Chapter 11

I go out of the restroom and I notice that both Sophia and Maddie are talking to a group of people.

I look at the time and it is already 10 so I make my way towards his office.

I knock on the door and I wait. After about another minute I knocked again and waited.

After some time with no answer I decided to go inside.

I enter and no one is inside. I glance at the time and it is already 10:05 I take a seat by the couch and I go on my phone while I wait for him.

After sometime it was already 10:30 I was going to go back to the ballroom when the door suddenly opens. Making me glance at the door.

"Hey! sorry I am late, I was stuck with some buisness men" Alex says

I nod and he sits beside me as he kisses me and speaks "you look very beautiful"

"And you look very handsome, my prince" I say

We both smile at one another when he leans in for another kiss.

The door suddenly opens with a very tired looking David and we both pull apart and look at him.

"Your Highness, Their Majesties request your presence back in the ballroom, immediately"

"Alright, please tell them I will be there soon" Alex says

He nods and closes the door as he leaves. Leaving Alex and I alone.

"I'm sorry, I will be quick, What time are you heading home?"

"I have no idea yet"

"Alright feel free to just stay here if you want. I will try to be quick so I can catch you before you go back"

I nod as he kisses me on the forehead and leaves me alone in his office.

I look at the big collection of books he has to check if I find anything interesting.

I found a book about Geography. I alway enjoyed Geography during my school days.

I take a seat back on the couch and I start to read, I completely get lost in the book, forgetting my surroundings.

Time passes by quickly and the next thing I know is that it is already 11:45

Right on que Alex walks in with a smile and he sits on the couch beside me.

"What are you reading?" He asks noticing the book I was holding.

"Some Geography book" I say as I close the book and I place it on the table.

He nods as he puts an arm around my shoulder and we both just sit in silence.

We just stare at the empty fireplace for a few minutes before I spoke.

"Don't you have to go back?" I ask

"Not really, I could make up some excuse later" he says and I receive a message on my phone.

I sit up a bit and I check my phone.

'Can we go now?' -M

'I am good to go' -S

'What about Amelia?' -M

'I can't find her' -S

I face Alex and tell him "I have to go already, Maddie and Sophia are ready to go back"

Before he can reply another message notification interrupts us.

'AMELIA WHERE ARE YOU!?!' -S

I look up at him and he starts to speak "Tell them to go ahead, I can bring you back to the hotel later"

"But you sti-" I say but he stops me.

"It's fine, mother and father will understand" he says

"Are you sure?" I ask him

"Yes, now tell them" he says with a nod.

I nod and I start to reply to them.

'You guys go ahead. Alex will bring me back later' -A

'Alright😏' -S

'Hey! What is that supposed to mean?!' -A

'Nothing, enjoy your night' -S

I roll my eyes at her response and I put my phone back in my clutch.

"I want to show you something" he says standing up and offering me his hand.

I take it and he leads us out of his office and through the hallways.

"What is it?" I ask while we are walking.

"You will see" he says with a smirk on his face

"Alex I don't like surprises" I state

"It is not a surprise" he says and he leads the rest of the way in silence as I continue to look at the beauty of the palace's interior.

We reach a door which he opens and leads us to a library.

We pass the shelves filled with books until we make it to the end where there is an accent table with a drawer.

Alex bring out a key from his pocket and opens the drawer and all I see is some sort of device or gadget with numbers which looks very similar to a calculator.

He types in the combination which is 2628 and he closes the drawer and yhe library shelf at our left started moving.

I was shocked to see it revealed some sort of secret door.

We make our way through the door and it feels like I am in some sort of mystical world.

It is like an indoor garden with a small pond by the corner with a tree and the whole place filled with various plants and a few flowers with two benches on both ends of the room.

The whole thing looked very magical or something you would only see in movies.

It had this glow which made the whole thing feel very magical.

There were a few lanterns around to keep it bright enough.

Along with a glass roof at the top where you can see the moon and the stars.

"Wow!" I say while still looking around.

"Do you like it? I always made this my escape area" Alex says

"what do you mean?" I ask as I glance at him before looking around again.

"When I was younger, I never enjoyed my lessons so I would hide in here and make the whole palace staff look for me" he says with a chuckle.

I laugh at the thought of Alex hiding around here.

"Don't your parents know about this place?" I ask

"They do but I made sure to constantly change the code especially on those days before I enter"

"Well you were one smart kid"

"I believe so" he says smiling.

I continue to explore around the secret room until I feel Alex place his hand on my waist and moves a bit of my hair to the side.

We both just stare into each other's eyes until he speaks.

"I love you"

"I love you too" I say as he kisses me and I close my eyes as the kiss was filled with so much passion.

We both just stare at each other smiling and we take a seat on one of the benches.

The rest of the night was filled with conversation about the two of us until I noticed that it was already 12:30

"I think I better get back already, it's getting late"

He looks at his watch and has a surprised expression.

Time moved by really quickly with just the two of us sitting on the bench and talking with one another.

We make our way to the ballroom and find a few more guests around.

We approach Victoria and Edward by their thrones at the front.

Edwards notices us walking and quickly whispers something to Victoria and she glances at us and gestures the nearby door to us as Alex nods his head and we change our course towards the door.

We went through the door and I realised we are out of the ballroom and away from the guests.

We wait for a short while until Victoria and Edward come out of the ballroom as well.

Immediately Victoria pulled her arms around me "Amelia it is so good to see you and you look amazing" she says

"Thank you, you look gorgeous"

She smiles warmly "Thank you dear, Where were you both?"

"Oh yes, I believe I was looking for you Alex a while ago" Edward says

"We were in the room" Alex says

Alex told me earlier that the 'room' was the secret room.

They both nod as Alex speaks again "I will be taking Amelia back"

"Alright, Drive carefully" Edward says

Alex nods as both Edward and Victoria bid us goodbye and we make our way to his car.
