35. I Am Falling

A late night update for my night owls sorry to keep you all waiting but time doesn't like me much and so I really lack it :|

Mahi's POV:

I was about to have the first bite of chole-bhature when the comforter was snatched away from me with someone calling my name loudly. "Oh god, wake up Mahiiiiii!" I sat up on my bed with a sudden jump.

"Where is my chole-bhature?" I looked here and there, turning my neck.

"What chole-bhature? Wake up, we have to go." Slowly the surrounding sat with my sense and my shoulder dropped realizing I was dreaming.

"What time is it?" I pulled the comforter back to go back to my delicious dream but before I could lay down it was again snatched from me.

"It's 4 in the morning, come on stand up, we have to go for the temple visit at 5 before leaving for Mumbai. Don't you remember?" Nitya's words registered in my still sleepy mind and I turned my head to look outside.

It was pitch dark. Why we have to go so early in the morning? These creatures won't even let me sleep peacefully. "Just give me 5 minutes, okay just 5 minutes." My eyes were still half closed.

I tried to grab the comforter but she took it and kept it at a distance from me. This girl! Sometimes I don't know if she is even my friend.

"No more 5 minutes! It's been almost half an hour that I am trying to wake you up." She pulled me by my arms to make me get down from the bed. I lazily kept my feet on the floor and she kept pulling me.

"Okay okay I am awake now, see." I showed her my eyes wide open and she lightly tapped my head.

"Yea sure now go and freshen up we have to get ready." She said and almost pushed me toward the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and then took a hot bath as the weather was a bit chilly in the morning.

When I came back with a white robe on. My eyes widened looking at the beauty standing in front of me. "Oh my my look at this gorgeous lady." My mouth hung open.

Nitya was wearing a white Saree with a beautiful golden border on it. Her hair was tied in a loose bun. Golden jhumkas adored her with gold bangles. She turned to look at me and smiled.

"You think I look okay in this?" She asked with a confused smile on her face.

"Good? You look gorgeous my lady!" I turned her to look in the mirror. "See you look absolutely beautiful." I said looking at her in the mirror's reflection and she smiled.

"Now come on it's your turn to get ready." She said, making me sit on the chair in front of the mirror.

"What?" I was taken aback.

"Everyone is wearing saree and you are no exception." She ended the discussion then and there leaving no room for it.

She applied some cream on my face, kohl, mascara and a light color lipstick. She instantly turned me from someone looking like a homeless person to a pretty girl. Even I was not able to recognize myself.

"Let's drape saree for you. Go change into these." She handed me a green blouse with an off white petticoat. I looked at her for a second and she glared at me. I went to the bathroom and came back after changing.

"Now just stand here, still." She said with an authoritative tone and I gave her a curt node with a smile. She swiftly draped the saree around me in just a few minutes.

"Were these." She forwarded me a necklace and jhumkas.

"No way! I am not wearing these." I instantly shook my head and stepped back. She Grabbed me by my wrist and slipped a bangle.

"Yes you are wearing them." Before she can get a hold of my other hand I took few steps away and stood beside the bad.

"No yaar Nitya I am not wearing them. They look heavy." Just the thought of that necklace being around my neck gave me a suffocating feeling.

"Stop overreacting Mahi, they are not heavy at all. Also if you will not wear them I won't tell you a secret." I narrowed my eyes at her last sentence.

"What secret?" I asked out of curiosity and came closer to her. As soon as I came a little closer she grabbed my other hand and slipped the other bangle in it.

"You have to wear them to know the secret. Besides, they will look beautiful on you." She said and again made me sit in front of the mirror.

I didn't resist this time and she made me wear all the jewelry. After she was done she stopped and put a small bindi on my forehead.

"Just look at you Mahi how beautiful you look." She took the kohl from the corner of her eye and placed her ring finger behind my ear for the evil eye.

This made me smile and I stood up from place to stand in front of her. "Now tell me the secret or I am taking them off." I pointed at the jewelry and she shook her head.

"Ahh.... the thing is.. I...I and I and...." She trailed off and my eyebrows knit in confusion.

"You okay Nitya? What is it?" I asked with concerned and she gave me a smile which was almost unnoticeable.

"Mahi I.... I and Sameer..... are dating." She spoke the last word in such a hurry I almost missed it.

"You and Sameer are what?" I again asked to confirm if I am hearing it right.

"We are dating." It took me few more minutes to register her words and when my mind finally made sense of it I almost jumped.

"Wait what? You are saying you and Sameer are dating?" She nodded her head in yes.

"Like dating dating?" She again nodded and that was all for me. I knew this would happen soon but not this soon.

"Oh my love I am so happy for you." I pulled her into a tight hug.

"You are?" Her voice sounded unsure so I pulled back.

"Of course I am. I know both of you so well and you both are my besties so how can I not be happy." Her lips curled up into a smile. "Tell me the details." I asked and she started filling me in with last night's events.

"You guys kissed?" My eyes were almost out of the socket.

"Who kissed who?" Priya's voice was heard. Nitya held my hand and I understood she didn't want me to tell her.

"Nothing just talking about a series." Priya's lips made an oh sound before speaking.

"Everyone is waiting outside. Better get going." I and Nitya stood up.

"You both go ahead, I will be there in a minute." I said and they both went outside the room. I went to the restroom.

I came out looking down at my saree. Fortunately it was not very hard for me to walk in it. I adjusted the plates and looked up.

"Jesus you scared me." He was standing on the door, his face facing the opposite side. Hearing my voice he turned.

Something changed behind those hazel eyes when they took me in. He didn't even blink once and kept staring at me.

His gaze moved from up to down and again back stopping at my face. As if everything stopped, it felt like he even forgot to breathe. A muscle in his jaw twitched slightly making me part my lips a little.

His sharp gaze burned my skin. I averted my eyes from his to relax the drumming heart in my chest. None of us spoke anything and it looked like he was not even going to start. The silence started to become unbearable and I finally decided to speak.

"Breath Mr Mehra...." To make the atmosphere a little light I decided to crack a joke. "Or else everyone will blame me if you will faint just by looking at me." I immediately regretted saying it.

Nothing changed just he started taking his steps toward me which only worsened the fast beating of my heart. I somehow managed to not move and kept standing there.

"Well even if I faint just by looking at my future girlfriend, I don't see a problem." He stopped just two steps away from me. Future girlfriend, these words were enough to bring a tickling feeling in my stomach.

"Future girlfriend? Don't you think you are being too confident?" I managed to hide the feelings those words brought with them.

He didn't say anything and just took those two remaining steps between us and snacked his arm around my waist, pulling me closer. My hands landed on his chest to balance myself. His long fingers firmly yet gently grabbed my bare waist, igniting sparks there.

Our faces, just a few inches apart. His sudden movement made my breathing become uneven. As if the air was stuck somewhere in my lungs. My eyes wide open, blinking at his gorgeous face.

"Correct me if I am wrong, dolphin. We are going to end up together." I was so focused on what happened a few seconds ago that I didn't even have the time to think of a reply.

His face came even closer and my eyes shut, not knowing what was going to happen next. I felt his lips on my right cheek. It was almost a feathering touch. His soft lips against my cheek felt like honey.

He kept his lips there a few more movements before removing them and I instantly felt the loss of touch. I slowly opened my eyes to look back at those hazel ones.

"I love it when this red shade adores your cheeks and knowing that I am the reason, makes me fall for you even more deeply and insanely." I didn't know how to respond to this. It was like words never existed for me and I can just keep on listening to his voice and him.

"Go, everyone is waiting. I will be there in a minute after changing. Just came here to look at my dolphin." His lips curled up, making me smile too, which I tried my best to hide but failed miserably.

He went and I kept on thinking how long I will save myself from falling for him or worse I already fell and I am not even complaining. I went outside and everyone was already there including Tanya and Ahan.

Their Outfits

"Woah who is this?" Rishi's dramatic voice made me turn toward him.

"Haw Rishi looks like your eyes are not able to recognize me anymore, why don't you get them checked before you go all blind." I replied with the same dramatic tone and he rolled his eyes. Idiot better not mess with me.

"Not in the early morning guys." A warning came from none other than our strict coach, Karan. They all wore white short kurta with white Mundu (dhoti).

After some time he came, with the same outfits as others. Flexing his muscles in his white kurta. His biceps were perfectly covered under that fabric. I inhaled a deep breath and Nitya called to leave with them.

I went and sat with them in Ishan's car while he went with others. We soon reached the temple, the sun was all ready to rise and the temple doors opened. We went inside and did a small pooja.

The atmosphere in the morning was fresh and calm. Everything felt quiet and refreshing. Everyone scattered to click photos and I started roaming around to look. Nitya was missing along with Sameer and it was quite obvious.

Now when they both are together and not going to fight like they used to, it's going to be a little easy around them. I stood beside a railing where the morning view could be seen. The light warm sun rays hit my face and I closed my eyes to feel everything.

We are leaving in a few hours. I should collect as many memories as I can from here. I felt two hands embracing me from behind. I knew it was him as soon as his collagen hit my nostrils.

"Someone might see us." I said, but who am I kidding. I didn't care much in this movement. He settled his chin on my shoulder, pulling me closer to him. My back flushed against his hard chest, sending thousands of butterflies to my stomach.

"Don't worry this side of the temple is not very crowded, they are busy clicking pictures in the front of the temple." He said slowly, his breath fanning over my ear.

We both remained silent, this was a comforting silence as if we both were trying to just live in this moment and not thinking beyond this.

"You are leaving in a few hours." He suddenly said and I opened my eyes. We would be staying away from each other for one more week. This feeling was not very much settling for me.

"I will miss you." His voice was slow but the emotions it evoked in me were just unexplainable. It sting a little, suddenly an ache ran through my veins.

I didn't like this feeling, the feeling of being away from him. I wanted to stay close to him, beside him. I turned and my hands went to his back, my head rested on his chest. I can hear his heartbeat.

"I don't want to go." I fisted his kurta. Not letting him go away, not now.

"You have to go, the editing of the music video is still not completed yet." His voice was slow and soothing. He wrapped his arms around me which instantly sent a shiver and it was more like assuring me.

I didn't even realized but tears were forming in my eyes. There was this pang of pain in my heart. He pulled back slowly cupping my face in his large palms. He wiped the tears which just fell.

"Don't do this to me dolphin, I won't be able to let you go. Just a few more days I promise, I will be back soon okay." He said and pecked my forehead.

"I will be waiting then." I said and he rewarded me with his beautiful smile. Oh god I am doomed because I know I am head over heels for him.
