Married To The Cursed Lycan King by JaneChunli
Chapter 8
Auroraâs Pov:
âDidnât I forbid you to never leave the house without my knowledge?â
I felt my b*dy vibrate under the effect of his commanding tone. His intense piercing gaze lingered. on me as my pulse raced. His brows were drawn together, creating a frown on his face. His whole presence was commanding and his considerable height intimidated me. Iâd be certain I was reaching his shoulders. The night was quiet as his deep condensing voice cut through, drifting off in a distance. The night crickets seemed to quiet down when his authoritative tone drizzled into the night.
I was too scared, too scared to even analyze the whole situation. Too scared to even defend myself. I have no idea who this man is when heâs upset. All I ever heard of him were bad tales and nothing more. His brooding eyes were even enough to snap the life out of me and right there was the man I call my husband.
I hung my head. Gaping at my reflection on the ground. I hoped my reflection wouldnât betray me just as my voice did. My head was devoid of words or excuses to give. I couldnât think of a possible way to defend myself but I already disobeyed him. I thought I would return in time before he noticed my absence and I was still yet to comprehend how he found me. For some reason I was thankful heâs here or else Iâd have lost my way.
âWhy are you suddenly silent?â His voice was quiet yet it was etched with anger. âThe words cut from your mouth or?â
I lifted my head to meet the glint of anger in his eyes. It was dangerously affecting me but I willedâ myself to maintain eye contact with him. This is my husband and it wasnât sensible for a wife to be so terrified by her husband. My insides were screaming with trepidation but I mustered the courage to face him.
âIâm sorry,â the signature words of mine came rushing out before I could stop myself. I noticed him let out a grunt. A frustrated grunt to be precise. Honestly I never expected him to be the one here, as an influential socialite, I thought he would have sent one of his workers to go on a search party if my absence was detected.
He hissed a bit and sighed. Nipping on her lower l*p. âDidnât I tell you to refrain from using that word? Is that the only word you are good at saying?â He hissed in anger, showing his frustration.
âIâm sorryâ¦..â I was cut off when he raised a hand in the air, silencing me. His detached gaze fixated
on me.
âEnough!â He lifted his voice a bit but the tone did make my b*dy tremble.
I immediately shut up. Didnât want to infuriate him any further. Didnât know what this man is capable of when he is upset and I didnât want to upset him more as silence crept between us. He simply stared at me and I liked it more when heâs speaking than when he is quiet while giving me

that look. Those emerald green eyes lingered on me, and as much they looked familiar. I couldnât wrap my fingers where I had seen them.
âThank you, I said.â Breaking the tense silence between us.
He arched his brow. His countenance changed as a glint of surprise appeared along the lines of his eyes. He was prolly wondering why I was thanking him.
âFor coming to get me,â I added. âI lost my way but Iâm glad you are here.â
âTrying to escape the consequences of disobeying my orders, huh?â His eyes darkened,
I parted my l*ps to defend myself but he cut me short and ordered. âGet into the car!â
I gulped. Unable to lift a foot or move a muscle. My heart was thumping so harsh that I thought it would burst out. My adrenaline was kicking in high gear at all the possibilities of what lies for me when I reached home with himâ¦
Suddenly my mind flashed back to the mall. At the words of the two phone attendants.
âWonder who is the unlucky girlâ
âI already feel pity for her.â
What kind of man is he that his name was being dragged in the mud and from his attitude, heâs very much unfazed. This is pure hell, Iâm in this hell against my wish. Against my mental stability- all because my father couldnât fulfill his own side of the bargain and saw me fit to cover up for it.
I flinched when his big callous hand gripped my wrist and led me toward the car- more like he yanked me. I winced at his tight grip but I didnât dare complain. I followed him to the exotic luxurious car parked at the safe corner of the road and sat in the front passengerâs seat. He stirred the car back to life, the engine smell intensifying the bitter knot that formed in the stomach.

My b*dy was trembling as I reached for the seat belt. My hand fumbled with it, my fingers shaking immensely no matter how much I tried to control them from quivering.
I glanced at him and saw he was already looking at me, watching me fight with the seat belt. I forced a smile on my face and pulled my gaze from him, still fumbling with my seat beltâ¦â¦.but then my breath hitched. My blood lay frozen in my system when he leaned close to me, his fingers brushing mine lightly. I saw my b*dy react to that action. I swallowed hard, shutting my eyes. immediately and leaning my back against the seat to avoid any other part of my b*dy contacting
him.
His strong intoxicating cologne permeated my head and I almost caught myself nuzzling in his scent. Thereâs nothing good about this man so Iâd be making the mistake of appreciating his scent. After a minute, I noticed his breath tickling the bridge of my nose wasnât doing it anymore causing me to snap my eyes open..

He had fixed my seat belt for me and pulled away from me. âThank you,â I threw him a nervous smile.
He didnât utter a word anymore and hauled out into the busy roads, driving home. Our home. Till now, I found it hard to digest, Iâm the wife of the one man everyb*dy shuddered at his appearance. It never crossed my mind but I wondered how heâd view me when he noticed the sole reason why my father gave me to him.
The drive was a silent one as I decided to busy my eyes by staring at the crescent moon there in the sky. Following every sl*pstream of every lane we took coupled with the night breeze crashing in my face and caressing my skin.
In no short time, we arrived home. He killed off the engine in the garage and parked it along with his other cars and stepped down. I did as well and followed him inside. The fear I was feeling at while ago returned. Fright rose up on my sleeves at what was to happen next. He was oddly quiet and it wasnât sitting right with me. What was he thinking? Why wasnât he scolding me? What punishment does he have for me for going against him? His silence was terrifying me the most.
Immediately I stepped in. I saw every one of his workers assembled in his sitting room. Each of them had a pale look across their faces. Why are their faces like that? Like someone died but the moment they saw me, their eyes and faces lit up as one approached me immediately. The man I met the day I walked into this house as Lee Otto Fraserâs wife.
âMaâam, where have you been? Do you know how worried we all were?â The old man said, having at look of worry on his face. I looked away from him to the rest and they had the same pale worried. looks plastered on their faces.
âIâm sorry for getting you all worried,â I apologized. Forcing a smile on my face. âIâm really sorry.â
âWe thought youâre gone. One of the maids asserted, taking me by surprise.
âGone?â I raised a brow. Why would I do that? Even if I leave, where will I go? Iâm rejected everywhere. Lee Otto Fraser was at least kind enough to take me in as his wife.
âYes,â the old man said. âYou didnât even alert anyone you were going out. We were so worried something had happened to you but most importantly, we thought you had left because your belongings werenât in your roomâ¦.just likeâ¦.
âYou all can leave now,â Otto halted the old man and waved a dismissive hand in the air. âI need alone time with my wife.â
âYes sir,â they all chroused and started to dispatch to their various designated posts. I was left all alone with the man called my husband. I stood there like a rat trapped in a snare. I gulped hard and waited for the worst to happen, feeling a little bit pale when every worker exited the sitting room leaving me at his mercy.
He sat down, staring at me. âWere you trying to make a run from me? Didnât I warn you never to

leave this house without notifying me?â
I wanted to say Iâm sorry but I didnât want to annoy him further. I instead kept mute.
âWere you trying to go against my orders! I told you whenever you broke one, you have broken all. Why then did you leave without telling me or any of my workers?â
âThey seemed all busy and I didnât want to disturb them because of a trivial matter.â I pleaded with my eyes. âI apologize for getting you troubled. I didnât leave, I wasnât planning to leave and Iâm ready to accept any punishment you give me.â
I bowed, bracing myself to take whatever thatâs been thrown to me. Iâm used to it, my b*dy is used to abuse and pain and whatever he does to me wouldnât outnumber the abuse I went through in my fatherâs house. This was my life and my fate.
A couple of silence swept across us when he finally got up and approached me. I flinched. backwards but he grabbed my hand. Raising my face to look at him.
My heart raced, meeting his intense eyes.
âGet one thing straight,â he began. His voice was low but warning. âYou are mine, you are my property. You belong to me and donât ever dream of crossing me like you did today or disobeying me like you did today. I will pretend this never happened.â
With those words, he pulled away from me and left.
That same night, I turned my position on the floor. Lying on my back and facing the ceiling. Wondering and asking why he didnât do anything to me for disobeying him. Wondering why he didnât punish me like he said he would do if I disobeyed him? These questions troubled my mind with no definite answers to them. Who is Lee Otto Fraser? What kind of man is he?
Restless and with sleep far from me, I stood to my feet. My eyes landed on the luxurious wall clock, it was 1:40 am, mid night/day. I exited my room and made my way to the kitchen. This house was. eerily quiet with the lights out. I managed to grope in the dark with the help of the light from the moon and dim lights in the hallway.
I went into the kitchen to quench my thirst and after doing my business. I walked out, approaching my room only to see a quick swift of a shadow, I thought maybe Otto was still awake but then I followed the shadow, a gasp escaping my l*ps when I saw a figure in a hooded black cloak hurrying out of the sitting room door in the middle of the night.
My b*dy quivered, my heart banged against my chest while following the figure. Afraid and fighting the urge not to ask the question but ended up asking it.
âWhoâs there?â
