chapter 08: Missed you

Parker's POV

"Who could it be at this late night?" Mother mumbles as she tries to get up from the couch when the door bell rings.

We're sitting in the living room while watching some TV program after we ate our dinner. It's been five days since Kaino went to Japan for work and I'm staying at our parents house. That day after sending him, when I arrived here mother and father were so shocked because they didn't expect me here. We didn't inform them beforehand and seeing me coming here with luggage, without Kaino and early in the morning made them worry. But I explained everything to them, regarding Kaino's trip and how he wanted me to stay here until his return. They were so happy that I'm staying with me.

And as per me, though I'm happy being here I can't help but miss Kaino. I'm living with him for only two months but he made a lot of difference in my life. Loosing the person I loved like life made me lifeless person but Kaino helped me to come out of my mistery with his personality. He's not like Zayn at all. Though they're twin brothers, they have a whole lot different personalities.

Kaino is a kind of person who's so calm and understands the situations before he speaks anything. He's very thoughtful, caring and loveable person. With his soothing personality, he's helping me to get better a lot. He's like a cure to my cause. Being with him even for only two months, I have became very accustomed to him. So, from the time I'm here, I'm missing him like crazy and counting the days for his return. Everyday he calls me and talks to me and honestly that's keeping me sane. Just two more days and he'll finally be here.

"Mother, you wait here I'll go and see who is it." I tell her making her sit with a nod as I remove my hands my berry's soft fur.

Berry is the pet my parents got to keep them company. I was playing with him until now and he fell asleep sometime ago. So, I just sat next to him while rubbing his soft skin. I'm in love with this guy, he's so cute and small, very playful but mischievous though. All these days, he made my days better.

When I open the door, my heart literally stops beating as I come face to face with smiling Kaino. I'm utterly shocked seeing him. There are two more days until the scheduled date for his return. I did tell him to come back early if the work finishes before the time and here the thing is he didn't inform me about it. Even in the afternoon when he spoke to me he didn't mention a word about it.

"Kaino!" I call out his name as I stumble onto him and hug him tightly with my hands around his neck. God! I just missed him so bad.

My sudden act might have surprised him because immediately after hugging him, I hear a thud sound when his bag fell to the floor before he became stiff. But I didn't let him go instead I took a jump and wrapped my legs around his waist, locking my feet together. And this time, he hold me so that I wouldn't fall down. Tears sting in my eyes as I finally have him in my hands.

"Parker, what's wrong?" He queries worriedly as he rubs my back gently.

I don't answer him anything rather I just shake my head which is nestled in between his shoulder and neck implying it's nothing. There's nothing wrong, I'm so happy that he's here and it's making me speechless, unable to form words.

"What happened, Parker? Who's..." I hear mother's voice asking about what's happening but she stops her question in mid sentence, maybe after seeing the situation by herself.

"Oh! Kaino, you're here?" She asks him, surprised by seeing him here.

"Yes, mother. Work got over before time." He answers her while still standing at the door and I show no signs for getting down, "did something happen to Parker?"

"No, Kaino. He's fine all these days, maybe he's surprised and got emotional seeing you . Nothing is wrong, I believe." Mother replies to Kaino's question and I feel him nodding his head at her, "let's get going inside, Kaino."

When mother says to get inside, Kaino goes to put me down but I tighten my hold on him, not wanting to get down. He stays stoic, not moving at all and then I hear father's voice saying, "I'll get the bags, Kaino. You just go inside."

After hearing that he just carries me as he walks inside. Maybe he was worried about the bag but now that father agreed to carry, he walks in.

"Where is his room?" He asks them as he doesn't know where my room is.

"The one at the right side, follow me." Father replies and then I feel Kaino moving again.

I assume that as father is carrying the bags, he's showing the room to Kaino.

"Do you like to eat dinner, Kaino?" Father queries Kaino after walking and stopping in their steps, so I think we're already in my room.

"No, father. I already ate in the flight." Kaino answers to father.

"Okay, then, take rest. Good night." Father bids goodnight and few seconds later I hear the sound of door closing.

Kaino takes few more steps before I feel him sitting on the bed.

"Parker, is there anything wrong?" He questions again and I slowly pull away from his neck to look at him.

He has this worried expression in his eyes and he tucks few strands of my hair behind my ear when they fall on my face.

"I missed you, Kaino." I respond as a tear cascades from my eyes to down my cheek.

"I missed you too, Parker. But I'm here now, am I not?" He calms me while wiping the tears, "sorry for not informing about my early visit, I just wanted to surprise you."

"That's fine, your plan worked very well. I'm just shocked seeing you because I was expecting you in the next two days." I state and sniff before a small growl sounds in the room.

"What's that?" I mumble thinking maybe it's berry but he was already sleeping.

"Just a minute." Kaino mutters before he places me on the bed and walks to the study table where his bag is seated.

He bends down and lifts up a bag but I couldn't see it well until he turns around and that when I find it's not a bag but a carrier. He walks to me with the carrier in his hands in which there's one cute puppy resting as it curiously looks around the room. When Kaino reaches the bed, he settles in front of me and unzips the carrier. The puppy dives forward and I immediately carry him in my hands.

"Kaino, what is this?" I inquire while I involve myself in staring at the puppy.

It's so cute and chubby, it's fur so soft and delicate.

"That's a present for you, I got it from Japan." He answers me and I watch him surprised.

"You bought this for me?" I ask and he nods an yes, "but how? How can you bring from Japan? Is that even ossible?"

"Yeah, I paid extra at the transportation and all the fees and payments which were required. I followed the whole procedure." He replies with a smile as he strokes the puppy.

"So, it's mine?" I query, excited to have a puppy for myself.

"Yeah, he's yours." He confirms.

"But how did you think of bringing this for me?" I ask because I didn't expect a puppy from him.

I already said I don't want anything when he asked me what should he get for me from Japan. I knew he would obviously bring something but a puppy is totally unexpected.

"When we talked on the phone on the first day, you said that our parents got a pet for themselves and you liked him alot. Now that you're here, you'll play with him but when we get back to our home what would you do then? You can't take him with you because parents brought him for themselves, that wouldn't be nice anyway. So, I thought if we have one of our own it would be good. He would be with you all the time so you will not feel alone. Also, you seemed to like the idea of having a pet so I thought why not and bought him immediately when I saw pets adoption center in Japan. I liked him for the first time I saw him and thought you would like him as well." He explains.

He's so thoughtful, isn't he? Just because I said I liked the puppy and felt good being with him, he brought one for me.

"Thank you, Kaino. I love him already." I tell heartfully while rubbing the puppy's soft tummy.

"What do you want to name him?" He asks in anticipation.

I take a minute to think about it before I say, "pup?"

"Pup?" He repeats kinda surprised by the name I came up with.

"Yeah, he's like our baby and a new addition to our family. So, I think it suits him. You don't like it?" I tell him the reason why I choose the name and curiously wait for him to say if he likes it or not.

"That's cool, I like it." He accepts instantly, liking my idea and I smile at him with a nod.

"Wait, why didn't mother and father say anything when they saw the puppy? Weren't they surprised?" They didn't utter a word nor asked Kaino about it, that's surprising me.

"Actually father was going to ask something but before he did, I signalled him not to because that would ruin my surprise present for you." He reasons and I nod after knowing what happened.

"Aww, he's sleeping." I coo as pup falls asleep.

"It's tiring to travel from one country to another." Kaino sighs as he gets up from the bed, "I'll get freshen up, I'm feeling sleepy too."

With that he goes to washroom and I wait until he comes back. Few minutes later, he comes out clean with a towel around his waist and with another drying his hair. My heart skips a beat seeing him like this and I turn my eyes away from him as he goes to his bag. I hear the sounds before he walks back to me in his nightwear and sits in his previous spot yet again.

"Where does he sleep?" He asks searching for the right spot for pup.

"Maybe there!" I point out the empty place beside the couch.

He nods at my idea so he goes and takes out the things from the carrier before arranging a bed for pup. He then comes to me and carries pup as he lays him on the bed before walking back. We turn off the lights and lie beside eachother, ready to sleep. I move close to him and place my hand on his torso which doesn't really surprised him rather he brings up his hand and wraps around me as he pulls me closer.

Our bodies being in close contact, it gives me warm feelings and with a smile spreading on my face, I snuggle up more closer to him before closing my eyes and falling into sleep. With this night gone by, we will be back to our home.
