Chapter 149
Mr. Sallow's Sinful Wife by Maisie Chasey
Chapter 149 Find Nancy (1)
Luke presented Nicholas with the photo on Instagram. Upon seeing Nancy, Nicholas became sober. The women were at the beach, radiating beautiful smiles. âSend me that picture,â Nicholas requested. Once he received the photo, he enlarged it, carefully examining Nancyâs smile. The more he looked, the more he yearned for her.
Luke then initiated a video call with Linda. Linda was enjoying herself with Nancy, holding hands and dipping their legs into the sea. When she received the video call, she released Nancyâs hand. âGive me a moment. I need to take this video call.â She answered and realized it was from Luke, but that wasnât the issue. The issue was that Linda noticed Nicholas sitting right beside him. Her smile vanished, and she coolly asked, âWhat is it?â
âAre you upset? Why the long face?â Luke asked, concerned.
Linda wanted to express her annoyance and frustration. âI canât believe you have time to call me instead of staying with your friend. Or is he feeling happy? Are you both celebrating?â
Luke wondered why she was saying that. Then he noticed the wine cellar and Nicholas on the screen, and it all made sense. He quickly responded, âNo, trust me, Linda. Iâm innocent.â
âLike hell I will. Birds of a feather, Luke. Nicholas hurt Nancy. I donât want to see either of you now. Goodbye.â
Linda hung up. Luke stared at his phone, feeling lost. Then he looked at Nicholas and almost cried. âShe said that weâre birds of a feather and doesnât want to see us. You dragged me into this mess.â
Nicholas glared at him. âWhere is she shooting her film now?â
âSwania.â
Nicholas left without saying a word.
Luke hastily said, âHey, are you just going like that?â
âYes. Iâm going to Swania,â Nicholas replied.
Lukeâs eyes widened, and he stared at Nicholas in disbelief. âDonât tell me youâre going to see your ex-
wife.â
The term âex-wifeâ didnât sit well with Nicholas. âLinda is there too. Are you coming or not?â Nicholas inquired.
âNo,â Luke adamantly stated. âShe said she doesnât want to see me, so why should I go?â
Nicholas looked away and departed. Just as he was opening the door and leaving, Luke stood up and stretched his arms. âBut I have a lot of free time lately. I can go to Swania and have a vacation. Youâre paying for everything, though Samuel smiled and playfully threw a glass at Luke. âTrying to take advantage of him while heâs down, huh?â
Luke tossed the glass back. âHey, he wants his wife back, and heâs wealthy. Iâm just riding on his coattails.â
âGood luck to both of you.â Samuel then left.
Nicholas and Luke headed to the airport.
The night wore on, and the beach grew cooler. More people arrived. Fortunately, it was already dark, so no one could recognize the women unless they took a closer look. They could enjoy themselves to their heartâs content.
The waves grew larger. Initially, they only reached the womenâs ankles, but now they were at knee level. As the waves crashed in and the women relished the coolness of the water, Nancy suddenly grabbed Lindaâs arm and sprinted ahead at full speed.
They went further and further until they reached a secluded area with few people around. Nancy stopped and cupped her hands around her mouth. She shouted with all her might, âIâll forget about you, Nicholas! I will!â
She no longer wanted to harbor feelings for him. It was torturous. Linda joined in. She placed her hand on Nancyâs shoulder.
âJust let it out, Nancy. Weâll live our best lives. Donât feel sad. Nicholas may be gone, but youâll find someone who truly loves you.
Nicholas is just one man. We donât care about him.â
She took out her phone and showed Nancy her gallery. âI have a ton of guys here. Different types too. Sexy young hunks; Burly, dominant men and cute younger boys. Oh, and mature, attractive older men as well. Theyâre captivating and gentle. Youâll find someone who suits you. And, and this and this and this. Theyâre attractive. Their bodies are perfect. I went through a phase of being into muscular men. Oh, and this one. Jonathan Solomon. Heâs my idol, and heâs the best.â
The mention of Jonathan turned Linda into a fangirl. She was doing her best to uplift Nancyâs spirits. Initially, Nancy wasnât interested, but when she looked up and saw Lindaâs eyes sparkling, she became intrigued. âYouâre right. He doesnât even want to like me. Why should I continue holding onto him?â
Linda grew more enthusiastic and introduced all the attractive men in her gallery to Nancy. In the end, Nancy started to imagine being surrounded by handsome guys. There were plenty of good-looking men in the world, but Linda had half of them in her contacts. However, Nancy considered herself a failure. Even though she had seen so many men, she still believed Nicholas was the most handsome and masculine, and she thought he had the most attractive physique of them all.
âNancy, youâre hopeless,â Nancy cursed herself. Then she realized one problem. âLinda, wonât Luke get jealous if he sees this gallery?â
âYeah, right,â Linda replied. âOur phones are private. We would never check each otherâs phones. We were very clear about that.
Nancy...â Linda lowered her voice and sadly said, âLuke and I arenât a typical couple. Everyone says I date him for his power and money, while he dates me for my looks and body, so thatâs why we get along. Maybe he even thinks so too. He comes from a wealthy family, and I know he wonât marry me. Thereâs no future with him.â
âDo you love him, then?â Nancy asked.
Linda gazed up at the stars above. Softly, she said, âThere are many stars in my life. They twinkle in the night, and theyâre beautiful. But heâs my sun. He radiates warmth and illuminates my life. Nancy, honestly, I donât want to hide it from you. Iâve found the man I desire.â
Nancy turned around and stared at her friend in disbelief, her eyes wide. âYou mean Luke?â
