Chapter 645
Marrying
Chapter 645
Danny said, âNot seeing anyonelâ
Danny was adamant. News spread so quickly. It had barely been a short while since he returned, and already two groups had come by.
The housekeeper couldnât help but smile wryly. âThatâs what I said too, but the two young people mentioned they brought something for you to look at. If you decide not to meet them after reviewing it, Iâll send them away. One of them is even pregnant.â
Upon hearing this, Danny turned to look at the housekeeper, who quickly handed over the materials.
Danny glanced at the contents, raised his eyebrows, and after a long pause, the housekeeper asked, âDo you want me to send them away now?â
âLet them in.â
The housekeeper was somewhat surprised but assumed that the materials must have impressed. Danny. However, whether or not they would succeed still depended on their fortune.
The housekeeper had witnessed Dannyâs struggles throughout his journey. Others didnât know how torturous it had been, but he did. Now, since they were given a chance, the housekeeper hoped the young people would make the most of it.
Valerie waited outside the door, very nervous. âMr. Morse wonât refuse us, will he?â
âHe wonât,â Matthew assured. âIf he didnât want to meet us, he would have turned us away directly, not made us wait!â
Matthew had a point, so Valerie had to wait patiently. Within a couple of minutes, they heard sounds from inside.
With a creak, the door opened, and the housekeeper came out, nodding at Valerie and Matthew. âYou may enter. Mr. Morse will see you.â
Valerieâs excitement was palpable as she immediately pulled Matthew. âSee, I told you preparing early would work!â
Matthew smiled. âYes, you were right. Letâs go in and talk.â
Once inside, Valerie smelled a faint odor that wasnât food or alcohol, but something odd. Her pregnancy had made her very sensitive to smells.
Even after entering the room, the strange smell lingered.
Valerie found it odd but didnât comment on it.
âMr. Morse, theyâve arrived,â the housekeeper said.

Danny turned to face the young visitors, his eyes showing a flicker of surprise before returning to
normal.
Danny asked, âDid you make this proposal?â
Valerie stepped forward. âYes, Mr. Morse. We originally worked with red wine and wanted to explore new markets, so we tried using fruit wine.â
Danny nodded. âThe proposal is feasible. Your brandâs impact and market insight are quite unique.â
Valerie was thrilled. âMr. Morse, this is just a preliminary plan. The most critical issue is that we canât achieve the necessary production techniques. Thereâs a gap in the domestic brewing inheritance, and the existing methods donât fit. I want toâ¦â
Danny knew what she meant and cut her off. âIâm not interested in collaborating. At this stage, I wonât come out of seclusion, so please seek help elsewhere.â
Valerie was puzzled. âWhy? Mr. Morse, you have experience and I have the venue. If you could help, I believe you could use this opportunity to pass on your legacy!â
âI donât want to. You may leave now. I can only tell you that the proposal is workable, but have no interest in pursuing it.â
Dannyâs eyes were calm, and Matthew could see that Danny had no intention of collaborating.
A person striving for success in their career must have ambition, and Dannyâs demeanor was too placid for someone with such ambition.
Valerie persisted, âMr. Morse, please reconsider. After all, you havenât been back in Kranson City long. Are you not planning to use this place as a development base?â
Danny replied firmly, âNo!â
Valerie said, âIs there something you canât talk about? I understand that major concerns are not just about money. If there are other conditions, please let us know. We will definitely meet them!â
Danny squinted and thought for a moment.
Valerieâs hopes were high.
But Danny shook his head. âYou should leave. Donât disturb us any further. See them out!â
The housekeeper immediately stepped forward. âPlease leave. Mr, Morseâs mind is made up. Itâs not appropriate to stay any longer!â
and left, feelin
Valeric looked at Danny, who had turned away disheartened. She was still reluctant to give up. Valerie carefully sniffed, and the strange odor grew more intense.
Before she could say anything else, Danny had already gone upstairs.
Helpless, Valerie followed Matthew out.

As they settled back into the car, Matthew was about to start the engine when Valerie suddenly grabbed his arm. âDonât go!â
âWhatâs wrong?â Matthew asked, immediately concerned. âIs something bothering you?â
âItâs not that. I just realized that strange smell in the room. It seemed like the scent of medicinal herbs, and it was very strong. Mr. Morse looked healthy, not sick. Letâs go back quickly!â
Valerie suddenly realized something. Danny was only in his fifties, still in his prime. From the roomâs decor and his attire, he didnât seem very wealthy.
Maybe it was because he really avoided worldly matters, but a person couldnât live their whole life without any desires.
