"I don't know John— it's looking like to me Paige  stepped into this one for her teammate, the tech on herself getting a very unhappy coach from Geno."

"I think there should be no tech regardless Tim, Gonzaga's guards have been beating Midow all game and the refs refuse to see it. If i was Paige i would be like take a piece of me too — it's good leadership on this Uconn defense.."

Jenna

I give a tight lipped smile as I walk over to Caitlin and Kate who waited for me after the game.

Avoiding Paige's gaze as she signs autographs and takes pictures with fans, I give Caitlin a tight hug.

"25 points Kiddo— i'm so proud of you.."

"Could have been more if they didn't decide to sit me" I groan rolling my eyes as my hands tug at my backpack straps.

"They were guarding you too heavy.. and after Paige's... stunt, they would have ran you into the ground, probably to avoid getting Paige foul trouble — Geno needed to sit you for the rest of the 4th." Kate nods squeezing my shoulder softly, "You did great, don't be too hard on yourself.."

"I just can't believe she got a tech..." I shake my head in disbelief as i look over my shoulder at the blonde.

"I would too, fuck— they were pushing you around like a rag doll and she was tired of it, not to mention the fact that they heckled the shit out of her, she had enough and put in her own word.. you can't be mad at her because of it JJ.."

"She could have been thrown out if she threw a punch Cait— i didn't ask her to do what she did."

"But she did JJ.." Caitlin sighs, "and it's not just because your her teammate, you have to understand— shoving you and pushing you down is one thing, something i would understand would be unnecessary if she had jumped in— but they started making that shit personal, not to just you, but her too..." She gives me a soft smile as my eyes linger towards Paige. "I'm going to grab the car, maybe we can go get some Pizza for old time sake?"

"I'm starving!" Kate laughs handing Caitlin her keys are she jogs towards the door..

"You're going to have to talk to her Jenn.." Kate sighs looking down at me.

"and say what? Oh thanks buddy for the tech you got yourself for me— so romantic!" I fake acting bubbly as i swoon.

"I mean— it's a rocky start but sure?" Kate laughs as i push her shoulder away from me, "Go get your girl Midow... Don't let her slip through your fingers." She gave me a reassuring nod and she pulls me into a tight hug, "You simply amaze me every day— remember that" She whispers kissing the side of my head softly as she pulls away form me, her hand lingering in mine as she gives me a soft squeeze before letting go.

"What if i'm wrong..." I sigh, "what if she just walks away.."

"She'd be stupid to walk away from a girl like you—"

As I turn to find the gym empty and Paige walking out of the back door.

"What are you waiting for— go!" Kate chuckled pushing me towards the door as i nod— chasing after the blonde.

Who would have thought — I would be chasing Paige... Seems like things never change.

"PAIGE!" I yell pushing open the door only to be welcomed by heavy raindrops as she turns quickly on her feet — confusion glossed on her face as her hair sticks to her forehead, "why did you do it." My voice blunt as she rolls her eyes before being to walk again.

"Jenna... not right now.." Her voice sounds tired — exhausted even as her blue eyes tell me different, almost begging me to stay.

"No!" my voice shakes,  "Y-you don't get to walk away, you can't walk away— Why did you fucking do it! I didn't ask for you to fight for me!"

"You didn't fucking have to Jenna!" Paige stops turning to me, anger apparent on her face, "I would do it again too— you happy? is that what you wanted?"

"Oh so i'm the bad guy now? I'm the one looked at badly because you decided to bring your emotions on the court!"

"Your so fucking—" She groans, "I was tired of everything — they way they treated you, talked to me! I couldn't fucking take it anymore and i snapped — God don't say i never fucking did anything for you, a simply thank you would be nice"

"Oh your such a —" I laugh at her comment, "Your such an asshole P!"

"Maybe learn to fight your own battles!"

"Once again i never fucking asked you to do what you did in there !"

"AND ONCE AGAIN YOU DIDNT HAVE TO! I WOULD FIGHT FOR YOU— ANY DAY OF THIS DAMN WEEK BECAUSE THATS WHAT GOOD PEOPLE DO WHEN THEY LOVE SOMEONE!" She screams taking a step towards me, i swore i could hear her emotions snap.

A chilling silence grows between us as we stair at eachother trying to find the words to say.

"You don't understand —"

"then help me understand Paige.." I cry shaking my head, my bottom lip stuck between my teeth, "what are we doing..."

"I have no idea what you're talking about.."

"why are you avoiding me like some disease, i'm sick and i'm tired of it a-and then you go and practically risk your name by getting a tech because of me!!" I scream through the distance between us.

Suddenly she chuckles slightly shaking her head.

"What is this some kind of joke to you P?— you know what.." I groan whipping my mater hair from my face as the rain begins to fall harder, "I fucking give up!" I sigh turning back towards the door before her voice stops me,

"Do you know why I've been avoiding you like crazy?" she breathes, i could hear her take a step backwards to increase our distance. "It's because of you. God Jenna i have loved you the minute you walked through the doors of USA camp and crossed me up like it was nobody's business - o-or when Azzi and I picked you up from the airport and your same stupid whitty personality never changed from when were kids. I have loved you ever since we were 15...And i've kicked myself every damn day that i walked out of that bathroom that day" She hakes her head, tears being camouflage by the rain, hitting her face. "I-i tried to find someone better— but they all lead back to you! God Jenna everytime I feel your presence, I start thinking about you every second of every day. You scare me because everytime I look into your eyes, all my feelings for you appear out of the blue and they remind me of how much I crave your presence. How much i crave to be that person you call yours! I'm scared; because everytime I hear you breathe next to me, my hands starts to become clammy and my heart starts beating erratically. Any every time I get close to you, my heart starts falling in love with you piece by piece — and this," she motions between us, "scares the hell out of me."

Raindrops drop from my nose to my lips as i stare into her icy blue eyes, "Paige —"

"I love you."

"Say it again.." I whisper taking a step towards her as i begin to walk in her direction.

"I love you.."

"One more time" I whisper as i grab her face softly looking up at her making her smirk down at me.

"I'm so fucking in love with you Jenna Midow— even though you drive me crazy— I—.."

"Paige—" I began to whisper as she smirks down at me,

"What five star—"

"just shut up and kiss me.."

We both were drenched with rain, but neither of us could care as long as they with each other. I felt Paige chuckle as she cups my cheek with her hand and pulled me in closer to her. We inched closer until our lips finally touched. Neither of us could take it to let go, deepening the kiss until we were fully engulfed. It wasn't until we both needed a breathe that we finally let go releasing a breathe of fresh air.

"I love you too.."
