Chapter 24

.....A Few Days Later.....

It is already Saturday and my flight to Othilia will already be tomorrow.

Victoria has sent me all the details I will need for my travel.

Alex still has no clue about the trip so it will really be a surprise to him...

.....Flashback.....

"I wish I could be there for your birthday" I say trying my best not to tell him about the surprise "But I have a lot of things and there are a lot of deadlines for work"

"It's fine, we're pushing through for dinner though right?" He asks and I can se the sadness in his eyes.

We planned to have dinner at the same time while we call each other since 'I can't be there'

"Yes, I got to go I still have to finish something for work, I will call you tomorrow"

"Okay, I love you"

"I love you too"

.....End of Flashback.....

I start packing my stuff, There's not much to pack since it will only be a week.

After I finish packing I get ready for bed and set my alarms.

.....The Next Day.....

I have a quick breakfast before leaving the appartment.

I grab my bags and make my way to the airport.

Victoria wanted me to take the private plane but I told her it wasn't necessary.

So she got me a first class ticket and has fixed everything already.

I checked in and took a seat.

Currently I am waiting for the airline to start boarding.

I continue to read my book which is about a woman falling in love with a prince.

What a coincidence to my current life!

I read for a few more minutes until they started boarding.

The moment we took off I decided to take a nap.

.....Two Hours Later.....

When I got out of the airport I spotted my transportaion to the palace.

I get in along with my bags and watch my surrounding as we make our way to the palace.

I can't help but smile at the thought of being back and seeing Alex once again.

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

I just arrived when I spotted Victoria heading towards me.

"Amelia, finally you've arrived, its good to see you dear" She says as she hugs me and I hug her back as well "It's good to see you as well"

I noticed Edward behind her after Victoria moved.

I approached Edward and we both hugged one another.

We greet each other and we all enter the palace while conversing with one another.

In a short amount of time since I met them both Victoria and Edward felt like my parents here in Othilia.

"Alex should be here soon" Victoria says

"Liam kindly inform Alex to meet us in my office but don't say a word about Ms. Peterson's presence" Edward says

"Yes, sir" Liam says as he leaves the three of us in the hallway.

We walk towards the office and chat while waiting for Alex.

"If you don't mind me asking, Where's Alex?" I ask

"He is visiting one of the charities, but don't worry he should be back soon" Victoria says with a smile on her face.

After Victoria spoke the doors opened and it revealed Alex.

"Father you-" he stops as he notices me.

"Amelia" he says as I run to him and hug and kiss him as he does the same to me. After we pull apart he starts to speak first "What are you doing here?"

"I am here for your birthday week" I say smiling at him.

"But how, I thought"

And that's when I realized we weren't the only ones in the room.

"Well, someone helped me get out of the job for a week" I say and he already knew who.

"Mother, Father since when were you planning this?"

"The other week ago" Edward says

"And when did you know?" Alex asks looking back at me.

"Last week" I say

"And you didn't bother telling me" he says with an amused smile.

"It's a surpise Alex, of course she won't tell you" Victoria says

We get interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Come in" Edward says

Liam comes in and bows before speaking "I am sorry to interrupt but Your Majesties have a meeting to attend to"

"Oh, yes I forgot about that one" Victoria says "Alex why don't you stay with Amelia while we are gone, we will call you both for supper later"

Alex nods as Edward starts walking out with Victoria before she stops and turns around.

"Amelia if there is anything that you need just ask anyone, and if he does something foolish you know who to report to" she says and after they both leave Alex and I in the office.

I nod and chuckle at Victoria's statement. I look at Alex to see a little pout on his face.

"Since when were you both bestfriends?" He asks

"Oh, I don't know, probably last week?"

"Want to go riding later?" He asks as he puts an arm around my waist and we both exit the office.

"I'd love to" I say

"Wonderful"

.....A Few Hours Later.....

We are currently on our way to the stables to start riding.

We enter to spot two horses already waiting for us.

Both horses are brown though the other horse has a darker brown to it and is a bit taller.

I walk over to the one with a lighter shade of brown.

"Need help?" Alex asks

"Yes, please"

Alex helps me get up the horse and right after he does the same to his horse

We ride along a path wwhere you can feel the fresh breeze of the ocean.

.....A Few Hours Later.....

We just finished riding when we were approached by Liam that it was already time for dinner.

"Do you want to come tomorrow, we are all attending"

"Where?"

"One of the orphanages of the crown"

"Won't we be seen?"

"We can ask them not to say a thing"

"Okay"

We enter the dining room to see both Victoria and Edward already waiting for us.

Edward is seated by the end of the table and Victoria is at his right side and on his left is Alex and beside Alex is me.

We all talk to one another while we have dinner.
