chapter 07: Perfect present

Kaino's POV

"Are you ready?" I ask Parker as I get ready to leave.

It's early in the morning, one could even say as midnight as it's still 3'o clock but we woke up and got ready to leave. Yesterday night, after informing Parker about my trip for a week, we both packed our luggage. Me for travelling to Japan and Parker to go to our parents house.

"Yeah." He replies, his voice small.

He has been off since yesterday after me telling him about my trip. I don't know if he don't want to go to his parents house or is there some other reason but he seems moody since last night. However, I can't do anything. It's not good for him to stay alone in this house for one whole week without anyone accompanying him. Also, I thought change of place would make him feel better. That's why instead of calling our parents here, I decided to send him there.

"Let's get going then." I state and grab our bags, taking them out.

He nods and follows me as he closes the doors. Locking them, he keeps the keys with him and we get in the car. I start driving to the airport which takes 45 minutes of time but I have to drop Parker on the way. I should atleast reach the airport by four as the procedure would take some time. Being early is better than feeling sorry later.

"Kaino," few minutes into the drive, Parker calls me and I hum at him to continue while I concentrate on the road, "I want to come with you till the airport."

When he makes the request, for a milli second I turn to look at him before focusing on the road again.

"Why? I thought of dropping you on my way to the airport. How will you go back then?" I ask confused, if I remember clearly I told him this already.

"I know that but I want to be there until you leave. And as for the drive, I can drive back to parents house. You may not know, I know how to drive." He says and I chuckle at the last sentence, ofcourse he would know to drive.

"Okay, if that's what you want." I agree as I don't see the reason why not.

"Thank you." He states and I nod at him.

After our small conversation, silence engulfs us as I concentrate on driving while Parker sits still listening to the soft music playing in the radio. When we reach the airport, I park the car in the parking lot and take out my luggage before we both walk inside. We sit on the waiting chairs as we wait for the announcement regarding my flight.

"Parker, do you want anything from there?" I query him thinking maybe he would like to have something from foreign country.

"No, I don't need anything. I'll just wait for your return." He replies softly.

I take a look at him while he keeps his head down and stares at his intertwined hands. Him being my brother's lover, I never saw or thought of him in any wrong way. But that doesn't mean I deny the beauty he holds. He's more beautiful and prettier than the girls I have dated before. His round face, small ears, innocent eyes, sharp noise the last and most important of all is his lips. His lips are the most attractive I have ever seen on any person. Ofcourse, I have never had unwanted thoughts before when he was someone's lover but now that he's my husband, I don't think it's wrong of me to see him in romantic way.

"What's wrong?" I snap out of my thoughts when he calls me out.

"N-nothing, it's nothing." I respond feeling embarrassed of my own thoughts.

"You'll call me everyday, right?" He asks worriedly as if I would say no.

"I will. Even if I get busy with work and other things, I'll call you atleast once everyday." I assure him.

Just as we finish talking, the announcement for my flight is made. I get up to leave.

"Announcement is made, Parker. I'll get going now. Get back home safely, I'll contact you when I land in Japan." I tell him as he too gets up with me.

With one last look at him, I turn around and take a step towards the entrance. Before I could take another step, thin arms wrap around waist and I feel Parker's body against my back. Confused and surprised by his sudden act, I stay stunned for a moment before turning to him.

"Parker, what's wrong?" I question when he doesn't let go of me even after I turn around.

"I'm going to miss you, Kaino. If the work finishes earlier than expected time, return back immediately don't wait until a week." He mumbles tightening his hold.

His confession shocks me but at the same time I feel overwhelmed by his words and feelings he's showing to me.

"I'll miss you too, Parker. And I'll come back early when the work finishes before time." I give my word while slowly but steadily I bring up my hands and hug him back.

His body fits perfect in mine as we embrace eachother. We stay like that for few minutes and pull away only when the second announcement is made.

"I'll go now." I say and this time, he nods while waving his hand.

Walking away from him, I get to my flight and broad inside, ready to leave. After hours of flight journey, the plane finally lands in Japan and I take my luggage before booking a taxi and going to the hotel where the hospital management has already registered a room under my name. All my other coordinators and teammates are already here as they took the flight one day before me. I was busy with my patient who was in critical condition so I couldn't come along with others. I wasn't even sure if I would come here but the patient showed signs of recovery and the management resumed the act of sending me here.

When I reach the hotel, I pay for the taxi guy and enter inside the hotel. I ask the receptionist for my registered room keys as the room is already booked on my name. After her handing me the keys, I take the elevator and reach my room. The first thing I do after going into the room is keeping my luggage aside and taking a very much needed bathe. I stand under the shower and let the warm water soak my body so the exhaustion would go. A very long time spent in there, I get out and get dressed.

While drying my hair, I grab my phone and call Parker so that I can inform him saying I reached here. A series of rings later, he finally accepts the call and answers me.

"Kaino." He exclaims with a cheerful voice as if he haven't seen me for years.

"Hey, Parker." I respond sitting on the bed with a sigh.

"You landed in Japan?" He questions.

"Yeah, almost an hour ago. I hired a taxi and arrived at the hotel. After taking shower, I'm calling you now." I tell him while lying on the bed with a groan.

God!! My muscles are stiff now and I feel so worn out.

"What's wrong?" He asks with concern.

"Nothing, because of flight journey I feel so tired." I respond and remember about him whether he reached the parents house, "did you go to parents house safely?"

"Yeah, I got here safely. Mother and father didn't tell us before but they got a pet. He's so so cute Kaino, from the time I arrived here I'm always playing with him. I'm in love with him, Kaino." He says excitedly about the dog, it's the first time I'm hearing him talk so excitedly about anything.

"That's good, Parker. You won't miss me anymore now that you have him." I joke while chuckling.

"That's not true, I'll miss you even if I have everyone in the world with me. He's just going to fill the gap until you return." He mumbles lowly.

"I know, Parker. I'm just kidding." I state as I sit up on the bed and look at the clock to realise in few minutes I have to attend the meeting with others, "I'll call you again later, Parker. I have to go now."

"Okay, I'll wait for your call." With him saying that, we end the call.

I thrown the towel in the bathroom as I finish drying my hair and leave the room before styling my hair. When I arrive at the appointed meeting area, I greet the other team members who have already arrived and are waiting. When everyone of us are here, our dealers start the meeting. It goes on for almost two hours as they explain each and every aspect, quality, price, warranty, gaurantee and other things about the equipment. We note down all the points and our meeting comes to an end. In the coming days, we will have to go and check on the equipment, testing it.

As our work gets done for today, we all have dinner together before we get back to our rooms. Being tired with flight journey and then having to attend the meeting, exhausted me all over. As soon as I get into my room, I just plop down on the bed and sleep hits me hard to the point that I fall into slumber when my head hits the pillow.

My work in here finally comes to an end and the team manager signs the contract after we test every inch of the equipment thoroughly and get good results. To my relief, the work got over two days before the given time. Today evening we're heading back to our country. In this four days, I called Parker and talked to him everyday. But I'm not going to inform him about going back home because I want to surprise him.

Now it's still afternoon and we're going to leave in few hours. As I have time, I decide to stroll around the city for sometime and to buy something for Parker. Though he told me he doesn't want anything, I want to take something for him. With that in mind, I start searching for right thing for him. Wandering around the area for sometime, I come to a stop when my eyes catch the most appropriate present for him. Without another thought, I decide that would be perfect thing.

By the time I finish getting the present and get back to the hotel, everyone already are waiting at the lobby to leave. I apologise for being the last person and making them wait before I quickly go to my room and gather by things. I check out the room and hand the keys to the receptionist. Making our way to the airport, we board our flight and I relax as I sleep during the journey.

When we land in Thailand, we bid goodbyes to eachother as we're going to have day offs until the next weekday which is three days from now on. This is only for our team as we travelled to another country on work basis. As I didn't inform Parker about my return no one would pick me up. So, I take the taxi and go to our parents house. Couple of minutes drive later, I finally reach home. I pay the guy and make my way inside the gates. Standing at the closed doors, I press the door bell and nervously wait for the door to open. I was fine until now but standing here at this very moment, making me anxious.
