Chapter 23

After working for hours. I was finally finish for the day. I gather my things and make my way to the cafe across the street.

I entered the cafe and I was filled with a strong coffee smell which made me close my eyes in delight.

I walk over to Margaret seated at the corner with her phone.

"Finally! I thought I neede to pull an all nighter here"

"I am only 30 minutes late, it's not my fault you came early"

"Anyways, who is the new client?" She says slightly standing up already.

"Hold on, let me order first"

"Ughh" she says sitting back down

I ordered an Iced coffee with a muffin and went back to our table.

"Can we start now!?!" She says and I can tell she is already desperate.

"Alright...the client is the queen of Othilia" I tell her as I carefully watch her expression, waiting for her to realise the whole thing.

"Wait...the queen of Othilia? That mean's the mother of Alex!?!"

"Yes..."

"And she needs an architect?"

"She came here to invite me to Othilia since Alex will be celebrating his birthday next week"

"Are you going?"

"I am"

"Did you even tell your family yet?"

"Not yet, I plan to tell them before I go"

We talk for a few more hours until we both decide to head home already.

.....A Few Hours Later.....

I decide to tel my family as soon as possible and since Abby and I weren't able to meet last time due to our jobs. I decide to contact her and see if she's available.

I ring her phone and wait for her to answer...

"Hello, Lia"

"Hey, uhmm, Are you available tomorrow evening for dinner?" I ask

"Tomorrow, let me check, hold on" she says and I can hear her checking her computer "I am free tomorrow, Why?"

"Could we meet with mom and dad?"

"I guess so, but why?"

"You know about Alex right?"

"Yes, go on"

"Well I plan to tell them as well, I rather they know it from me and not someone else"

"Okay, Well why don't you call them and just text me the details for the dinner tomorrow"

"Mhmm, will do, bye"

"Bye"

I end the call and breath a sigh of relief that Abby is fine with tomorrow

Now the main problem is how do I get my parents to meet us tomorrow with a valid reason without them figuring it out yet.

I decide to just call my mother and just invite her to dinner to catch up.

I call her and wait for her to pick up.

"Amelia, finally you remembered to call us" Mom says as she picks up

"Sorry mom, I've been very busy these past few months"

"Well, what made you call?"

"I was hoping we could have dinner tomorrow along with Abby"

"Sure, is there any reason? Wait! Is there an occasion that I forgot?Hold on"

Before I get to reply I hear her speak again and decise to just wait.

"James can you check the calendar if there's any occasion tomorrow?"

"There's none" I heat him say

"Alright, Thank you"

I wonder if they know that I can hear them and the entire conversation.

"Amelia, What is the occasion tomorrow?"

"Nothing, I just want us all to catch up with one another"

"Okay, if you say so, just message me the details"

"Will do, bye"

"Bye, I love you"

"I love you too"

She ends the call and I start to find a restaurant for our dinner tomorrow.

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

I already sent them all the details when my phone rings and it is Alex calling.

"Hello"

"Hi, you sound cheerful"

"Well I am" I say as I lay down in bed.

"Mind sharing?"

"I am meeting with my parents tomorrow along with Abby, Do you mind if I tell them about us?"

"Of course not, they're your family they deserve to know besides my family knows so yours deserves to know as well, I just wish I could meet them"

"Yeah, me too, maybe next time, when you're back here"

"Yup, hopefully"

"I have to go I am being called already"

"Alright, bye, I love you"

"I love you too"

We out down the phone and I prepare myself for bed.

.....The Next Day.....

I was able to finish work earlier so I got to go home and change earlier as well.

Right now I am currently on my way to the restaurant

I enter and I don't see any of them yet.

After I arrived I spotted my parents arrive as well.

We greet each other and wait for Abby to come who is currently running late.

"Sorry, I am late" I hear Abby say

"It's alright" mom says as we all greet each other once more.

We all decided to order already. We ordered a Margherita pizza for all of us and we all had our own pasta as well.

Dad and I had the Penne Ala Vodka while Mom and Abby had Spaghetti aglio e olio.

We started talking to each other until our food came and it tastes amazing.

I decided to tel them already or else I might end up not saying a thing later.

"Mom, Dad, Do you know Prince Alexander of Othilia?" I ask them both

"I've heard of him, why?" Mom says

"Well..."

"Well what?"

"I met him last summer and uhmm... he is my boyfriend"

Both mom and dad looked surprised while Abby looked calm since she already knew about it.

"You are dating the Prince of Othilia! Oh my god! I am speechless" Mom says

"When can we meet him?" Dad asks

"I am not sure yet since we are both very busy, I just decided to tell you already in case the papparazzi finds out, I wouldn't want you guys learning about it from them"

"Did you meet his parents already?" Abby asks

"Yes, When I went there"

"Do you know what you are bringing yourself into? With all the attention on you if the press find out about this" Dad asks

"Yes, I do and I am willing to take it" I say as he nods.

We continue to talk some more and we all ordered Tiramisu for dessert.

I decided to tell them about my trip to Othilia for Alex' birthday.

"I will be going to Othilia for his birthday next week"

"Okay, but be careful"

"I will"

We bid each other goodbye and I head home and think about all that has happened since summer.
