Chapter 16

The Evil Grand Duchess Just Wants To Enjoy Her Brand New Life!

"Advice"

As the emperor was finished reading her paper work, he finally expressed what he thought, "I think this is a great idea Cynthia, im glad you proposed this, furthermore you are right about what you said, it is indeed our job to help our people in times of need, and i think this can be a good move to finally solve their given hardships, so yes ill agree to this."

He stamped her papers with the royal seal and gave it to his secretary.

The nobles were both dejected and sad that the emperor agreed, one of them even muttered quietly, "But your majesty...."

I, on the other hand, felt excited, "Your majesty, i am truly so happy you saw my perspective." I bowed, but it also made me wonder that if he knew all of those, why did it take my movement to finally give him the motivation to get the people there the needed aid, as much as i want to question him, lets just not, i cant spoil the moment.

After hours passed by, the meeting finally ended, and i started to head back from where my carriage was. Then suddenly, a tap reached on my shoulders.

I looked back, hmm?

It was Kain who was tapping me, he said, "You truly were admirable back there."

"Ohh, hello kain, it's been so long, and thank you."

He walked beside me, "No, but really, i too actually have been wanting to speak up about that topic since i also visited the slums 3 months ago, and the situation there was really far worse than i had expected, but unlike you it seems like i do not have the same strong will as you did back then."

"Is that so?" Its always so crazy how all of these characters actually have their own normal life before the novel even started.

"I wish i had the same confidence like you did Cynthia. It truly does show that i am failing as the peoples crown prince. I am personally disappointed with myself."

I looked at him, "Do not worry, i get your side considering your position is not really stable in terms of power since the nobles can still rebel against you, and i know you're afraid to lose face specially since majority of the nobility there did not like my idea, but i do hope that mybe someday you wont be too afraid in standing on your own ground and state your opinion about things, since what you would have said is not wrong at all, you are merely helping your people and that idealism is never and will never be bad, so for the sake of your personal growth just try and dont be afraid of the naysayers opinions, as long as its intentions are good, i dont see the problem with it."

He looked at her seriously and gazed down, "You are right, i am grateful by words, thank you."

"You are ever so welcome."

He smiled and thought, shes right, all of my life ive always trapped myself towards the opinion of others on how they perceive me, without realising i will never prosper if i keep getting afraid of dissapointing someone, it'll be hard for me but i know I'll change slowly to my pace and probably someday, i can finally be true to myself.

"Before you leave, can you join with me tea?"

I was surprised, "Are you sure?, you seem quite busy."

"It's fine, i am not, so will you?"

"Well, it would be an honor, Kain."
