Chapter 280
Divorce Time
Chapter 280 The person who brought him in chuckled, âOh, absolutely. Director Hawkins is incredibly talented, and everyone on our team really likes her.â
Plus, the daily perks for their team were quite generous, thanks to the close ties between Director Hawkins and Mr. Henderson.
Of course, he didnât say that out loud.
Jacques beamed with pride upon hearing someone praise his sister. He felt a warm sense of shared accomplishment. Still, he wasnât planning to interrupt Vesta at work.
âShow me around the other parts of the office, will you?â he suggested.
âSure thing.â
They stepped out, only to bump into Granger coming through the entrance.
The person accompanying Jacques quickly greeted Granger, âMr. Harden.â
Granger nodded, his eyes briefly assessing Jacques. With his youthful face and studentâlike attire, Jacques didnât really look like your typical corporate type, so Granger quickly figured out who he was.
He kept that to himself, though. Instead, the guide stepped in, saying, âThis is Director Hawkinsâ brother, Jacques.â
Jacques had never met Granger before, but he certainly knew of him.
Upon hearing the name Mr. Harden, Jacques ventured a guess, âYouâre Granger?â
Granger nodded, âHello.â
Jacques grinned, âHey there.â
Just as Jacques was about to say more, Grangerâs attention shifted towards Charlene, who was engrossed in her work nearby.
âExcuse me, I need to head over there,â he said, moving past them without waiting for a response.
Jacques was momentarily taken aback. Werenât his future brotherâinâlawâs friends supposed to be particularly friendly with his sister? Why did Granger seem a bit aloof?
Unconcerned with Jacquesâ thoughts, Granger made his way to Charleneâs side. âMs. Ross,â he greeted.
Charlene turned, momentarily surprised to see him. âMr. Harden,â she replied.
It was the end of the year, and Granger was busy. He hadnât seen Charlene for about two weeks.
In fact, shortly after their last conversation, he had been discreetly summoned for a meeting by higherâups.
But he didnât mention any of that. Instead, he asked, âWill you be attending my companyâs gala this weekend, Ms. Ross?â
Charlene nodded and replied, âYes, I will.â
Ever since he had offered to help her uncle, Charlene had noticed that Granger had been quite amiable towards her.
After all, he had assisted her. Besides, they had been working well together recently, and he had personally sent her an invitation. Professionally and personally, she had no reason to decline.
Granger smiled at her response, âThank you for honoring us with your presence.â
Charlene replied, âNo need for such formalities.â
Sensing that she wasnât keen on continuing their conversation further, Granger didnât press. âIâll let you get back 1/2 15:19 1 Chapter 280 to work,â he said.
Charlene simply nodded and resumed her discussion with Quincy and the others.
Yet, Granger didnât leave. He stood by, listening to their work talk, occasionally chiming in.
Both Granger and Moran held shares in Neural Nexus Tech, although they didnât directly manage its operations. Still, they would attend the companyâs annual meeting, which was the reason for Grangerâs visit today.
A little while later, Vesta finished her meeting and spotted Jacques. âHave you toured the whole company yet?â
she asked.
Jacques nodded, âI have.â
Just then, Moran arrived.
