1.1 - Drunken One Night Stands

Polyamory | Star Trek (Spirk x OC)

Jim was laid out casually on his bed, not particularly doing anything as he stared at the ceiling above him with his famous laid-back smirk curving his lips. His roommate, Bones, was sat at the desk on his side of the room appearing to be doing work. Jim's eyes moved from the same spot on the plain white ceiling to look over at his older roommate and he opened his mouth to talk, "I'm gonna be going out tonight."

Bones looked up from his PADD that he was working on and at his roommate with a quizzical brow and slightly amused smile. "Please warn me in advance if you're gonna bring a girl round so that I can not be here."

Without missing a beat, Jim answered, "I'm gonna bring a girl round," causing both men to look at each other with amused smiles. While Jim's showed confidence, cocky about his ability to pick up girls as always, Bones' showed his amusement at the younger man's likely misplaced confidence and general attitude.

The morning light shone in from the slightly pulled blinds on the dorm window right onto the closed eyes of the sleeping Jim causing his face to burn from the rays' heat. He stirred but immediately wished he hadn't as pain forced itself into his brain from the excessive amount of alcohol drunk the night before. He opened his eyes slightly but scrunched them shut again quickly before they even had a chance to really open as he pulled his arm up to shield them from that painful morning glow.

Groaning aloud in discomfort, Jim wished like always that he had been more sensible with the amount he had drunk and cursing empty promises of never drinking again that would be forgotten as soon as they were finished being uttered.

He allowed his arm to fall down lazily but quickly pulled it in towards his body as he felt it brush against bare skin that didn't belong to himself. Raking his dizzy brain, he realised he did not remember much after arriving at the bar and ordering his first few drinks the night before. He must have had a few more than normal, he decided.

Curious about the girl he had managed to persuade to share his bed, he finally allowed his aching eyes to open slowly, first seeing the same white ceiling of his dorm that he had been staring at only hours earlier before looking over at the body that shared the bed next to him, lying on her back.

Light silverish hair lay circled over the pillow around her head like a halo, darkening at the roots to a purplish grey. It was fairly long, likely reaching her shoulders when down. And even though slightly messy from sleeping and what had happened last night, it looked neat, a messy yet elegant wave throughout its locks that looked like it belonged.

Though closed, her eyes pulled his to look as he noticed a neat black line surrounding them. He thought she must have been wearing eyeliner but noted that it didn't look like any other makeup was applied. Jim's eyes travelled across the sleeping woman at the rest of her face. Though not particularly beautiful in the normal sense, he couldn't help but stare at her handsome yet soft features as she slept next to him peacefully. A light smile pulling the corners of her lips up delicately and a light blue blush on her pale skin made her look so much like an angel.

Though there was something about her that his hung-over mind couldn't quite place. Something that was on the tip of his tongue that made him think hard yet find nothing. As he continued to admire her, he noted that the blanket had shifted from his waking movements and now sat lower on her chest. His eyes widened as he realised what had been bugging him about her as his eyes landed on her flat muscular chest that looked suspiciously like...

Shit...

His heart raced as he realised that the person lying next to him was not, in fact, a woman as he had originally assumed, but a man. His mind quickly tried to reason with him that, perhaps, she was just a very masculine woman. He'd slept with them before. One's with more toned faces or flat chests or muscles in places that made them look like a man if you only looked once but made them look more beautifully female if you looked closer.

Wait. There was one way to check. There was one thing that typically the males of the humanoid species had while the women didn't. He pulled the covers up slowly, not wanting to disturb the sleeping person but shoved them back down with much less care as he got his answer.

Nope! That was not a female.

Unfortunately, his actions with the blanket had begun to stir the man who opened his electric blue eyes after a few moments and turned his head to look over at the panicking Jim with a light sleepy smile.

"Hi." The man whispered, his voice rough from sleep and yet somehow still silky sweet. Jim looked into the now open eyes of the man but couldn't say anything, his mind racing about what had happened last night for him to end up with a man in his bed. The lack of response caused the man to narrow his eyes at Jim, though tenderly as if worried about him. "Are you alright pet?" he questioned softly, turning over so he was on his side facing the distressed man sharing the bed.

Jim took a moment for his mind to stop racing so completely before he stuttered out his question to the man, "What happened last night?"

The silver-haired-man smiled asking "You black out?" before sitting up slightly and replying, not really waiting for an answer to his first question, "We met at the bar. I was getting a drink when you came over and offered to pay for it, rather persistently. We got flirting and I'm sure you can fill in the gaps."

Suddenly, as if the words triggered a replay, Jim could remember part of what had happened.

Jim was down the end of the bar sitting on a stool looking around. He'd already had enough drinks to be completely wasted but had yet to really find someone in the fairly filled room that gained his attention. That was until someone walked over to the bar, not too far away from where he was sat and ordered themselves a drink. He'd noticed the way the pale ends of their hair shone in the dim lighting and caught their eyes long enough to see the electric blue glow like a beacon summoning him over.

He quickly abandoned his half empty glass and slid into the seat next to them. "Make that two on me." He told the bartender before looking over at the person who had caught his eyes more closely. Now he could clearly see them, and his drunken mind decided then and there that they were the most beautiful person in that bar.

"Thanks, that's sweet pet, but I can pay for it myself." His silvery voice made Jim's spine shiver, but he didn't show it, simply making his seductive smile bigger before replying.

"Please handsome, let me."  Jim replied, in a persistent tone with a soft smirk, easily telling the man that he wasn't going to give up any time soon.

The silver beauty smiled back and bit his lip, deciding to give in as their drinks were delivered and Jim continued to happily flirt with him.

Snapping out of it, Jim couldn't remember much after that, but it was certain. He'd approached the man. And he knew at the time that he was a man when he approached. What had he been thinking? Well, obviously it wasn't his brain thinking which meant that there wasn't much thinking really happening at the time but still, he'd never even looked at a man like that before.

He looked back at the man nervously. "I don't remember last night. I was very drunk. I am not gay." He admitted, quite quickly as the words tripped over themselves to get out.

The man's eyes looked at him for a moment, curious and almost as if looking into Jim's very soul making him want to squirm, before he smiled kindly, the expression resembling a reassuring motherly smile. "It's okay. You'd be surprised the number of guys that use me to test their sexuality." He explained before adding on, "I won't tell anyone, don't worry."

Feeling relieved, Jim nodded his head absentmindedly before looking awkwardly at the clothes scattered across the room, obviously having been thrown aside the night before. It made his face warm at the idea, but he quickly banished the thoughts before they could properly form, looking over at the man again. "We should probably..." trailing off Jim gestured to the clothes and then themselves causing the man to smile in gentle amusement.

"Of course."

The two turned in the bed so that their backs were facing each other, Jim out of embarrassment and the man out of respect, and started gathering and replacing their clothes. Looking back at the silver-haired man, Jim noted that he wasn't looking and decided to just get new clothes out of his wardrobe to quicken the process of his dressing rather than trying to find all of his clothes scattered around the room.

Due to this, Jim finished changing quite quickly and had a chance to look back at the man again just as he stood up with his shirt inside out in his hands. Looking at the man's bare back that he hadn't gotten a chance to before, he noted how toned the man truly was.

Though he had briefly seen the chest of the man only a few moments ago, he had been too shocked to notice how rather muscular it was. Being very well built, it was obvious the man took care of himself. Running up his back from one spot before splitting up and spiralling lightly around his sides to his chest and shoulder at different points as its original line rose to his neck and disappearing behind his silver hair was a cobalt blue tattoo. The marking made is body more defined and definitely made him more attractive.

Wait. No!

Jim quickly shook his head to banish the thoughts of the man again. He wasn't gay, he shouldn't be thinking like that.

After pulling the shirt over his head, the man looked over at Jim to see his flustered and confused face staring off into space, obviously having been trying not to look at him so he spoke up to catch his attention, a soft beautiful smile lacing his blueish lips as he did. "I'm gonna head out." He said quietly though strongly even with his gentle voice that had become significantly less rough since waking up properly. "I know you don't remember last night but I had fun, so thanks." Jim's head quickly turned to lock his light blue eyes with the man's deep ones as he continued, "It was nice to meet you and I wish you luck on figuring out your sexuality. See you around." And with that final warm smile that Jim couldn't help but stare at, the silver-haired-man turned and left the dorm in order to go to his own and change for lessons.

Jim continued staring at the closed door of his room, trying to work out in his mind what had happened. How had he been so drunk that he intentionally slept with a man? He got so lost in his mind that he almost didn't notice as that door opened in front of him and in entered his roommate.

"Hey Jim, how you doing? No company I see." Bones joked as he examined the room, noting the clothes that were strewn across the entire floor of the room with a shake of his head.

Deciding he had to snap out of it, not wanting or even knowing how to explain to his friend what had happened before he came back, Jim placed his famous cocky smirk on his lips as he looked over to Bones, "Mmm, you just missed an extremely beautiful woman leaving, it's a shame."

"Of course. Poor woman. Now clear up your shit, it's on my side of the room again." Bones ordered jokingly, not even bringing himself to fake a harsh tone as he moved over to his side of the room, kicking a piece of clothing out of the way as he sat on his bed, "We've got classes in an hour."

Jim rolled his eyes and pulled himself off of the bed to clear up as ordered, steeling himself to forget about what had happened and just move on as if it was just another one-night stand.
