Chapter 352
Divorce Time
14:09 Chapter 352 Chapter 352 They found their seats just as the practice race was about to start.
Kelvin and York had never been into racing before, so they didnât really know who to cheer for, But after watching for a bit and listening to the commentator, they learned that car number 38, driven by CC, and a couple of other racers were the favorites to win.
The twist? CC was the only female racer in the competition.
Naturally, she had captured the attention of many in the crowd.
Especially after CC executed two breathtaking overtakes on the bends, causing everyone to gasp in amazement.
Kelvin couldnât help but exclaim, âWow, thatâs gutsy! Impressive!â
Dalton chuckled to himself, knowing Kelvin had no idea CC was actually Vesta.
CC came in first place in both practice races, Kelvin, unable to contain his excitement, said, âWho is this CC anyway? I need to meet her!â
Just as he finished speaking, the screen showed âCCâ stepping out of her car and removing her helmet.
When Kelvin realized CC was Vesta, his eyes widened in disbelief. âCC is her? Well, um-â
After the initial shock wore off, disappointment set in. âI was thinking of asking her out, and now youâre telling me CC is Thorneâs girlfriend?â
He realized he didnât stand a chance.
Feeling deflated, he mumbled, âWow, Thorne really hit the jackpot, didnât he?â
Vesta noticed them from across the way. When she spotted York, she looked pleasantly surprised.
She approached them with a friendly smile. âMr. Ramirez, Mr. Watson, Mr. Scott, didnât expect to see you guys at a racing event!â
Dalton spoke first, âWe hadnât really been into racing before, but you mentioned it, and we had some free time today, so we thought weâd check it out.â
He added, âYou raced incredibly well, congratulations on coming first both times.â
Vesta grinned, âThank you.â
York chimed in, âCongratulations.â
Vesta replied, âThanks.â She smiled at York, âItâs been a while since I last saw you, Mr. Watson. For a moment, I thought I was seeing things.â
York said, âWork keeps me busy, not much time off.â
Vesta continued, âI heard youâre a pilot, Mr. Watson. Compared to flying fighter jets, does our race seem a bit dull?â
âRacing has its own appeal. I donât think they can be compared. Besides, Ms. Hawkins, you really nailed it out there.â
Vesta smiled at Yorkâs compliment.
Dalton seemed to remember something, and he asked, âBy the way, whereâs Mr. Henderson? Didnât he come to watch you race?â
âThorne had some work, so he couldnât make it. But heâll definitely be there for the main event,â Vesta assured them. âIf you guysâ are free, youâre more than welcome to come and watch.â
1/2 14:09 Chapter 352 Dalton replied, âIf Iâm free, Iâll definitely be there.â
He genuinely wanted to see her race in person, but with Thorne attending, he was a bit hesitant.
Saturday rolled around.
Charlene woke up early that morning.
She booted up her computer to check on some model data, and before long, her phone rang.
It was Gaylord calling. He had recently proposed an idea at work that Charlene found promising. She allotted some resources for it and was personally monitoring its development.
As a result, theyâd been in frequent contact, exchanging phone numbers in the process.
When his name appeared, Charlene figured it was about work and answered the call. But Gaylord wasnât calling about work; he wanted to know what fun things there were to do in Starfall, seeking her recommendations. Charlene responded, âWhat I enjoy might not be your thing. Donât you have friends here? Wouldnât it be quicker to ask them?â
Gaylord said, âTheir suggestions didnât really pique my interest.â
He paused, then asked, âAre you working on a weekend? I hear typing.â
Charlene replied, âYeah.â
âPlanning to stay cooped up all weekend? No plans to get out?â
Charlene kept her eyes on the computer. âIâm taking my grandma to see a play tonight.â
