Chapter 38

I went back to the room to see Alex awake already.

"How long have you been up?" I ask

"Not long, where did you go?" He asks as I sit on the bed.

"I checked on mom, dad, Abby and Aaron in their rooms" I say

"Did you know our mom's will be having tea in the garden later"

"She did not tell me"

"And our dad's are going riding"

"Seems like their getting along"

"It does, oh I hope you don't mind Abby and Aaron wanted to go explore the kingdom so I asked David to prepare them a car to use"

"I'm fine with that, anything that's mine is yours, besides I want them to feel welcome here, If you or your family need anything just tell me or David or even my parents if need be" he says as I nod

"Promise me you won't hesitate" he says looking deeply into my eyes.

"I promise" I say as I kiss him.

We talk for a few more minutes before we decide to go and start shopping for the children in the orphanage so we have more time to spend the day in the orphanage tomorrow.

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

We are on our way to the car when Victoria spots us.

"Are you both going somewhere?" She ask as Alex and I stop.

"Yes, we will be going shopping for the children in the orphanage as christmas presents, though we will be going to the orphanage tomorrow" I say

"That's a wonderful idea" Victoria says

"Thank you" I say

"If you don't mind I am off, I have tea with your mother" she says with a smile.

"Of course not, we also have to get going already" I say

We all go different directions. Victoria to the gardens and Alex and I to the waiting car.

We get in the black SUV with Jason and a driver.

.....A Few Hours Later.....

We finished shopping and we just arrived back at the palace.

We bought a lot of different toys and books for them along with some clothes as well.

We enter and we spot our parents in the hallway talking to each other.

"Alex, Amelia, there you both are" Victoria says "Did you get the items you needed for tomorrow?"

"We did" Alex says

"Where did you both go?" Dad asks

"We went to buy gifts for the children in the orphanage" I say as Jason and David approach us with several bags at hand.

"Your Highness, where should we place these items?" David asks

"One of the sitting rooms will do-"

Before Alex gets to speak some more Edward speaks "Why do you need to bring them to one of the sitting rooms?"

"We still need to wrap the presents" I say

"Well you both bought a lot" Mom says as both David and Jason start walking to one of the sitting rooms.

"Well they don't receive much, our only problem is time" Alex says

"I have an idea!, how about we all wrap the gifts? So we can finish on time?" Victoria says as everyone agrees to help  with wrapping thw gifts.

We all enter the sitting room and start wrapping and in a mater of a few minutes the whole room is a mess. There's strings of ribbons, pieces of wrappin paper and more.

.....A Few Hours Later.....

We finally finished wrapping all the gifts and by the time I look out the window it's already dark.

We all clean up and decide to take a quick rest before dinner.

Abby and Aaron were still out in the kingdom. They both left an hour after Abby informed me and since then they've been out.

Alex and I enter the room and I breath out a sigh of relief as we sit on the bed.

"I'm tired after all that wrapping, do we need to have dinner?" I ask as I lay down.

"Well we don't have to if you're too tired already" Alex says as he gathers me in his arms.

We talk for a few minutes and decide to  just join for dinner.

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

We just finished with dinner and as usual it tasted amazing.

"The kingdom looks amazing" Abby says to us.

"Thank you, were glad you like it" Victoria says

"Oh by the way did Alex tell you about the New Year's Eve ball?" Edwards asks

"No" I say as I flare at Alex for not telling me about a ball.

I don't even have anything appropriate for a ball. What am I going to wear?

"It slipped out of my mind" Alex says

"Well, there's no need to worry about outfits. I will have some prepared as soon as possible so you all can decide on what to wear" Victoria says to us all as we thank her afterwards.

We talk for a few minutes before realizing the time already.

"Alex, Amelia, What time will you be going to the orphanage?" Mom asks

"We're thinking after lunch, Do you want to join us?" I ask looking at her.

"I'd love too" Mom says with a smile.

"Everyone is welcome to join us as well, if you'd want to come" Alex says

After a few more minutes discussing our plans for tomorrow. We all decided to go and visit the orphanage.

After everyon agrees with tomorrow's schedule we all retreat to our rooms to rest and get ready tomorrow.

I want to take as much sleep as I can since those children are very wild and I need all my energy for tomorrow.

We enter the room and I immeadietly fall asleep into a peaceful slumber.
