiles before shaking her head looking up at my pictures I had hung up on my walls, "This is my favorite picture of you—"

I turn towards where she was pointing to as it was a picture of me on the first day of USA try outs.

"Really? why?"

"That was the day we met— do you..." She trails looking down at her hands.

"Paige.."

"Do you ever regret—"

"PAIGE — JENNA THE TEAMS HERE!" Azzi screams from the kitchen.

"Anyways.." I let out a shaky breath before walking past the blonde

"Anyways.."

"JENN LETS MAKE A TIK TOK!" KK screams jumping up from the couch after stalking my tik tok.

"I'm starting to think it was a bad idea telling her i liked to do tik tok dances" I chuck taking another bite of the grilled cheese before KK takes my hand and props up the phone.

"Paige cmon come do this with us!" KK smiles before starting the count down.

"Woah woah i'm coming!" Paige chuckles shoving in between KK and I.

'So darling darling stand by me' the music began.

I chuckle as we move in sync before Paige trips over her own feet towards the end, her hands immediately latching onto my waist to keep her upright making the three of us laugh.

"That's going on the main P— i can't how did you even trip?! Jenna you are my next bestfriend" KK holds her stomach laughing while her arm wraps around me as Paige shakes her head.

"Nah Nah— Jenn tripped me that's no fair"

"Paige I was barely NEAR you!" I laugh, "Your just embarrassed!"

"Nah Paige Bueckers doenst get embarrassed."

"Wait J— you say you known Paige since USA games right?" Nika smirks before getting up to take a seat next to me.

"Yeah why?"

"PLEASE tell me you have embarrassed pictures of her when she was a string bean!" Nika laughs calling over Ice, "ICE COMME HERE!"

"You wouldn't!" Paige warns as she stands across the room with a playstation controller in her hand.

I squint my eyes before taking out my phone making the team squeal.

"JENNA!" Paige yells running over to grab my phone before Azzi and KK hold her back, "Jenna you know i have worse of you!"

"Show us! Show us now!" Nika smiles putting her head on my shoulder as i scroll through my camera roll.

"OH here's one of her —" I smile handing Nika the phone has she gasps before laughing her ass off..

"JENNA!"
