Nancy Grace and CNN filed motions to dismiss our defamation lawsuit. The Court denied them. Our case goes forward!

But the BIG QUESTION: Who is my son taking to the high school prom?

He's quiet and careful, but I told him to strike early, "As soon as you pick your target, ask her out!"

Ceci

Is he a Junior?

Jack

Yup.

My sisters and their friends spent a lifetime of energy agonizing over all the prom options and politics. Seems like just pulling the trigger and asking a girl to prom early would be a mercy killing.

Ceci

That's cute that they're so into prom.

Jack

Were you?

Ceci

No... I never even went to prom.

Not a lot of school pride or enthusiasm.

Jack

Oh, man!

You got robbed!

The naked injustice!

Ceci

It's sad. I hope my boys have better luck.

Jack

I'm sorry. And yet, despite minor scarring, you have risen and overcome.

Your boys will own the F'n Prom!

Ceci

Isaac will for sure, Charlie will need a push.

Jack

Not a push. Girls are an intoxicating pull.

OK, some are pushy.

It took two girls, one pulling on each arm, for me to dance.

Thank God, Jesus, Buddha, Allah, and the Holy Ghost for girls!!

Hey Ceci, what up? Got a client who may have women buried in his back yard.  Two.

And my daughter is visiting! Woohoo!

Ceci

Hi Jack! Sweet that your daughter is home. Very sweet.

Do you have a mystery on your hands?

Jack

Yeah, on Ruby (Jack's daughter). It's so great!  The absolute greatest and the absolute best to have her home!

The buried women may be hookers killed by bikers.

My client owns the land. He's afraid that the Blue Steel Kings motor cycle gang will kill him if he rats out the burial.

Ceci

Why is he your client? Or maybe I don't want to know.

Jack

I could tell you, but then they would have to kill you, and bury you in his back yard.

The Court appointed me to represent the client on some probation violation problems.  Small potatoes. But during our first interview, Joe Foster, the client, disclosed the buried women detail. Joe is an old guy, early 60s.  Heavy equipment operator. Jittery. Nervous. But a well-worn drug cowboy who would give you the first slice of his birthday cake.

This sounds like Chapter One of a Swedish crime mystery.

The first minutes of a Law And Order episode.

Jack

Yup.

I was also thinking Helter Skelter because the motorcycle gang sends their prostitutes to hang out at Joe's house to keep him happy and to keep an eye on him as they peddle the fruit. Like Charles Manson and the Spahn Ranch girls.

Dear Kelly,

The Defendant is here in Court today with his attorney, Jack Finch. Jack informed me that the Defendant is aware of bodies buried on his property (two) that he thinks he can help law enforcement locate.

Jack is obviously concerned for his client's safety.

I just got off the phone with Detective Balsam about the bodies that may be buried on my client's property. Det. Balsam will be sending you an email momentarily.

My client is willing to meet with your detectives. I have not executed a proffer recently, but thought that may be the best. If you disagree, I am open to considering other suggestions.
