Chapter 40
Mr. Sallow's Sinful Wife by Maisie Chasey
Chapter 40 Nicholas Was Beaten Severely Nicholas nodded and said, âI remember the password. Please wait for me. I have something to do.â
After saying that, he turned and left.
Nancy watched his back fade away. She didnât know what he was going to do. But since he told her to wait for a while, he would come back then.
In that case, she just waited.
Anyway, they made an appointment at 2 p.m.
There is still plenty of time.
Nicholas almost ran all the way to Jacobâs room.
Jacob was sitting on a wooden recliner with his eyes closed when he went there. Incense filled the room. Uncle Joe was standing by to take care of him.
âGrandpa.â
Nicholas called out. Jacob opened his eyes and looked at him as expected.
âYou are here. Have a seat!â
While Jacob finished speaking, Nicholas unexpectedly knelt directly before him.
âGrandpa, Iâm sorry. I know what you mean. You donât want us to divorce. I failed you.â
âSo, you are still determined to get a divorce?â Jacob asked straight away.
Nicholas knelt without saying a word.
But there is only silence.
âNo wonder Nancy insists on divorce. Your attitude made everyone disappointed.â
âUncle Joe, help him stand up.â Jacobâs voice was stern and calm.
Uncle Joe walked over, bent down, and held Nicholasâ arm to help him stand up.
Suddenly, Jacob took his crutch and hit Nicholas.
Jacob was very ruthless.
1/5 1 Nicholasâ entire back felt pain instantly.
Seeing that he endured it without grunting or begging, Jacob became even more angry.
He wielded his crutch and hit Nicholas again.
After two crutches hit, Nicholasâ back was in burning pain.
âDo you still want to divorce?â Jacob asked again.
âIâm sorry, Grandpa.â
Nicholas was stubborn and insisted.
He stood there, straight like a pine tree, without frowning. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth to endure pain with all his strength.
Jacob became more angry.
He was so angry that he raised his crutch again to hit Nicholas.
Nicholas looked at the crutch he raised and prepared to bear it.
Uncle Joe rushed over and held the crutch. âSir, you canât hit him. If you keep beating him, you will break Mr. Sallow.â
Jacob was furious and said, âI think his body is strong enough to endure the beating.â
Uncle Joe looked at Nicholas and shouted anxiously, âMr. Sallow, please surrender. How can your body withstand such a beating?â
âUncle Joe, I know you are doing it for my good. I know Grandpa is very angry. If beating me will make him feel better, let him beat me.â
Nicholasâ harsh words made Jacob so gry that he was shaking all over.
He pushed Uncle Joe away and struck Nicholas with his crutch.
This time, he hit very hard.
Nicholas suddenly leaned forward. He spitted out blood from his mouth with a muffled Soon, the red blood stained the carpet.
âMr. Sallow...â Uncle Joe rushed to help Nicholas.
He realized that Nicholasâ back was all wet.
grunt.
2/5 But it wasnât because of sweat.
Instead, it was wet with blood.
The red patch soaked almost the entire back.
Uncle Joe raised his head and glanced. Jacob was furious, and Mr. Sallow was stubborn. He didnât want to give up.
If this continues, he couldnât imagine the consequences.
Wait!
Mrs. Sallow!
The only one who can save Mr. Sallow now is Mrs. Sallow.
Thinking of this, Uncle Joe helped Nicholas and immediately went out to look for Nancy.
After three consecutive beatings, Jacob felt tired. He put down his crutch and took a sip of tea.
Then he looked at Nicholas, âYou just like your father. He left his good wife and sought another woman outside.â
âYour grandma and I loved each other for life. No matter what difficulties we encounter, we will go through it hand in hand. We are so close to each other and grow old together. How did we give birth to a bastard like your father?â
âItâs true that if the parents misbehave, their child will be crooked too. He taught his beloved son. to become you, such an ungrateful person.â
Nicholas listened silently. He didnât dare to say a word.
He didnât dare to refute.
He did reject Nancy in his feelings.
This is his fault.
He couldnât deny it.
âNicholas, you run such a big company, our Sallows company. You plan strategies and make countless decisions every day.
Now, you want to divorce? Have you ever thought about Nancy?â
Nicholas replied, âI thought about her. When we discussed the divorce agreement, I told her if she has property requirements, she can ask me, and I will compensate her as she wants.â
Property? Jacob sneered.
3/5 He looked at Nicholas coldly, âThink about it. During these two years of marriage, has Nancy ever used your money? Did she care about the money you give? You thought that she wanted money, right?â
âNot only money, houses, cars, jewelry, I can give her whatever she wants.â
Jacob was so angry that his lips trembled, and he couldnât speak.
He raised his crutch and struck Nicholas again.
Nicholas still stood upright without thinking of begging.
your âNancy was alone, got divorced, and has no job. Her mother passed away many years ago, and her father...
Jacob felt distressed and said, âWe donât need to talk about her gambling dad. It would be better if he didnât exist.â
âShe has no relatives, not brothers, sisters, or grandparents. Have you thought about how she will live after the divorce? How will she bear other peopleâs gossip?â
âGrandpa, after divorce, she is still a member of the Sallows. I will take care and protect her.â
âHmph!â Jacob sneered. At the same time, he felt deep frustration. âIf Nancy has difficulties after divorce, do you think she will talk to you and ask us for help?â
âJust forget it. I finally see that you canât take care of Nancy even when you married her. So, just divorce then.â
âBut remember, Nicholas. Nancy is my beloved granddaughter and the savior of the Sallows. Even if you are divorced, no one can hurt her.â
âGrandpa, donât worry. I swear, I will never allow anyone to hurt her.â Nicholas raised his hand. and promised.
âAs for Madelline, just forget her. Even if you divorce Nancy, that woman will never become part of the Sallows.â
wwwww âIf you want to marry Madelline, step over my body first.â
Jacobâs voice was so loud that even Nancy and Uncle Joe who just came over could heard it while standing outside.
Grandpa, I promised to marry her. I have to fulfill my responsibility.â
âWhat did you say?â
Jacob was so angry that he immediately picked up his crutch and was about to hit Nicholas.
4/5 Suddenly, the door was opened. Nancy quickly ran over and jumped on Nicholas.
