Chapter 222
Mr. Sallow's Sinful Wife by Maisie Chasey
Chapter 222 Sweet Intimacy Nicholasâ gaze darkened as he spoke, âItâs not urgent. Iâll take the call after we finish eating.â
Nancy hummed in response.
After they finished their meal, Nicholasâ phone rang again while Nancy went to the kitchen.
He frowned and reluctantly answered the call.
On the other end, his assistantâs voice came through quickly. âMr. Sallow, Ms. Madellineâs condition is not looking good. She has been in a coma, and it doesnât seem like sheâs willing to wake up.â
âWhat did the doctor say?â
The doctor said that if she doesnât wake up in the next two days, there might be no hope of recovery. They suggested we find people who can touch her and spend time with her, talk to her, call out to her, and try to awaken her will to live. This might be her only chance.â
After hanging up the phone, Nicholas leaned against the railing.
His heart felt heavy, and he could hardly catch his breath.
After some hesitation, he called Lynn. âGet me a plane ticket for tomorrow.â
âMr. Sallow, your wounds havenât fully healed yet. You need rest,â Lynn said.
âItâs okay. Just buy the ticket.â
Nicholas lit a cigarette and took a deep drag.
As he was about to take the second puff, he suddenly felt a tightening around his waist. Nancy had wrapped her arms around him from behind.
âWhat are you doing standing here?â She held him and smiled happily.
âThe weather is nice, so Iâm enjoying the view here,â Nicholas responded.
âOh.â
She nodded and suddenly moved closer before gently snitting.
Then, she turned her head and immediately saw Nicholasâ hand hanging by his side and the cigarette he was holding She reached out and took the cigarette from his hand unabashedly.
At the same time, she pouted and said. âYour wounds havenât fully healed, and youâre smokingâ Do you want to harm your own body?â
Nicholas laughed and replied. âYouâre such a busybodyâ
1/4 âOh. So, you donât want me to manage things. Okay, then. I wonât.â Nancy finished speaking and deliberately turned around while pretending to be angry.
Sure enough. Nicholas immediately grabbed her and pulled her into his arms effortlessly.
At the same time, he lowered his head and his beard lightly brushed against Nancyâs head as he chuckled. âIâll only let you manage things, not anyone else. Youâre my little busybody.â
âThat works.â
Nicholas used his beard to brush against her head again, and she immediately burst into laughter while avoiding his playful advances.
He hadnât shaved in the past two days because he had been in the hospital, and his beard was indeed a bit prickly.
However, as soon as he teased her, Nancy couldnât resist and laughed while playfully pleading. âAh! Itâs tickling me. Nicholas, it tickles! Let me go!â
âIs it really itchy?â
After teasing her for a while, he finally let go.
She immediately grabbed his hand and said, âThe view is nice here, but the balcony is quite windy and youâve just been discharged from the hospital. Itâs not good to be out here in the wind. Letâs go inside. and rest.â
âOkay.â Nicholas nodded.
During the afternoon nap, he lifted the covers and pulled Nancy into the bed.
Her face instantly turned red and she said, âNicholas, your body hasnât fully recovered yet. You need rest. Itâs not appropriate to-â
Upon hearing her words and seeing the expression on her face, he immediately understood that she was thinking in a different direction.
However, he didnât explain right away and instead teased her. âNot appropriate for what?â
âNot... not appropriate for... physical activity.â
She blushed even more when she finished the last few words.
Nicholas hugged her tightly and his sensual voice whispered in her ear gently. âOh? I just wanted to take a nap while holding you. Youâre thinking of something else, huh? It seems like youâre already a bit impatient.â
Once he said those words, Nancyâs face turned even redder.
She reached out and playfully punched him with her small fist while saying. âYouâre such a bad boy. Itâs not like Iâm in a hurry.â
âWho was the one talking about physical activities just now?â
2/4 âI I-L. L.â Nancy stammered as she was unable to find the right words.
In the end, she could only tug at his clothes and bury herself shyly in his embrace. Above her head, she could hear his hearty laughter once again.
A moment later, she felt Nicholas hugging her tightly and saying, âLetâs take a nap.â
She opened her eyes only when she heard his steady breathing from above.
She looked at him and closed her eyes again. Then, she quickly fell asleep in his arms.
When they woke up, it was already afternoon.
The wind outside moved the curtains gently.
Soft sunlight streamed into the room, casting a golden glow over everything.
On the bed, the two of them were quietly embracing each other. It was a picture of exquisite beauty.
Nancy tried to get up, but Nicholas held tightly onto her waist. âStay with me for a little longer.â
âHavenât you slept enough?â
âWell, itâs comfortable holding you and I want to sleep a bit more.â Nicholasâ voice was slightly hoarse and very sensual.
She hugged his waist and said sweetly, âYes, sir. Iâll stay with you a little longer.â
âGood girl.â
The two of them lingered in bed for a while, and when they finally got up, it was already around 4.00PM or 5.00PM.
Nicholas checked his phone and saw that he had received Lynnâs message a while ago.
Lynn said that the plane tickets had been booked for 9.00PM..
With Nancy in his arms, Nicholas rested his head on her shoulder and whispered, âI want to eat the cake you made for me.â
Does he want to eat cake?
She was a bit surprised. âBut you said you donât like desserts, right?â
âI donât love them, but when Iâm holding you, it feels sweet and I want to taste something sweet that you love.â
âOkay. Get up quickly then, and weâll go buy the ingredients. Iâll make it for you.â
âDonât we have the ingredients at home?â Nicholas asked.
âWe do, but theyâve been sitting for a while. Letâs get some fresh ones from the supermarket.â
3/4 âThat might not leave us with enough time,â he said reluctantly, even though he didnât want to.
Nancy asked with confusion, âNot enough time? How can there not be enough time? I can make it quickly. I promise youâll have it tonight.â
âNancy...â Nicholas began to speak, his gaze heavy. âI mean, I might not have enough time to make it to the airport.â
Nancyâs heart sank when she heard the word âairport.â
âAre you going to the airport? Where are you going and why?â It took her a moment to find her voice.
Nicholas held her tightly, clearly in pain. âIâm sorry, Nancy. I need to take a trip.â
âWhen are you leaving?â
âIn a while. My flight is at 9.00PM,â Nicholas replied.
She felt as if her heart had shattered.
He had only just returned to be with her for a short time, and his injuries hadnât even fully healed, yet he was already eager to go abroad.
âDo we really have to go? Canât you stay?â It was difficult for her to express her thoughts.
âIâm sorry, Nancy.â
âThen... at least go later, once youâve fully recovered. You still have injuries. How can you expect me to be at ease?â
âAnd besides, I donât want you to go at all.â Nancy clung tightly to Nicholasâ clothing, filled with reluctance.
