Chapter 305
Divorce Time
Chapter 305 Charleneâs face shifted slightly as she whispered, âLet me goâ
Thorne interrupted, âHold onto the umbrella.â
He didnât wait for her response; instead, he effortlessly picked her up and carried her down the steps. As he walked away with her in his arms, he called over his shoulder to the others, âIâm heading out now. Letâs catch up another time.â
The group of business people, familiar with Thorne, were a bit taken aback.
Everyone knew about Charlene and Stewartâs relationship. If Stewart had sent Charlene to represent PrimeStar at this government meeting, it implied their relationship was still intact.
Thorne already had a girlfriend, so showing interest in Charlene this way seemed bold, almost as if he was openly challenging Stewart.
Stewart was a formidable figure, not someone to be taken lightly.
Despite their thoughts, they simply responded with awkward smiles, âSure, catch you later.â
With so many eyes on them, Charlene felt compelled to say, âThank you, Mr. Henderson. Now that weâre off the steps, I can walk on my own-â
Thorne continued towards the car, still holding Charlene securely.
He glanced down at her and remarked, âYouâve lost weight.â
âYou-â
Thorneâs driver, noticing them approaching, quickly got out to assist.
Seeing Thorne carrying someone, he was surprised. Realizing it was Charlene, he was even more taken aback. âMs. Ross?â He quickly opened the car door.
Charlene realized Thorne intended for her to ride with him.
She said coolly, âMy car is nearby-â
Despite her protests, Thorne took the umbrella from her hand, helped her into the back seat, and asked, âYouâve sprained your ankle. Are you sure you can drive?â
Charlene replied calmly, âI can call someone to pick me up.â
Before Thorne could respond, Dalton approached, âMr. Henderson.â
Thorne closed the car door, handed the umbrella to the driver, and turned with a smile, âMr. Ramirez, still here?â Dalton knew Charlene was in the car, but the car windows were tinted, making it impossible to see her from outside.
He looked at Thorne and asked, âIs Ms. Ross inside?â
Thorne nodded, âYes, she sprained her ankle. Iâm taking her to see a doctor.â
âI happen to be free and was hoping to discuss some business with Ms. Ross. If you donât mind, I could take her to the hospital,â
Dalton offered.
Thorne smiled, âQuite the coincidence, but we also have some matters to discuss. Perhaps another time, Mr. Ramirez?â
Daltonâs expression darkened slightly.
Thorne added, âThe windâs strong out here, and youâre getting drenched. You should get back to your car and dry off.â
1/2 Chapter 30 Dalton understood that regardless of Thorneâs intentions with Charlene, he had no grounds to intervene.
He nodded, cast another glance at the back seat where Charlene sat, and walked away.
Inside Thorneâs car, Charlene couldnât hear the conversation between Thorne and Dalton. But she noticed Daltonâs gaze towards the car.
Knowing Daltonâs interest in Vesta, she could guess his intentions even without hearing the conversation.
She turned her attention back to her phone, dialing someone to pick her up, and checked her ankle.
Relieved to find that the injury wasnât serious and she could still walk, she felt reassured.
Putting her phone down, she opened the car door and stepped out.
