Chapter 28
The Darling of the Paranoid Tycoon
Chapter 28 Not Gentle Anymore In front of Harriet, Delbert just couldnât contain his emotion.
If she didnât leave soon, he was afraid that he would lose control.
Following his line of sight, Harriet realized the drenched state of her clothes. Knowing his good intentions gave her a sense of relief.
Delbert pulled on a bathrobe, emerged from the bathroom, and called over a maid. âEscort the lady downstairs to change her clothes.
With a heavy heart, Harriet followed the maid out of the room.
Once they learned the news, some servants went to report it to Colleen.
Colleen choked on her tea and sputtered in disbelief.
âWhat? That simpleton wasnât ejected by Mr. Delbert, but instead asked to dress appropriately and attend to him?â
She was incredulous. âHow could this be? Doesn't Mr. Delbert det uninvited female company during his bath?â
Her mind raced. âIf Mr. Delbert held Harriet in high regard, my positio in the villa would be in jeopardy.â
Colleen had served Delbert for years. Now that he had ascended to the presidency of the Carlson Group, she was determined to share in his success and luxury.
She would not hand over her rights to Harriet. Only she was qualified to manage this villa.
Acunning plan began to form in Colleenâs mind-a scheme to secure nei poantium unu provom une tramandi di pumui.
Since Delbertâs uncles had sent women to him, she could employ the same strategy.
Dismissing the servants, Colleen took out her phone and called her daughter.
âLula, when will you come visit me on the island?
âYou know what? Mr. Delbert has inherited the Carlson Group.â
After hanging up the phone, Colleen grinned triumphantly.
Her daughter, who had charmed Mr. Welch, would surely captivate Delbert.
After changing her clothes, Harriet returned to Delbertâs room under the maidâs guidance.
Delbert, now dressed in a slate pajama set, awaited her on the bed.
After the maid left, he gestured to the space beside him. âCome here.â
Harriet complied, taking a seat next to him.
But she maintained a respectful distance to avoid displeasing hin again.
Delbertâs eyes darkened. He patted the spot next to him, insisting, âSit here.â
Harriet silently pouted and moved closer.
Delbert found himself feeling like a peculiar fellow who had kidnapped a little girl.
âWhy arenât you talking? Are you upset?â
âDo you dislike me?â Harriet probed, puffing out her cheeks.
Despite having the answer in mind, she wanted to hear it from his mouth.
âYou are adorable. Who wouldn't like you?â
Delbert smiled, bearing down on the girl.
Harriet was disappointed by his indirect answer. âDoes he truly not have feelings for me?â
â| won't be gentle tonight.â
With that declaration, Delbert pressed his lips against hers, their breaths mingling in the moment.
However, he didnât push the boundaries any further but instead released his hold on her.
Harriet, with her eyes wide open, found herself captured in Delbertâs intense gaze.
âWhy is he looking at me like that?â
