Chapter 12

A Few Days Later...

It is already Sunday, meaning tomorrow we are heading back to New York already.

Alex and I have been spending us much time as we can with one another.

Alex and the girls still don't know about my chat with Natalie. I decided not to tell anyone in the meantime until it is necessary that I do so.

Since the ball last Saturday. I would meet Alex every other day and the day in between would be for the girls.

Sometimes we would go out but mostly just stay in the palace to avoid any papparazzi seeing us. The palace became some sort of a second home for me due to the amount of time I spent there.

Right now we just finished lunch and we are walking around a park.

I am wearing a cherry red off shoulder blouse along with a pair of jeans and white sneakers. Alex is wearing a black polo shirt along with jeans and a cap.

"Why don't we sit down there?" Alex asks as he points to a shaded spot beside a tree. I nod and we both make our way to take a seat.

The thought of leaving Alex hurts me. I just want to stay here and be with him. Unfortunately I can't since I have a job in New York that needs me by Tuesday already.

Alex places his arm on my shoulder and I lean my head on his chest as we both look around the park.

"I am going to miss this" I say

"Me too, but we will call everyday and I will visit you or you can visit me during our free time" he says

"I know... I don't want to go back"

"Well, you can just stay here with me"

"Tempting as it is, I have a job waiting for me when I get back"

He nods and we continue to sit in silence until he speaks again.

"What time does your flight leave tomorrow?"

"We leave for the airport by 11:00 in the morning" I say as he nods.

"Want to go back to the palace? Mother and Father want to see you before you go"

"Alright" I say as he gets up and offers me his hand. I take it and we make our way back to the car.

Our trip back to the palace was filled with conversation until we reached the palace gates and they immediately open it for him.

He parks the car by the entrance and hands the keys to someone and has the car brought somewhere else to park.

He puts an arm around my waist as we make our way through the long halls.

We spot David walking up to us and speaking right away.

"Your Highness, Ms. Peterson, Their Majesties have been looking for you. They are currently in the sitting room"

"Alright, Thank you David" Alex says as we make our way to the sitting room.

We enter and the room has a white colored theme. The center of the room has a beautiful chandelier with two couches facing one another and a marble coffee table.

There are a few paintings around the room as well as a few bookshelves, the windows have white curtains and there is a piano at the corner of the room.

Seated on one of the couches is Victoria and Edward. They notice us immediately and they stand up.

We all greet each other with hugs before we take a seat.

We have some tea and biscuits while we talk with one another.

"Amelia didn't you say you play the piano?" Victoria asks

"I used to play, when I still lived in my parent's house" I say

"Well I bet you can still do great now, why don't you try?" She asks

"I have already forgotten" I say but truth be told I was just very nervous. I have played before but never in front of anyone aside from my family.

"Come on, Alex will accompany you, won't you Alex?" She says eyeing Alex.

"Huh? Umm...Yeah, sure, why not?" He says while scratching his neck.

"Perfect!" Victoria exclaims with a smile.

Alex and I both get up and head towards the piano.

"What song?" He asks

"Heart and Soul?" I ask as we both take our seats and he nods.

We both start to play and during the beginning of the song I can feel my hand shaking.

"Calm down, it's just the two of us" Alex whispers to me.

I slightly nod and focus on the song which helped in calming myself.

By the end of the song both Victoria and Edward started to clap. Alex and I made our way back to them and we sat down.

"That was beautiful" Edward says

"I agree, it was magnificent, you both play beautifully" Victoria says

We both thank them and I spend the rest of the day in the palace.

Until it is already late and I had a flight tomorrow, so I had to get back already.

"We will see you soon Amelia, make sure to call us" Victoria says

"Yes indeed, probably you can visit us soon" Edward says

"I hope so too" I say as I hug Edward then Victoria.

"I will just bring her back" Alex tells them as they nod and we get in his car and leave the palace grounds with an escort behind us of course.

"When do you have free time so that I can come and visit you?" Alex asks

"I'm not yet sure, but I got a new project to work on when I get back"

"Tell me when you have the time so I can have my schedule changed if needed" he says

I nod as he grabs my hand and kisses it and holds my hand while his other hand is on the wheel.

I nod and we continue to talk until we reach the hotel.

The car is parked by the hotel parking with us inside while we spend a few more minutes together.

"I am going to miss you" I say as I feel my eyes tearing up.

"Me too, but we will see each other soon" he says as he hugs me and I feel a tear escaped my eyes and the next thing I know I have been crying for about two minutes while Alex rubs my back to calm me down.

"Call me before you go tomorrow?" He asks

I nod and touch his face with my right hand and kiss him.

"Call me all the time" he says as he moves my hair to the side and wipes my tears away.

"I will" I say

"Call me as well when you land in New York" he says

"Okay"

We hug again and just stay in each other's embrace for a few minutes until I pull back and start to speak.

"I love you" I say as I look up at him.

"I love you too" he says as we kiss one more time before I gather my stuff in my hand.

"I better start going or we will be here the whole night" I say as we both slightly laugh.

I get out of the car and walk towards the entrance of the hotel.

Once I reach the entrance. I turn around and I can slightly see him looking at me.

I wave at him amd he does the same as he drives out of the parking lot along with his escorts back to the palace as I make my way back to my room.
