Chapter 84
Mr. Sallow's Sinful Wife by Maisie Chasey
Chapter 84 Do You Believe My Explanation?
When Madelline heard this, she pushed Nicholas away and said, âNicholas, you can go home with Nancy. I can take care of myself.â
Madelline said deliberately, looking very generous.
Nicholas frowned and asked, âAre you sure you can?â
Madelline said calmly, âIâm used to being alone anyway. So, itâs not a big deal. Iâll get through it every night.â
âI know youâre married and have a family. While me, Iâm just a cripple, and my existence will only bother you.â
âIâm sorry, I wonât look for you again. Then...â
She bit her lip and looked at Nancy pitifully. âIn the future, sheâll never find my fault or target me again.â
Nancy stopped when she heard that.
She wondered why Madelline was so calm today and didnât trap her..
Now, Madelline started attacking her, âMadelline, what do you mean? What does this matter have to do with Nancy?â Nicholas quickly realized something was strange.
Madelline immediately covered her lips. âIâm sorry, Nicholas. I didnât mean to. I just accidentally said it. I donât want to cause a discord between you two.
âExplain it.â Nicholas was angry and stared at Madelline coldly.
Madelline said pitifully, âThe reason I went to this restaurant today was to replace Mia in ant arranged marriage. That man was her blind date.â
âWhat does this have to do with Nancy?â
âBecause...â Madelline bit her lip and looked innocent, âAlice and I met Nancy and her friend. while shopping a few days ago.
They induced me to buy a 700-thousand-dollar ring. I had not money, so I had to borrow money from Mia. In exchange, I went on a blind date for Mia.â
âI know I was unlucky. But without the trap of buying the ring, I would not have borrowed money from Mia, nor would I have been forced to go on a blind date, nor would I have encountered such. a thing. I know, I shouldnât blame Nancy, but...
1/4 Madelline started to cry pitifully, âBut I canât get over this decision. I kept thinking that nothing. would have happened if I hadnât bought the ring.â
âI wouldnât have been nearly assaulted. I wouldnât have been injured and lying in the hospital.â
Her tears flowed more and more.
In the end, Madelline burst into sad and pitiful tears.
After her acting, it was time for Nancy to leave.
However, Nicholas suddenly stopped her. âWait a minute.â
Nancy didnât stop and was still walking out.
Nicholas immediately stepped forward, grabbed her hand, and simultaneously stretched her body and asked, âIs everything she said true?â
âWhat do you think?â Nancy didnât answer.
She raised her head and asked Nicholas.
Nicholas frowned. He didnât know what was wrong with him.
He was so eager to know the truth.
He wanted to tell himself that Nancy was not an aggressive and unreasonable girl.
Or is he just wanted to clear Madellineâs name?
Nancy let go of Nicholasâ hand and said sarcastically, âNicholas, itâs not important whether itâs true. or not. Whatâs important is that you believe Madelline.â
âYou dare to say that your question was not an accusation against me?â
âSince you already believe her, I have nothing to say.â
Nicholas grabbed her hand and seriously replied in a low voice, âWhat if I want to listen to your explanation?â
Nancy looked at him calmly.
Her voice was even calmer without any fluctuation. But I donât want to explain it anymore.â
âNicholas, let me go. Iâm tired and want to go home.â
Under her firm and decisive gaze, Nicholas lowered his hand bit by bit.
2/4 Nancy sat in the car. Lynn was driving.
Nancy looked at the night sky from the car window, neither feeling sad nor happy, as if nothing. could stir up ripples in her heart.
But Nancy didnât know that Nicholas left right after she left that day.
For a whole week, Nancy and Nicholas didnât see each other.
They have yet to speak on the phone, chat, or meet in person.
The days went on peacefully, and for a moment, Nancy thought she had almost forgotten him.
She suddenly felt she could live a good life by sleeping in, listening to music, raising flowers, and chatting with the baby in her womb daily.
However, she was wrong.
Reality always gives her a fatal blow.
That day, Nicholas was at work.
Lynn handed him the plan he had chosen for a long time and said, âMr. Sallow, this is the plan for Ms. Madellineâs birthday party.
Please take a look.â
Nicholas took it over, flipped through it, pointed at one of them with his slender fingers, and said, âUse this!â
âOkayâ Lynn nodded.
Lynn was supposed to do as he was told and done countless times.
But thinking about Nancyâs state that night, he still couldnât help but speak, âMr. Sallow, have you thought about it? Do you want to hold such a sensational birthday party for Ms. Madelline? If Mrs. Sallow finds out, sheâll be very sad.â
Nicholas raised his eyelids and looked at him. âSince when did you care about her so much?â
âMr. Sallow, Iâm sorry. Iâve crossed the line.â
Lynn walked back, and Nicholas lay down on the sofa chair. He stretched out his hand and pressed the center of his eyebrows hard but still felt pressure.
Sad?Will she be sad?
For a whole week, he didnât contact Nancy, and Nancy didnât contact him either.
Not to mention a phone call, not even a text message.
3/4 Nicholas took his phone and opened WhatsApp, but their chat remained last week.
Three days ago, Madelline met Nicholas and said her birthday was coming soon. She wanted to have a grand and luxurious birthday party.
Nicholas quickly agreed.
First, he wanted to compensate for the harm she had suffered in the past few days.
Secondly, he wanted to see how Nancy would react when she found out about this.
Knowing this, Nicholas dialed Lynnâs phone and asked him to come.
Lynn came in soon. Nicholas looked at him and said, âI need you to do something. Tell Mrs. Sallow Iâll hold a birthday party for Madelline and see her reaction.â
âMr. Sallow, are you sure?â
âIâm sure. You can go now.â
Lynn immediately put down what he was doing and drove to meet Nancy.
When Nancy heard the doorbell, she immediately thought that Nicholas was back.
It had been a week since she hasnât seen him. Nancy couldnât imagine what would happen and what her feelings would be like when they met again.
But one thing she cannot deny is that she misses him so much..
Nancy took a deep breath and opened the door with trembling hands.
