Lucas parked the on one side of the Carol, opened the door and walked out of the car, turned around bend down a little till she reached the window of the car and said with a smile which she carries all the time on her face, "Thank you, Mr. William"Lucas nodded, he wanted to start the car and drive away but again his body didn't support him, he saw Carol walking towards a small villa, it was of two floors and looked like a sweet little home.He was unable to start the car till Carol entered her house and closed the door, once she was out of his sight, then only his body supported him and he started the car and drove away.He reached home and found that Catherine was not at home. He called her but she didn't pick the call, he redialed and this time Catherine picked the call and said in an irritated tone, "What is it Lucas if I didn't respond your call that means I am busy."Lucas asked gently, "Where are you, baby? I will come and pick you"Catherine denied immediately, "No need, Luc, you have your dinner and go to sleep, I am out with my friends and I won't be coming home tonight"And before Lucas could say anything, Catherine had hung up the call.Lucas sighed and went to his bedroom to take a bath, when he was standing in the shower and closing his eyes against the running water, Carol's face was flashing in his mind.As much as he remembers, from his college days to his business days, all the women tried to do something to have a conversation with him or to be around him and did different things to get his attention.That was the reason that he never kept a young secretary because they started throwing themselves on him which he hates the most.But it was the first time he saw a young girl being so professional, she was not attracted to him or William's property even when she was so favorite of Alice, who is the heart of the family.She didn't try to initiate any conversation with him during the drive to her home; it was the first time that he was eagerly waiting for the other person to initiate the conversation but to his disappointment, it didn't happen.He cannot deny that he is quite impressed with Carol, he cannot forget her smile. He doesn't know that the smile which she carries on her face is genuine or just a professional, but whatever it is, that smile on her face is like the cherry on the cake.It increases her beauty whenever she smiles. He was trying to stop himself thinking about Carol, but it seems like he had lost all control over his body today.It's just a week pending for Alex's marriage, but James never bothered to call her. He didn't even join them to finalize the wedding gown saying that he was busy.Now Alexa started worrying about this marriage. She thought how could she spend her life with him when he is not interested in this marriage, she thought to take a step from her side and call him.She picked her phone and dialed his number with shaking hands, the phone went on ringing but no one responded to the call. Alexa kept the phone aside with disappointment.Tears started rolling down on her cheeks, this is not how a marriage can work, even if she loves him doesn't mean that he can take her for granted.She stopped herself from crying and made up her mind that if he doesn't call back after seeing her missed call, she will talk to her parents, she is already in pain because of his behavior and she doesn't want to suffer this pain for her whole life.She waited for his call the whole day, but he didn't call back. She was trying to calm down herself saying, "He must be busy".The next day also she waited the whole day and night but no call from James. She made up her mind that now she will talk to her parents and stop this marriage.The next morning, everyone was having breakfast when Alexa said in hesitation, "Mom, D... Dad I want to talk something"Alex and Alice looked at her curiously and Alice said, "Ya Sweety, what it is, tell us?"Alexa hesitated and said, "Mo.. Mom about the marriage"Alice encouraged her saying, "Yes, dear what about marriage?"Alexa said, "Mom.....That there are only three days for marriage and I don't"Before she could complete her statement she heard the voice which she wanted to hear but at the same time didn't want to hear."What are you planning about our marriage behind my back, sweetheart," said James entering the dining room along with Daniel.Alex smiled and said, "Oh, my dear son-in- law is here, come and join us"James walked towards Alexa and sat next to her holding her hand, everyone smiled seeing this sweet gesture. Daniel said, "Bro, come on, singles are also here, don't be so lovey-dovey"Everyone was having breakfast, but Alexa was struggling below the table to free her hands but as much as she tried, the grip on her hand tightened.James had understood what Alexa was about to say to her parents and he was damn angry. He felt that he was just in time otherwise Alexa would have asked her parents to stop this marriage.And as the whole world knows Alex would do whatever his princess will ask him.He wanted to throw her on his shoulder and take her to his home, his world where she belongs, but he knows that he has to hold himself just for three days and after that Alexa is all his, his to see, his to feel, his to admire.James was scared that once he leaves the house Alexa might again try to talk to her parents to stop the marriage, so he came up with an idea.After breakfast, when everyone was sitting in the living room, James said, "Dad, Mom, I was thinking to stay here, till marriage so that I can spend more time with my would-be wife"Daniel said mockingly, "so much of eagerness is not good, brother" Alice punched Daniel and said to James, "That will be great James, you were so busy in the last few days, I fact I thought to postpone the dates."James smiled a little and said, "No need to postpone the dates Mom, I have shorted my work now I have enough time to spend with Alexa"He said looking at Alexa who was sitting next to her Dad.While talking Daniel was hugging Alice, Alex said in irritation, "Can't you sit properly, why do you have to sit so close to her?"Daniel said, "Here, again goes the old man"Alex said, "Who says I am old, you idiot"Alice rolled her eyes, stood up from her place, and said, "Here, they again started, James and Alexa follow me and leave them alone."
