16. Cunning Plans

Mahi's POV:

The engagement was a small function, not many people were there, just a few close ones. After the ring ceremony, we had dinner and now me and Kirti were talking about all the random stuff we could under the sky.

I was with Kirti the whole time, she is such a sweetheart and hilarious too. We are of the same age and I got to know that she was in the same college as me but I never saw her before today.

We exchanged numbers and she told me to come with her for shopping whenever I get time. Kabir came close to us, "By the way I totally forgot to tell you that you look bomb in this dress. Right Bhai?" She told me and then looked at him.

He didn't say anything but just nodded. What? He won't die if he will compliment me on top of that I wore traditionals for the first time in my life! Okay okay I wore it because Aparna aunty asked me but I won't deny that they look good on me and they are comfortable too.

"It's getting late, we should go now." Mr Jerk said and I nodded. I stood up and went toward Nandini di and Samarth bhai to bid my farewell and they told that they will definitely attend our show.

"Remember our deal okay, call me whenever you have time." She hugged me before we left the place. We both settled down in the car. It was already past 12 and now I was getting sleepy.

"Dolphin wakeup we are here." I heard him say and slowly opened my eyes. How come we reached this early? It's just been 5 minutes since I slept. "No, it's been over an hour since you have been sleeping." He said, Did I say it out loud?

"Do you want to sit here all night?" He asked when I didn't get down from the car. I quickly got out of his car without replying and made my way to my room. I was so sleepy but I somehow convinced myself and dragged my feet toward the bathroom to change and wash my face.

After I was done with my small night time routine, I was about to go to bed when I heard a knock. I opened the door and he was standing there. He already changed into casuals and his hair was still damp.

"What is it Mr Mehra?" I asked in a little serious tone.

"Just wanted to say goodnight." He replied. He is here just to wish me good night but there was no need for it.

"Okay you said it. Now bye." I almost closed the door but he kept his hand on it, stopping me from closing it.

"You looked beautiful today. Have a good night." He removed his hand from the door and walked away. What is wrong with him? I really can't understand him. I closed the door and went to my bed cuddling Bubbles. I tried to sleep but now sleep was nowhere.

My mind started recalling the incident from the evening. When his fingers traced my back it sent shivers to my body. It was a feeling I never felt before, it was not something which made me uncomfortable. I can see he is not the person how people describe him on tv or internet.

I picked up my phone and searched his name on Instagram "Goodness he has freaking 63 million followers!" I almost shouted but kept my hand on my mouth to stop myself. He is super famous. No doubt everyone is after him, of course I am exception.

"So why are you stalking him at 1 am in the morning? My inner voice said. Stop it Mahi and go to sleep. I closed my eyes and I don't know when I drifted off to sleep.

The sunrays fell on my face from the window. I rubbed my eyes and slowly got up, stretching myself. I went to the small balcony attached to my room. The weather looked perfect, slow morning breeze touched my face. My eyes went down and the backyard was perfectly visible from here.

I was admiring the view when his voice interrupted "Enjoying the view." I looked at the left side and saw him standing with a cup in his hand. Our balconies were just separated by a wall. Oh yea his room is just beside mine.

"Yes and you decided to interrupt." His face fell but I was just kidding.

"Oh sorry I won't bother you." He was about to leave "I'm just kidding Mr Mehra why you are being so serious." He stopped and turned toward me.

"So was I. Come on, get ready, we need to leave for the agency." He had a smirk on his face Again! He thinks he is funny, funny my foot he is a jerk. Stomping my foot I went back to my room to get ready and no way in hell I am going with him today.

I took out my black shorts and black tee along with a chex shirt. After brushing my hair I made my way to the living room.

Mahi's Outfit

"Good morning Mahi beta." Aparna aunty greeted me as soon as she saw me coming. And of course her son was already there. He was in a black shirt paired with beige pants. I went and took my seat.

Kabir's Outfit

"So you enjoyed last night?" Aparna aunty served me and then took her seat.

"Yes I did. I met Kirti and Nandini di, they are very sweet and kind." I took the first bite of the aloo paratha she made and as always they were super delicious.

"Good to hear that she sent me your picture from last time and you looked absolutely beautiful." Her words reminded me of last night when he said it. I looked at him and our eyes met for a millisecond before I looked away.

I was almost done when he asked, "You are coming with me right?" Why is he suddenly asking this? Whatever, I am not going with him. I opened my mouth to say no but Aparna aunty beat me to it.

"Of course she is coming with you, why are you asking?"

"No mom I have no problem but I think she doesn't want to come with me." Huh when did I say that? I mean I did say that but to myself and not him.

"It's not like that, I can hail an auto, he doesn't need to bother." I said looking at aunty.

"But you both are going to the same place then how can he be bothered right? Come on now go or you both will be late. I am also leaving in a bit." She said and went to her room.

I underestimated him, he purposely said that in front of her because he knows if she will say then I will definitely do it. He is so cunning that I want to punch him across his face.

"So we should go dolphin, or else we will be late. After all, you have a lot of practice to do." He said making an innocent face. Okay we will see Mr Mehra the game is definitely on!

"Sure Mr Mehra I also don't want you to be late." I gave him the fake smile of the year and walked toward the exit.

We both settled in the car and I played my favorite song "Matargashti" on the highest volume. He didn't say anything so I started singing along. I looked at him, his expressions were still the same and I wondered why he is so calm.

I want to irritate him just like he irritates me. Still I have a whole day I will figure out something. We soon reached the agency and I got down from the car, ignoring him I went to the music room.

Everyone was there and soon we started with our practice. Only a week is left so we all need to give our 100%. Sameer was back to normal because he was bickering with Karan and Rishi but still I don't think things are good between him and Nitya, well it never has been.

Soon it was lunch time and we went for lunch but I have a mission to accomplish. I bought samosas and sandwiches with a lot of green chutney (sauce). I took the tray and moved toward the elevator.

"Where are you going?" Sameer asked when he saw me moving toward another direction.

"Going to do what I do the best." He gave me a confused look but I ignored him and took the elevator to his floor. I knocked and he allowed me to come inside. I cleared my throat when he didn't look up at me.

"What are you doing here?" He asked amusingly, Mr Mehra, you will know soon.

"I brought you some snacks." I went close to him and placed the tray in front of him. I was standing beside the chair he was sitting on. I took the sauce cup and was about to place it on the table but purposely slipped it and it fell on his pants and shoes.

"Opps I am so sorry Mr Mehra my hand slipped." This time I made an innocent face and his eyes widened in response. I like the reaction but soon he changed it and leaned back on his chair.

"It must have been an expense suit but now what? It's not like you have another pair of clothes." I was enjoying the situation so much. What will happen when his employee sees him like this? My mind was thinking about it when he called for his secretary and he came in an instant.

"Akash, bring me one of my suits which I kept here for any emergencies. You see Ms Deshmukh managed to create one." He said, looking at me as if I was someone who lost to him. No, I am not giving up so soon.

I was leaving when his voice stopped me, I turned and a frown was clearly visible on my face.

"I tend to keep my diet oil free so why don't you take these snacks with you? I am sure you must be hungry after all the effort." This person seems so great to all but only I know how big of a jerk he is!

"You are such a..." I decided to not complete the sentence and left the room but managed to hear him chuckle ugh why is he like this?

I went back and everyone was already back. I missed my lunch break because of him just wow. "So you are back, come on we need to finish this song by today" Karan said and we all again got busy with our practice.

"Let's stop guys, we did enough. I don't have any more energy." I said because I was really tired and hungry.

"Okay let's wrap for today but make sure you all come by 8 am tomorrow." Sameer said and we all packed our stuff. Akash was there so I asked if Mr Mehra was still in his office and he said yes. Great, let's do this. I will just puncture his tire and I will go back with Sameer. I messaged Sameer to wait for me.

I quickly went to the parking area and spotted his car. I removed the valve cap of both the front tires and pressed down on the valve to let the air out. I saw him coming and the air was almost out too. I quickly stood beside the car as if I just reached there.

He came and saw the flat tire, when he looked at me I just shrugged my shoulders. "I think we can't go home in this car but don't worry about me. Sameer will drop me." I said with a smile and turned back to leave.

"But he just left." His words made me turn around again. "I just saw him leaving in his car." I pulled my phone out from my pocket and saw his text saying he has something urgent to take care of so he is leaving. That traitor left me alone with this jerk and now how we are supposed to go back!

"Looks like you have to go back with me only." He again said and I cursed myself under my breath. "I will call an uber so wait." He took out his phone and booked an uber. Soon our ride arrived and we settled in it.

The ride was silent, my plans failed and on top of that I even missed my lunch. My stomach grumbled at the thought of food and my head snapped toward him. God can this day be any more worse?

He told the driver to stop and got down. "Just wait here, I will be back in a minute." saying that he left. He came back after a few minutes with a subway paper bag in his hand. He handed it to me and said "Have it, you must be hungry after puncturing both the tires of my car." Great, he knows that too. Wait, does he have cameras all around or he can read minds.

"Sorry for the morning. I was just kidding, I won't do it if it upsets you." He suddenly said and I looked at him. This time his expressions were serious and eyes showed that he was genuinely saying that.

"I am also sorry for my silly antics but yea I will forgive you because you brought me my favorite subway wrap." I smiled. Okay I will just forget it he apologized and I did too.

"I hope you keep smiling like that, it's beautiful." He said, his eyes held something different but I can't figure out what. We both looked away from each other as no one was able to hold eye contact but Why?
