Chapter 14
Her Second Marriage, Being Mr. Moore's New Wife
âThere is no need, Mr. Reynold, itâs just a common cold. Iâll just get some over the counter medicine afterward and Iâll be fine.â Charlotte quickly turned him down.
Mr. Reynoldâs discerning eyes stared at her and Charlotte became uneasy under his glare and bit her lower lip. âYour nose is already blocked. How can you simply take medicine?â Mr. Reynolds sighed softly and then waved her to approach him.
Charlotte walked towards him in several steps and then stopped cautiously.
âRemember to buy the medicine and once you get better, go to the office to see Kennedy.â
Charlotte nodded, âYes, Mr. Reynold.â
âOkay.â Mr. Reynold nodded in content, âGo ahead.â
When she left the Moore residence, Charlotte called Diana and Diana came over quickly within twenty minutes. Upon getting into the car, Diana asked, âHave you thought about it? Do you want an abortion?â
Charlotte didnât say anything and put on her seat-belt quietly.
âWhy arenât you answering me?â
Diana turned to look at Charlotte and saw that she sat expressionlessly. She frowned and said, âWhat happened to you? Didnât you think carefully after going back last night? Donât tell me that you want to keep this child?â
As she heard, Charlotte held her abdomen with her hands, âThis is a life. Isnât it too cruel to abort it?â
âHey, Charlotte, are you kidding me? Arenât your parents cruel when they made you replace Christina to marry a crippled? Your ex-husband wasnât cruel when he kept a mistress and threw you out of the house? If you keep this child, the Moore family will not accept you, and will your family want you if you were to go back to them?â
Dianaâs words exposed everything clearly for her and Charlotte lifted her head to look ahead.
âListen to me, abort the child. Now the Moore family is your only support. Furthermore, the origin of this child is uncertain. Who knows what it will be like when it is born?â Diana practically decided for Charlotte.
âI have said all that I can as your best friend. The rest need to be decided by you.â
Charlotte thought about what Kennedy said last night. He mentioned that he will give her three days to decide but it wasnât certain if he would. Then...
she should go for an abortion if she wished to remain in the Moore family?
If she were to leave the Moore family, she also canât go back to the Wilson family.
As she thought about this, she closed her eyes painfully and said, âLetâs go.â
âYouâve decided? Then Iâll send you to the hospital.â Diana turned the car around and said, âIf this child was from the person you love, then I wonât object if you want to keep it. But this was a strangerâs and you donât know if it will bring you happiness or further problems. The best way is to abort it.â
Following that, both of them kept silent all the way to the hospital.
Charlotte was very depressed while waiting for her number to be called as Diana comforted her.
Eventually, it was her turn and the doctor frowned when he examined her. âMs. Wilson, it looks like the inner wall of your uterus is very thin and you will suffer severe bleeding during an abortion. We donât recommend that you have an abortion.â
Charlotte frowned when she heard and Diana was astonished when she heard it, âShe canât abort?â
âYes, itâs not recommended.â The doctor sighed softly, âConsider it carefully. A severe bleeding is not something to be taken lightly. Go back and consider it carefully before coming back.â
Diana frowned deeply when they left the hospital, âWhat will you do if you canât abort? Good lord, how can it be so vexing?â
âI donât know.â
âIâll send you home first.â
Charlotte nodded and then shook her head. âNo, I need to go to the company. Please send me to the company.â
Diana didnât say anything and sent her to the company. When she saw the Moore Group building, Diana couldnât help but remark, âI thought that my family was rich but I didnât expect the Moore Group to exceed my expectations.â
âDiana, thanks for everything today. I need to leave now.â
Diana waved to her, âGo ahead, Iâll contact some doctors to enquire about your condition.â
Charlotte had been there with Mr. Moore who brought her there personally. As a result, that left a deep impression on the receptionists and they treated her very well.
Charlotte proceeded smoothly to the elevator and headed up to the top floor where the director's office was. She walked forward gently and saw that the door to the office was open and just as Charlotte was about to walk in, she heard Kennedy and Nathanâs conversation.
âThe last time I asked you to find someone and you brought me that woman. Now you brought a pregnant woman for me. Nathan, have I been too kind to you that now you do things without using your brain?â Kennedy sat at his table and drummed the table with his slender fingers. His eyes glared as his body filled with rage.
Nathan drooped his head as he was disciplined while he stood next to the table. He looked like a pitiful dog.
Charlotte quickly hid outside behind the door when she saw the scene.
She would be walking into a lionsâ den if she goes into the office when he was so angry. It was better for her to avoid him for the moment.
âMr. Moore, I didnât do it on purpose. You really didnât give me much information to work with. So Iâd rather that I make a mistake than not to carry out your task.â Nathan felt wronged. He was with Kennedy for so long and what he normally did for him had been work-related. Even if it was something complex, he was able to resolve it swiftly.
But now the task was to find a woman and she was a woman without any information. How was he to find such a pregnant woman at the hospital?
âI didnât give you sufficient information? Why canât you get the information by yourself?â Kennedy laughed and his sharp glare deepened. The drumming of his fingers stopped, âOr are you blaming me for your failures?â His cold and chilling tone made Nathan brace up and quickly shake his head.
âNothing of that sort! Mr. Moore, I will send some men to investigate. Next time Iâll personally interrogate before bringing the person to you.â
âInterrogate?â
âRest assured, I will definitely not harm that woman.â
âGet out.â Kennedy was satisfied with his answer and impatiently adjusted his necktie and dismissed Nathan. Nathan couldnât wait for him to yell him away. The office was unbearably cold.
âYes!â Nathan closed the door as soon as he exited the room and saw Charlotte standing next to the wall.
As they exchanged looks, Charlotte was pulled to a corner by Nathan before she could speak.

âAre you tired of living? How dare you eavesdrop on Mr. Moore and my conversation?â
When she heard this, Charlotte shook her head, âI just came, but who is he looking for?â
Everyone was curious. Furthermore, Charlotte was his wife and it was natural that she wanted to understand his matters.
Nathan narrowed his eyes when he heard this, âMs. Wilson, donât ask something that you shouldnât. You were a replacement when you married into the Moore family and cannot be regarded as the rightful wife of Mr. Moore. If you donât mind your own business, Iâm afraid you may not even retain the status as Missus.â
