Mr. Sallow's Sinful Wife by Maisie Chasey
Chapter 11 Divorce Agreement When Nancy woke up, she saw white ceiling and smelled disinfectant.
Nicholas was sitting on the side. When he saw her wake up, he strode over. âHow do you feel? Does it still hurt?â
âBetter.â
She was very pale. There was almost no color on her lips.
âI had someone to heat up the porridge. Eat some.
Nicholas opened the thermos bucket and scooped out pumpkin porridge.
This was Nancyâs favorite porridge.
âI donât want to eat.â She shook her head.
Nicholas walked over with the porridge. âYou just woke up. You didnât have dinner, and very weak. How can you recover if you donât eat.â
you are âWhat your husband said makes sense. You must replenish your body.â A doctor wearing a white coat walked in.
Upon seeing the doctor, Nancy immediately sat upright.
At the same time, she looked at Nicholas. âI want to eat some bananas. Can you buy some for me?â
âI will ask Lynn to buy it,â Nicholas said.
Nancy frowned slightly. âI want to eat what you bought personally.â
âOkay, Iâll go.â
After Nancy was sure that he had left for a while, she looked at the doctor. âDoctor, my baby Her voice trembled so much that she dared not ask any more questions.
The doctor smiled and looked at her kindly. âDonât worry. You and the baby are both lucky. The baby is still sleeping intact in your belly.â
âReally?â Nancy smiled instantly.
The previous tension and sadness were swept away 1/5 Perhaps she was too happy. She smiled and shed tears. Thatâs great. Thank you, Doc!â
âYouâre welcome. This is my responsibility. Although the fetus is safe for now, remember not to take it lightly after this, especially in the first three months. You must be extremely cautious and avoid dangerous movements. Keep a good mood. If you are happy, the baby in your belly will be happy, too.â
âWell, definitely.â Nancy nodded vigorously.
âAlso, you must remember to check up on time.â
âOkay.â
Looking at the pumpkin porridge on the table, the doctor added, âYou must eat every meal on time. If you donât eat, the baby will not have nutrition. Remember this, you must be fine if you want your baby to be fine.â
âI made a note of it. I will eat on time in the future.â
âI see that your husband is very concerned and attentive to you. Are you sure you donât want to tell him about such an important pregnancy?â
In the emergency room, Nancy pulled her sleeve and kept begging. âDoc, the person waiting outside is my husband. He doesnât know about my pregnancy yet. Please donât tell him.â
Nancyâs eyes gradually dimmed. âWe are going to divorce soon. He doesnât want this child, but I want to keep it.â
âSo, please do me this favor and donât tell him, Doc. Otherwise, I may not be able to keep the baby.â
âWhat ... âThe doctor sighed. He felt sorry for Naricy. âEven if you have no alternative and must get a divorce, I still suggest you consider it carefully. Children can only be healthy and grow up happily under the joint care of mother and father, âThank you, Doc. I will consider your suggestion seriously.â
When Nicholas came back, Nancy was eating porridge.
She held the bowl in one hand and a spoon in the other, eating spoonful after spoonful, looking very serious.
What surprised him was that after she finished a bowl, she asked him, âIs there more?â
âThere is, Nicholas scooped another bowl and handed it to Nancy.
2/5 Nancy finished the second bowl of pumpkin porridge and then picked up a banana.
The banana was huge. After eating two bowls of porridge, her stomach was full, so after some thought, she put it down again.
âWhy did you put it back?â Nicholas frowned.
âIâm quite full. I canât finish it. Iâm afraid it will be wasted.â
Nicholas picked up the banana and peeled it. He took half of it and then handed the remaining half to Nancy.
He finished half a banana in just two bites. Nancyâs eyes widened. âDonât you hate bananas?â
âItâs okay to eat once in a while.â
âOh. Iâm sleepy. I want to sleep.
âOkayâ
When Nancy woke up the next day, she saw him still in front of the hospital bed, then looking at him in disbelief. âYou didnât go back yesterday?â
The Nicholas in front of her had messy hair and a wrinkled shirt. He didnât look like a handsome and elegant young man like before at all.
Moreover, what surprised Nancy even more was that he stayed with her for one night.
There was a knock on the door. Lynn walked in with a bag. âMr. Sallow, the clothes are all ready.
âYes.â
In the bathroom, there was the sound of running water.
Every drop seemed to fall on Nancyâs heart, making her mind wander.
âNicholas, what kind of person are you?â
âYou donât love me. Why are you treating me so carefully and thoughtfully? If you were crueler, I may be able to leave more decisively.â
When Nicholas came out of the bathroom, he returned to his usual appearance, with fine facial features. Heâs as handsome as ever.
âDid you bring it?â He said to Lynn with a cold voice.
âItâs all printedâ
3/5 Lynn respectfully presented it to Nicholas with both hands.
âYou go out first.â
After Lynn went out, Nicholas and Nancy were the only two people left in the room.
âThere was a multinational meeting last night. It was already past four oâclock when the meeting ended, so I just made do with it here,â Nicholas explained.
So that was what happened. Nancy knew that she was overthinking.
Nicholas was sitting on a chair on one side. His body was so tall and straight. His slender fingers. were flipping through the paper in his hand while he read every page carefully.
âYou asked Lynn to go out because you had something to say to me?â Nancy asked.
âWell, wait a minute,â Nicholas said. His eyes are still on the document in his hand.
Nancy didnât know what he was looking at.
About five minutes later, he closed the document, walked over with his long legs, and handed the paper. He said in a calm voice, âThis has been revised according to your request. You can take a look.â
When she saw the words âdivorce agreementâ, Nancy suddenly wanted to laugh.
It turned out that this was what he read so seriously. It was ridiculous that she thought he was reviewing documents.
Her request?
When did she make a request?
She clearly didnât say a word.
Nancy held the âdivorce agreementâ, feeling her palms scalding hot. It took her a while to calm. down. She raised her head and asked him in confusion, âI donât remember what request I made.â
âRead it carefully first,â Nicholas said.
After ten minutes, Nancy finished reading the divorce agreement., She didnât know whether to cry or laugh.
Nicholas re-divided the property, giving her two villas, two luxury cars, and directly promised her 1.4 million in cash.
Haha. Nancy raised her head, tears welling up in her eyes.
4/5 âHe is willing to give me 1.4 million in cash?â
She was an orphan and never knew she could be so valuable.
To divorce her, he was really willing to spend his money. So generous.
âNicholas, you still think I told your mom about our divorce after all? The purpose is to blackmail you so I can get more property when we divorce. Am I right?â
Nancy looked at him and suddenly felt she had failed.
She had been his wife for two years. In his mind, she was just a gold-digger who would do anything for money.
âWhat if I want 14 million? Nicholas, for the sake of divorce, will you agree to all my requests?â Nancy asked with a wry smile.
5/5
