Chapter 326
The Darling of the Paranoid Tycoon
As Delbert openly slacked off during the meeting, Cory felt it was unfair.
âWhy did Mr. Delbert answer Ms. Harrietâs calls so quickly?â He thought.
In contrast, Delbert always ignored his subordinates.
What was more, Delbert halted the meeting to answer the call.
Being close enough to Delbert, Cory heard their conversation.
But the others in the conference room did not. They only thought that it was an important issue, and they patiently waited for Delbert to finish the call.
Facing Delbertâs cold attitude, Harriet didnât know what to say and remained silent.
âIf thereâs nothing else, I'll hang up. Iâm in a meeting,â Delbert finall said.
âOkay!â Harriet pursed her lips and hung up the phone.
Delbert heard the beeping sound from the phone, and his face turned gloomy. Everyone at the meeting held their breaths, wondering if Delbert was stumped by something major.
Cory curiously looked at Delbert. There were only two sources of Delbertâs displeasure. Either Harriet was in trouble or he hada fight. with her Given the situation, it should be the latter.
Cory thought that, after the incident, Delbert and Harriet would be lovey-dovey for a while. Unexpectedly, they fought.
Delbert muted his phone and said, âLetâs continue the meeting.â
No one dared to speculate any further. They quickly picked up the documents.
Because Delbert was always expressionless in the company, no one could tell that he was in a bad mood.
Cory had been with Delbert for a long time, and he sensitively noticed Delbertâs constant frown during the meeting. Delbert seemed to be troubled by something.
After the meeting, Cory walked to Delbertâs side and asked tentatively, âSir, did you fight with Ms. Harriet?â
Delbert paused and pretended to ask casually, âWhy do you think so?â
It was obvious. Delbert wasnât as happy as before when he answered Harrietâs phone call.
There should be a reason for it.
Instead of laying it bare, Cory cleared his throat and analyzed, âI can tell from your expression. During the meeting, you were distracted, and after you answered Ms. Harrietâs call, your mood became worse. So, | thought maybe it was because you had a fight with her.â
Furthermore, Delbert hadnât been home for three days. He couldn't deny it.
Delbert frowned at his words, and Cory quickly changed the subject.
âTo help you get through emotional crises and not be confused again, Iâve studied a lot about relationships. You can ask me anything,â he said.
Since the last quarrel between Delbert and Harriet, where they couldn't find a solution with him, Cory had been studying relationship issues. Now he could proudly say that he had made some progress.
Delbert looked reluctant, but when they arrived at the elevator, he said, âCome to my office.â
âYes, sir!â Cory immediately followed behind him.
In the office, Cory sat down and asked, âSir, what did you and Ms. Harriet argue about this time?â
In his chair, Delbert pressed his crossed fingers against his lips and furrowed his brow, seemingly contemplating how to describe the situation accurately.
