Chapter 90
My Wife Is A Masquerade Master by Elisa Bertram Novel
Chapter 90
Ethan tied up his messy hair and blinked his charming blue eyes at her. âI missed Miss Guzman, so I have to find an excuse
to see you.â
Madison smiled and said. âIf Mr. Collins wants to discuss business with me, then letâs sit down and talk. If itâs just some boring private matters, Iâm sorry. Iâm very busy. Iâm afraid I donât have time to chat with you.â
Ethan forced a heartbroken tone. âIt seems that I only have commercial value in front of Miss Guzman and have no personal charm.â
When Madison turned to leave, Ethan immediately stopped her. âMiss Guzman, I have 25% of the Conner Groupâs shares. Do you still want them?â
Madison was surprised. She knew that Ethan owned a lot of shares, but she did not expect it to be as high as 25%. Coupled with the odd lot in her hands, it was enough to enter the Conner Groupâs clothing industry.
Ethan showed his trump card and expressed his sincerity. Madison naturally had no reason to leave.
She then sat opposite Ethan. Then how much do you plan to sell it for!â
Ethan pushed the freshly brewed coffee in front of her. Try it
Madison took a sip and her mouth was instantly filled with the fragrance of coffee.
She commented pertinently. âTo be honest, it tastes very good.â
Ethan rested his chin on one hand and tilted his head. âBaby, if you like it. I can cook it for you every day.â
Madison smiled. âMr. Collins, Iâm not a simple little girl. Instead of talking about love with me, why donât you think about the price?â
I donât want a single cent. I can give you these shares for free.â
Madison knew very well that everything free also came with an unacceptable price tag.
Her brows were filled with calmness. âThen what do you want?â
Ethan said lazily. âIf I say that Iâm doing this to take revenge on Alison for being heartless to me back then, would you believe me?â
Madison shook her head. âIn my opinion, Mr. Collins, you have never liked Miss Conner, not even for a second. Back then, when you pursued her, you just treated her as an object that competed with Neville. Since you have never liked her, how can you take revenge?â
Ethan felt that Madison was insinuating something, so he immediately explained, âIn my eyes, Miss Guzman is different from her. Donât belittle yourself.â
Ethan helped her refill half a cup of coffee: âMiss Guzman, I happen to lack a woman to deal with the troubles at home, and you happen to lack a man to help you maintain your reputation. Since weâre business partners and partners in life, isnât that a perfect idea?â
Madisonâs lips twitched. âWhat exactly made Mr. Collins suddenly change your mind?â
She was sure that Ethan had been just flirting with her previously and had no intention of getting into a relationship at all.. However, this time, this guy changed his mind.
Chapter 90
Ethan looked up with his blue eyes. âAre you the one behind Sam?
Madison said bluntly, âSo what if itâs me? If you have to blame someone, blame Alison for plotting against me time and time again. Why canât I fight back?
Ethan clapped his hands and said, âI knew it. How could a blockhead like Sam think of such a vicious move? There must be an expert guiding him from behind, so I thought of you immediately.â
âIf Mr. Collins is here just for gossip, I suggest you look for Sam himself.â
Just as Madison was about to leave, Ethan grabbed her hand. âIf one wants to survive in a wealthy family, a necessity is to be as scheming as you. So I feel that if you marry me, I might be able to avoid a lot of trouble.
âMr. Collins, have you forgotten? I was just kicked out of a wealthy family by Neville.
âNo, thatâs because you canât bear to hurt the Preston family. With your schemes, no one there can be your match.â
Madison shook off his hand. Tâm sorry, Mr. Collins. Iâm not so cheap as to make a deal with my marriage.â
She had just walked out of the room when she looked up and saw Neville and Alison standing ahead. She could not help but curse silently. What a lucky day! G o d da m n! Why I didnât listen to Ross? I shouldnât come here!â
When Neville saw Ethan chasing after her, he immediately pursed his lips tightly and his eyes were filled with coldness.
Just as Madison was about to ignore him as air and pass by him nonchalantly, Alison suddenly blocked her way. Her eyes were red as she begged, âMiss Guzman, what do I have to do to make you let me go?â
Her soft and weak appearance was completely different from when she was threatening her.
Madison was taller than Alison. She bent down and looked at Alison seriously. âMiss Conner, where did you learn to change your expression? Why are your skills so exquisite Youâre quite different from before.â
Alison was embarrassed and angry, but because Neville was standing beside her, she had to conduct herself. She simply pretended to be innocent, and tears fell.
âMiss Guzman, you know that you were the person that Sam was looking for. Why arenât you helping me clarify it?â
Madison suddenly let out a cold laugh. âAlison, how s tu pi d do you think I am? Do you think I would willingly shoulder your messy problems?â
Ethan walked over and said, âMiss Conner, if you think that the evidence Sam released is not enough, do you want me to call him over and confront you?â
Alisonâs gaze swept back and forth between Madison and Ethan. âI finally understand why Miss Guzman is so vicious. It turns out that you have latched onto Mr. Collins.â
Madison smirked and said, âYou can say whatever you want, but I have to warn you. This time, Iâm just ruining your reputation. If you plot against me again, I donât mind sending you to another world.â
Alison could no longer suppress the anger in her mind. She raised her hand and was about to hit her when two hands. grabbed her wrist.
Shock, astonishment, unwillingness, and anger flashed across her eyes.
Ethan let go of his hands and wiped his fingers with a tissue. âMr. Preston, thank you, but Iâll take care of Madison from now on. You donât have to worry about her anymore.â
Neville sneered insinuatingly, âThen Mr. Collins, remember to prepare an umbrella for yourself. After all, some people like
to kick people out of the car midway!â
Madison frowned. This m n man was vengeful. It had been so long, but he still could not forget it.
Ethan smiled casually. âReally? Thatâs great. I like to be drenched in the rain. Itâs exciting and comfortable.â
Nevilleâs expression turned even gloomier.
Ethan walked past him with Madison.
After the two of them disappeared around the corner, Neville punched the photo frame on the wall. Blood flowed down the back of his hand.
Alison screamed. âNeville, youâre bleeding!â
She wanted to help him bandage his wound, but Neville suddenly grabbed her neck. âHow many times have I told you not to provoke her again!â
Alison could barely breathe. She spat out a few broken syllables unwillingly, âDo you like her?â
