Married To The Cursed Lycan King by JaneChunli
Chapter 18
Lee Otto Fraserâs Pov:
She jolted at the tone of my voice. âI said GET OUT!â I was surprised too by the tone of my voice but I could care less. Didnât know why I was a bit upset to see her in my room since I couldnât remember what happened last night and how she ended up in my room.
I expected her to leave. I expected her to obey and do as she was told but she just sat there, staring back at me with that startled look in her eyes. âDidnât you just hear what I said?â I queried, quite caught off guard at her behavior.
âYou collapsed yesterday, Mr Lee,â she began. Rebelling for the first time. I gaped at her in astonishment. She could actually talk and not act dumb all the time.
âAnd what does that have to do with you? Whether I collapse or not?â
âYou are my husband,â she responded, taking me by surprise. And it is my duty as your wife to take care of you.â
My mouth parted in awe at her answer. Starâstruck at the words that flew out of her mouth. Silence crept between us with our gaze doing the most talking. I furrowed my brows, studying her.gaze. What was she doing now? What must be going on in her mind?
âCanât believe you actually know how to talk.â
She lifted a brow. Puzzled. Bet she must be pondering what I meant by that. Another silence ensued. between us when she reached out a hand again to rest against my forehead. âHow are you feeling this morning? You were burning up so much last night?â
I drew away from her, scrambling out of the bed. âYour duties as a wife will only be dictated by me. and I want you to leave this room right now.â I walked over to the door, opening it and giving her the heads up to leave.
She got up. Picking up the bowl on my night side and the towel I dropped beside it. She made her way to me, lowering her head a bit. âIâm sorry for going against you but I was just concerned when you fell last night.â
She lifted her face to me, and stared at me briefly. Her eyes twinkled under the led lights on my ceiling. I hated to admit it but she has beautiful brown eyes matching her hair color. She stared at me a little much longer when a curious question arose within me.
âWhat were you doing awake last night?â
âNothing. I couldnât sleep and I came out to get some water because I was thirsty and thatâs when I saw you collapse. I know I shouldnât have violated your rules but you practically werenât moving and I was terrified. None of the servants were awake.â
âI apologize once again. She wore a pale subtle smile across her face and started to walk out.

Chapter 18
âLet this be theâ¦â¦â I was cut short when Wilson strolled in, throwing me and her a look and that look says much. A practical look of skepticism and suspicion. She smiled at Wilson.
âGood morning, Sir.â She greeted him with a smile.
âGood morning, replied Wilson, returning the smile before directing his gaze to me once again. He furrowed a brow in question but I had no idea what thoughts were playing in his head.
She left and Wilson turned to me, a smirk playing on his l*ps. âDid she sleep in your room? Did you two share a room?â

that the first thing to ask me this morning?â I fell on the bed with my butt letting out a tired sigh. I shut my eyes momentarily and reopened them, startling a bit when I saw Wilsonâs face a bit close to mine. Pulling the ottoman close to me, and sat down.
âIâm curious,â the goading smile across his face stretched. His eyes twinkled and teased. âI mean you never let any of your previous wives share a room with you but you already shared one with her.
âI did not!â I snapped. Almost getting irritated at his questions.
âSo what happened?â He questioned. âWhy was she here if you didnât share one with her? I mean sheâs hella attractive and has a very nice seductive b*dyâ¦..you couldnât control yourself or?â
âYou do realize thatâs my wife, you are describing in that manner,â an irritated look appeared on my face.
Wilson bit his lower l*p and gave me a kinda smile someone caught doing a devious act gives. âIâm sorry Sir. I was just very curious. You never shared a room with your previous wives I mean. Or are you finally trying to warm up this time? And by the way what the two of you have isnât a real marriage. She was just an asset you acquired.â
âAre you basing her worth on land?â
âTechnically, not really but it is half the truth. She was given to you in exchange for the land.â
âWhere were you all night?â I asked, changing the topic.
âOhh, I forgot to tell you something came up at my maternal side so I left. Iâm sorry for leaving my work post.â He flashed me one of his biggest smiles. A thing he does whenever he wants to escape something.
âCould you refrain from using the word âsorry?â It agitates me.â I let out another whiff. Raising from my bed and walking over to the windows. Looking over the horizon, the beauty of Raleigh city lay bare under the cool morning sunlight. Car screeches were heard in a distance being carried off by the morning birds chirps. The sounds of machines from factories disrupted the tranquil of the peaceful morning.
I stared at the picturesque panoramic view of the city. Trying to refrain my thoughts from drifting

off to her but it eventually did. Her innocent face flashed across my face as her soft hair cascaded down her back. A few loose strands of her hair sheltered her face. When was the last time a woman. ever occupied my mind? I lost faith in the word âloveâ. It was a meaningless word with no depth. It was a word for the weak.
A word that lost its meaning after she tossed and smashed my feelingsâ¦â¦..
âWhy?â Wilsonâs voice came, coming to stand beside me, looking out of the window as well. âYou didnât have a problem with me apologizing so why now?â
âBecause Iâm tired of hearing it. Itâs basically her signature wordâ¦â¦ I trailed off, mumbling the words to myself, staring over to a safe side of the roads where a girl prolly the age of six or seven. dressed in a rain sweatshirt and pink pants with a fur scarf wrapped nicely around her n*eck. Matching the cream boots on her feet. She crouched low, stroking the flank of a white fur dog, a dog chain was wrapped over the dogâs n*eck as it stuck out its tongue. Wagging its tail.
A little smile found its way to my l*ps at a memory. At an incident that happened years ago in my life. A time where humans, werewolves and lycans were mortal enemies. Each was out to end the other. To humansâwerewolves, shapeshifters were a threat to them. A threat to their territory. The human hunters killed any werewolves and lycans in sight.
A perilous time for werewolves and lycans as they watched their kind reduce each day in the hands. of those human hunters. A time where werewolves and lycans formed an alliance to fight the human hunters until a ceasefire was called. I recalled running down the woods one night.
Trying to revert back into my human form but the hunters were a mile away from me. Their flashlights illuminate every corner of the woods, making it impossible to find a perfect spot to hide. I grunted and in my wolf form I sprinted deeper into the woods until a pain zapped across my b*dy when I felt something stuck in my sole. A spiky twig was pressed into the right sole, the pain. was so immense I almost howled but I had to suppress it to avoid being noticed by these trees which did little to help me.
âThere you are,â a voice said from behind. I already set my defense bottom, ready to lurch and tear apart who that voice belonged to. My nostrils flared, I quickened my claw nails, my fur complying with me aa they spiked up. I whirled to the direction of where the voice came and behold, I was stunned when my canine eyes flew onâ¦..
A teen girl, prolly the age of 14-16. Her brown hair streamed down her back and face and she was dressed in a floating floral dress with pink boots enclasped both on her legs.
âI have been looking for you, Derek.â Her girly voice rang in the silent woods except for the only noise heard was the rustling of the trees. Did she just give me a name? I didnât say a word and just stared at her with a curious look. Wasnât she afraid of a creature like me in front of her?
She paved her way to me, a wide grin plastered across her face. Something about her smile enchanted me that even when she drew close to me, I didnât attack or defend myself from her. A sense of peace was exuding from her and when she laid her hand on my flank and started stroking, I couldnât help but nuzzle under the warmth from her hand. I took this time to sniff her with my sensing ability.

Was she a human too? Was she a bait from the hunters to lure me? I shook my head, I donât think sheâs with them. Across her face was an innocent and pure joy like that of a kid who found their lost puppy. There was no scent from her.
Strange. I thought. She neither had the human scent or my kind scent attached to her. I proceeded to investigate more of her. Wanting to know what she was when an angry voice yelled from behind.
âGet away from that monster, child!â One of the human hunters yelled. Raising up a hunter long gun, and pointed it at me.
âMonster?â The teen girl gave them a strange look. âHeâs no monster, this is my pet puppy Derek.â She jumped in front of me and stretched out her arms as a form to shelter me from their attacks.
âGirl, that is no puppy. Thatâs a dangerous animal. No puppy is that big.â Another hunter, asserted in an impatient frustrated tone. Positioning the mouth of his pistol at me.
âWell mine is big. If yours isnât. mine is, Derek is like this, he is bigger than his mates because I feed him good healthy foods. And if you dare shoot my dog. Iâll tell my father.â
âWe will never shoot your puppy but that isnât a puppy, it is a monster!â The first man who seemed. like the leader of the gang yelled on top of his lungs.
âStop calling Derek a monster, he is no monster, heâs a good dog. Heâs a harmless little puppy.â She lowered, staring into my eyes. Her eyes gleamed with brightness as a sweet smile played across her. l*ps. She stroked my head while smiling. âDonât worry Derek, I will save you from them.â
âThey wonât hurt you.â She patted my head and it mesmerized me that this teen girl wasnât afraid of me. Either she was a gifted human or my kind who hasnât had their wolf self activated yet.
I groaned when the pain under my sole stirred up again. :Derek, are you hurt? Did they hurt you?â She sat down on the debris to examine my sole. âSorry Derek, I shouldnât have left you all alone
here.â
âSir, I think thatâs an ordinary dog and not the one we are looking for. Maybe they have the same similarities. We should leave.
âSheâs a freak,â the leader whimpered under his breath but audible enough for me to hear him, an angry, frustrated evident on his face. Special thanks to my abilities. âWe should leave.â
I was jolted back to the present when a loud shriek almost deafened my ears. It dawned on me that I had walked out of my room and walked into the toilet which was adjacent to the bathroom.
Shs was half clad before me but when our gaze met, she covered her bosom with her arms and swung away from me. Her back facing me,
The moment I realized what just happened. I quickly turned away from her. Gulping.
Feeling a familiar feeling stirring deep in my belly.
