Chapter 452 - Robbery (3)
Genius Summoner
Yun Feng looked at the boundless darkness around her and replied softly, âYun Feng.â
All of a sudden, the darkness in the room was gone. After Yun Feng reported her name, all the facilities in the room appeared as if it were a magic trick. There was a big desk, on which a lot of paper and tools were scattered. There were pieces and rolls of paper too on the ground. All in all, the room seemed quite untidy at first look.
Next to the desk was an enormous chair where an old man was seated, in the middle of all the paper. The old man was wearing a pair of glasses, and drawing something wholeheartedly on the paper in his hand.
Yun Feng was dazed for a moment. She then calmed down and observed everything. Was the old man the person who talked just now? Yun Feng didnât say anything, but simply waited in silence. The old man minded his own business without even looking at Yun Feng, as if he didnât see her at all.
Time went by. Yun Feng didnât know how long she had been standing, or how much longer she had to stand, but she didnât show any impatience or restlessness. She simply stood quietly, and watched the old man move. As she waited, the old man seemed to have completed his work. He raised his head and looked at Yun Feng. Then, he lowered his head and continued working. âYou have remarkable patience.â
Yun Feng smiled. It was truly uncomfortable for her to stand here. The space here was completely different from that outside. The pressure had been increasing as time went by. If she hadnât advanced into the Monarch Level, she wouldâve been worn out already!
The old man ignored Yun Feng again, and focused on his business. Yun Feng continued waiting in silence, and enduring the increasing pressure. A bead of sweat appeared on her forehead. She suddenly clenched her fist, and told herself to carry on!
Time was infinitely lengthened at this moment. Yun Feng felt that days had passed, but the old man was still doing his own business without saying anything. Finally, after she didnât know how long, when she was soaked in sweat, the old man stopped working and looked at the paper he just drew on with satisfaction. âNot bad. Itâs done.â
After the old man said that, all the pressure that Yun Feng felt was gone. She almost collapsed on the floor, but she regained balance and stood steadily. The old man glanced at her and took off his glasses. He asked thoughtfully, âMy gift for you is ready. Do you want it?â The old man waved the paper, and Yun Feng narrowed her eyes.
âTsk, tsk. The two previous visitors both begged me for this, but Iâm giving it to you.â The old man waved his hand, and the paper gradually fell on Yun Fengâs hand. The paper was the finest kraft paper. When Yun Feng saw what the painting was, her eyes widened.
In the corner of the kraft paper, the words âGodsâ Relicsâ had been written. It was a map of the godsâ relics!
Yun Feng read it again in shock. The old man chuckled. âWhat about it? Not bad, huh?â Yes, itâs indeed not bad, but itâs hard to say whether or not the map is true⦠Yun Feng raised her head and chuckled at the old man. âThank you for your generosity, senior. I wonder, what do you want from me in return?â Thereâs no free lunch. Yun Feng was well aware of that. The old man was clearly a weirdo. He certainly was not giving away the map for nothing. When Yun Feng read the map, she realized that she couldnât remember anything on the map, which seemed to contain magic power. What she remembered would be forgotten the next second. This map couldnât be memorized!
The old man was satisfied with Yun Fengâs offer. He nodded and observed her again. Then, light flashed in his eyes. âHow about your Ring of Contract?â
Yun Feng narrowed her eyes. The old man wanted her Ring of Contract? He didnât look like a good guy. She smiled. âIf you know that Iâm a summoner, you must know how important my Ring of Contract is to me. Between a questionable map and my Ring of Contract, which do you think I will choose?â
The old man smiled. âIf you believe in the map, it will be true; if you donât, then itâs false. There are a lot of good stuff in the godsâ relics. Theyâll be enough to make up for the loss of your Ring of Contract. If you miss the opportunity, youâll never have another one.â
Yun Feng narrowed her eyes. The old man moved his hand, and the map in her hand returned to him. âSenior, you cannot claim a Ring of Contract that has an owner.â
The old man chuckled. âThatâs for me to worry about. Do you want to exchange with me or not?â
Yun Feng stood quietly. The map of the godsâ relics was truly important. It would surely help her greatly in the exploration. The old man didnât look like a liar. He had shown that he was quite strong. However, she had to pay her Ring of Contract for the map. She suddenly smiled. She could abandon fortune or power, but she could never abandon her family or friends! Even though Little Fire and Lan Yi were her contracted Magic Beasts, they were friends to her! If someone could abandon their friends, they wouldnât get anything even if they had the map!
âGoodbye.â Yun Feng said that, and was about to turn around. The old man burst into laughter. âYouâre going? If you donât give it to me, then Iâll just take it from you.â
After saying that, the old man raised his hand, restoring the darkness in the room. The familiar pressure fell on the top of Yun Fengâs shoulders again. Her knees were bent, and she felt that she was going to be smashed to the ground. She bit her tongue and stood straight with her head held high, not giving in to the pressure at all!
