Chapter 4: Ruckus (Spencer's POV)

"Who?"

I walked downstairs, into the foyer, and found Ms. Sunny on the house phone, talking to someone on the landline instead of working.

"What do you mean she's crazy?"

I frowned in confusion, listening in.

"Well, get rid of her! Prince Spencer will be leaving soon!"

I ignored her and walked past, her back still to me. I left the castle and stopped at the car where Mr. Neil stood, staring at the main estate gates with a worried look etched onto his face. "Something wrong, Mr. Neil?"

He jumped, swiveling around and looking at me over the hood of the car. "Oh, goodness. Nothing, sir. Nothing at all."

"Then let's head on out."

"Uh, sir." He looked at me hesitantly.

"What?" I asked, lifting a brow.

"There's... there's a young lady."

"What young lady?"

"She's demanding money." What the hell are they talking about?

I walked around the car and to the gates. Curse that flower shop, they didn't even deliver my flowers. I walked to the gates, stopping behind security.

"You need to leave!" one of the guards yelled at the girl.

She was sitting on the road, her legs crossed under her like a little kid. "I am not leaving until you pay me my damn money!" Security began yelling and she blocked her ears. "La, la, la, la, la!" She yelled, blocking them out.

I watched her with amusement.

Both the guards groaned and turned around, getting startled when they saw me. "Sir." They bowed, stepping aside quickly.

Her la, la, la's are still going.

"Open the gates," I nodded.

"But sir—"

"Open them." I stepped back and they opened the gates. Her la, la, la's are still going. I stood in front of her, watching her. She had her eyes closed tightly and a bouquet sitting in her lap. My bouquet. I nudged her knee with my shoe. "Hello." Nothing. I rolled my eyes before squatting down in front of her, poking her forehead.

She stopped, opening one eye and then the other, looking up at me. Her jaw fell slack as she quickly pulled her fingers away from her ears. "Prince Spencer!" she yelled.

I closed my eyes in irritation. "Don't yell," I shook my head.

"Sorry," she whispered.

"Don't whisper either."

"Okay," she cleared her throat and spoke in a normal voice. "Sorry."

"Who are you and what the hell are you doing here?" I asked, lifting a brow.

"I..." Her brows furrowed. "You don't remember, never mind. I'm here from Bloom House. Actually, I've been here for the past hour. Your guards here won't pay me for the bouquet but they want me to give them the bouquet anyway."

I turned around, looking at them, squinting under the sunlight. "Explain," I demanded, not bothering to stand up.

"S-sir, we thought it would be a bad idea to pay her before collecting the bouquet and confirming that you did indeed order it. So we told her—" The other one nudged his elbow, correcting him. "So we asked her to give us the bouquet first, but she wouldn't listen and started screaming," he cleared his throat.

"I started screaming?" She stood up quickly, clutching the bouquet. "I started—" She cut herself off, rolling her eyes and laughing humorlessly. "You're crazy aren't you? I started—"

I stood in front of her, sighing in exhaustion.

She stopped arguing and blinked once. Then twice. "Don't yell, right. Sorry," she groaned.

I held my hand out. "The bouquet," I demanded.

She stared at me and then shook her head, sticking her hand out. "The money." Stubborn indeed.

"How much?"

"525 nova, cash."

"525?!" The guards exclaimed. "Sir, she's trying to rob you here, we—"

I cut them a stern look and they shut up. "25 for the flowers and—"

"500 for my delivery charges, as you promised the owner."

I reached into my back pocket and took out my wallet. "You're bold to interrupt me," I snickered, taking out the money she asked for.

"I'm not bold, I'm annoyed since I've been tormented for the past hour. I came up here on a bike, wasted an hour in this heat. I argued for another hour, wasted another hour in this heat. Now I'll waste another hour going back into town in this heat."

I nodded, counting the money. "Life is hard. Don't whine about it."

"Don't hire rude security then."

I looked at her. I stopped counting the money. "Don't cause a ruckus at my castle."

She sighed in frustration, closing her eyes and taking a breath to calm herself down. "Sorry. Next time, I just won't come to deliver these. We'll send someone else. Will that do, Prince Spencer?"

"Hmm, it will." I handed her the money and pocketed my wallet. I glanced at the water bottle in her bicycle basket and saw that it was empty. "Give her something to drink before she goes," I said to the security guards and they nodded quickly. I turned to go back to the car but stopped as she spoke.

"I want Rosé."

I blinked, staring ahead of me. Devin, Daisy, waitress whose name starts with a D. It's her. I spun back around, staring at her. "Rosé it is," I smirked.

She chuckled dryly, putting the money in her pocket after counting it. "Just give me a cold water bottle, please. I don't drink." She glanced at me before taking the cold water bottle one of the guards gave her, taking it out of the mini-fridge they keep in their booth. She took it and walked to her bike, putting the bottle in the basket before climbing on. She's riding a bike in a dress, but she's got shorts underneath that are filled with cash. Weird girl. She let her hair down and gathered it again, tying it back up. She glanced over at the security guards and smiled. "What are you looking at? I have shorts on under the dress, so don't expect a show. If you like legs then look at your own."

I looked over as they both blinked and looked away quickly.

"I really suggest you get new guards, Prince Spencer. Or would you say I shouldn't wear a dress?" She lifted a brow, grabbing the handles and kicking the stand of her bike up.

"I'd say you look pretty in a dress and I could most certainly use new guards. Your name is...?"

She waited for me to continue, an amused smile on her lips.

"Something with a D," I sighed. "Daisy?"

She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "I told you so many times. It's Delilah. Delilah Celeste." She put one foot on the pedal. "Have a great day, Prince Spencer. Rot in hell, security." She rode away, her hair blowing slightly from the wind as she rode in a zig-zag.

I watched until she was too far down the slope and out of my sight. Then I turned to the guards. "I take it you both understand by now that you're fired, yes?" I clenched my jaw, glaring at the two disgraceful men.

They stared at the ground in shame.

"Prince Spencer," Mr. Neil walked over, ushering me to the car. "Just a little control, sir," he whispered.

I shrugged him off. "First, you cause a ruckus and torment a guest," I said, stepping closer. "Then you argue with the guest. And yet somehow you still have the audacity to do something so disgusting. Don't you have a daughter that age, huh?" Neither of them looked up. "I'm talking to you," I scoffed. They looked up hesitantly. "You," I nodded at him. "You have a daughter that age, don't you?"

He nodded shakily.

"What's her name?"

"C-Clara," he stuttered.

"Perhaps Clara should know what you do. Shouldn't she?"

"No, sir, please."

I cursed under her breath, clenching and unclenching my right fist, feeling the overwhelming urge to punch him. So I did. I did just that, I punched him. "Bastard," I mumbled to myself, shaking my hand out. "Out, both of you. Now." I walked back to the house and inside, calling for Ms. Sunny.

She rushed over. "Yes?"

"Find two new guards and have them here by the time I get back. Make sure those two are gone and so is their stuff from the staff quarters."

"Of course," she nodded in understanding.

I climbed into the car, looking at the bouquet which Mr. Neil already placed in the car. "Shall I drive, sir?"

"Yes," I sighed, leaning my head back, staring at the pink, yellow, and purple tulips.

They were always my mum's favorite. I plucked off the business car and ripped it up. My mother's grave isn't in Everton where people would expect it to be. It's a little more uphill from the castle I stay in. There's a small cemetery here which only has the graves of people from my mother's family. This castle was hers, given down to her and kept for generations. And she gave it down to me.

About ten minutes later, the car slowed down to a stop. Today is her birthday, so I'm here to visit. It's hard to visit her. I couldn't do it at first. I still can't. But now I only visit three times a year. Her birthday, my birthday, and her death anniversary. Today is the first.

I climbed out of the car, holding the bouquet tightly as I walked to her grave. I stopped in front of it, looking at a photo frame that I brought on my first visit here. It was a picture of her that was taken in front of the castle a long time ago. I was just a kid and we were only here for a weekend. Just her and me. I remember my father and Nico didn't want to come. They thought this castle was pathetic.

I sighed and squatted down, leaving the bouquet on top before lying down beside the grave, staring at the sky. "Everything has gone to shit since you left," I scoffed. "They might even take the castle from me. Unless I get married, that is. What do I do, hmm?" I paused, making shapes out of the clouds in my head. "What do you think I should do, mum?"
