Chapter 19
Mr. Sallow's Sinful Wife by Maisie Chasey
Chapter 19 Nicholasâ Possessiveness Nancy almost thought she had misheard. Why would he throw her pajamas without any reason?
âYou did this?â Nancy told herself not to get angry, so she tried to suppress her anger and asked patiently.
âYes.â
His response was incredibly calm.
âNicholas... This time, Nancy finally got angry. She stood with her hands on her hips, looking like an enraged kitten, and said infuriatingly, âYou must explain why you threw away my pajamas.â
âThose styles are from several years ago and look quite childish.â
âHow are they childish?â
Nancy was annoyed. Her pajamas were adorable, but why did he consider them childish?
âOne of them is Doraemon, another is Pikachu, and thereâs also a little bunny. Nancy, donât forget, you bought these pajamas when you were still a teenager. But now...
âNow what?â
âNow youâre already married. Youâre a young wife.
Ahem... After saying that, Nicholas deliberately coughed a couple of times and then continued to read his book as if nothing had happened.
Nancyâs face turned as red as a monkeyâs butt. She felt that the word âyoung wifeâ was quite ambiguous.
With no other choice, she returned to the bathroom to shower.
After bathing, Nancy put on the lace pajamas, got into the quilt, and quickly wrapped herself tightly.
Just as she relaxed, suddenly, Nicholas put down his book and leaned over, saying, âDo you think I canât see you if you dash?â
Nancy was speechless.
She now strongly suspected that Nicholas was doing this on purpose. He knew she was shy, yet he teased her like this.
1/5 Her face was already blushing when she came out of the shower.
Now, it was even redder.
She almost teared up.
âYou know how to make fun of me.â Nancy pulled off the quilt and covered her whole head.
Nicholas reached out and pulled her out from under the blanket. Nancy was panting, and her face was even redder due to the warmth under the blanket.
âWhy do you always love to get under the quilt?â
âIs the air inside so refreshing?â
Nancy glared at him, wondering about his strange thoughts.
âI didnât. Who told you to keep on teasing me for nothing.â
âWho says Iâm teasing you?â Nicholasâ body moved closer. His warm and moist breath brushed against Nancyâs face. âNancy, donât forget, we havenât divorced yet.â
âI donât.â
âSo, for now, we are still married. What if I want you to fulfill your marital duties?â
This statement was genuinely ambiguous.
Nancy suddenly sat up and pushed him away. âAre you trying to get back at me? Because I ruined your intimacy with Madelline during the day, so youâre teasing me on purpose to see me embarrassed?â
Nicholasâ dark eyes gradually calmed down. He reached out and ruffled Nancyâs hair, his deep voice whispering in her ear.
âThatâs not what I meant. I want to tell you that you need to protect yourself.â
âEspecially when it comes to men. You must keep your guard up.â
Nancy looked at him and said, âYou are also a man, so does that include you?â
âYes, it includes me.â Nicholas nodded seriously.
No one knew how impulsive he was when he saw Nancy and how restrained he was to control himself.
After Nancy fell asleep, Nicholas lifted the blanket and went to the balcony 2/5 The night was deep, with stars scattered in the sky.
He lit a cigarette, smoked silently and frowned deeply.
Two years were neither long nor short.
But he couldnât deceive himself. His state of mind had indeed undergone a significant change.
At the beginning of their marriage, he looked forward to the end of the three years and getting the divorce certificate as soon as possible. However, at some point, he began to feel a little unwilling.
She was beautiful, highly educated, gentle yet adorable, intelligent and clever. She was a type that many men would adore. If the divorce were confirmed, many men would vie for her attention.
The thought of her holding another manâs hand and sleeping in another manâs arms in the coming days made him uneasy.
Of course, Nicholas classified all these emotions into a manâs possessiveness after smoking a cigarette.
It was because she was still Mrs. Sallow, his wife.
He was sure these feelings would vanish once they completed the divorce proceedings and went their separate ways.
Nicholas firmly told himself that this must certainly be the case.
However, the time has changed, and how can he know he was completely wrong?
Soon, it was the day of Grandpaâs birthday celebration.
Nancy had deliberately woken up early, thinking she would wake up earlier than Nicholas. Still, to her surprise, the moment she opened her eyes, she discovered that someone was already in a suit. and tie, and everything was ready.
Nicholas was dressed in a black suit, impeccable without a single wrinkle, making him look. handsome, refined, and elegant.
Looking at him, Nancy canât resist sighing. Some people were born with the perfect figure and look good in everything they wear.
Moreover, they are also Godâs favorites. Their facial features are so exquisite that they are flawless.
She suddenly thought of the baby in her belly.
If it was a boy, he must be very handsome like him.
3/5 âWhy do you wake up so early? Not sleeping any longer?â
Nicholas asked, seeing her wake up.
âNo.â Nancy shook her head. âToday is Grandpaâs birthday. How can I sleep in? I must be the first to wish him a happy birthday.â
âWell, you wonât make it in time. Dad and Mom have already gone.â
Nancy was speechless.
However, her mind worked quickly, and she immediately said, âI canât compete with Dad and Mom. After all, they are his son and daughter-in-law, so they should be the first. I meant the grandchild generation.â
Just as she finished speaking, she heard Nicholasâ deep voice saying, âSorry, Mrs. Sallow, I donât think you can be the first in the grandchild generation.â
âWho said that?â
Nicholas raised an eyebrow and said, âIâm all ready. Iâll go now.â
Nancy wasnât afraid at all, pouting at him. âGo ahead, hurry. If Grandpa sees only you, heâll think youâve bullied me again. On such a joyous occasion, do you think Grandpa would rather see us as a couple or each of us alone?â
She hit the point.
Nicholas was defeated and looked at his watch. âIâll give you fifteen minutes.â
âOkay.â
Although he gave her a miserably short amount of time, luckily, it was summer, and the clothes. were easy to put on.
As for makeup, her skin was always good, soft, and fair, as smooth as silk. She only needed a bit of cosmetics.
Moreover, for todayâs occasion, she hadnât planned to attend as Nicholasâ wife.
Nicholas frowned, seeing that Nancy didnât put on the prepared formal dress. âWhy arenât you wearing it Those coming today are close relatives and good friends, and itâs not like weâre announcing it to the outside world. It wouldnât matter if they knew.â
Nancy shook her head. Td rather not. Since weâve kept it hidden for two years, thereâs no need to reveal my identity the day before our divorce.
Today is Grandpaâs party, and Iâm just here to accompany you 4/5 âWhat about Grandpa? How do you plan to explain it to him?â Nicholas asked, looking at her.
âDonât worry. Iâll find a way to convince Grandpa.â
âOkay,â
After preparing, they were ready to leave.
âWait.â Suddenly, Nancyâs gaze stopped at Nicholasâ neck.
She immediately turned around and found a matching tie to hand to Nicholas. âYou forgot your tie.â
Nicholas didnât reach out to take it. He lowered his head, his gentle voice slowly slipping out. âHelp me with it.â
âI am not good at it. If you donât mind, Iâll help you.
âGo ahead, I donât mind.â
Nancy nodded, and her delicate fingers first hung the tie around Nicholasâ neck.
At this moment, Nicholas stood up straight, and Nancyâs hand held onto the tie. Unexpectedly, she leaned forward.
Her nose suddenly bumped into Nicholasâ lips.
