Chapter 178
The Darling of the Paranoid Tycoon
Suddenly, Delbert opened his eyes and caught sight of Harriet trying to slip away. He reached out and pulled her back into his arms.
âSleep a little longer,â he murmured.
Harrietâs heart pounded, her cheeks burning.
âDelbert, | need to bathe and change clothes. | canât let others see me like this.â
Delbert looked down at her, a slight smile playing on his lips. âYou were so vocal last night. Werenât you afraid of being overheard? Why so shy now?â
His deep, seductive voice made Harrietâs face turn crimson. âItâs all your fault.â
Delbert buried his face in her neck and croaked, âYes, itâs my fault. | shouldnât have pushed you last night.â
Harriet grew even more bashful.
She, too, was to blame for agreeing to his request.
Stop making fun of me! Itâs annoying!â Harriet pouted.
Delbert couldnât bear to tease her any further and could only apologize.
He caressed her face, his voice soft. âAlright, itâs my fault. Donât be angry.â
âThatâs more like it,â Harriet said, acting coy. âThen | wonât be mad at you.â
No sooner had she finished speaking than Delbert suddenly flipped her over, pinning her beneath him. âSince you're not angry, can | do something with you?â
Harriet blushed again. âBut didnât we do it last night?â
âDoes he want to repeat last nightâs actions so early in the morning?â She thought.
As scenes from the previous night flashed through her mind, she felt her face heat up.
âJust one night is not enough. We should do it every day,â Delbert said with a light smile before leaning down to kiss her.
Harrietâs heart raced as an intoxicating scent of sandalwood filled her senses.
His kiss left her mind blank.
Just as Delbert was about to proceed further, there was a knock on the bedroom door, followed by a voice. âSir and Madam, Mr.
Carlson Sr. wants you guys to join him for breakfast.â
Harriet snapped back to reality and pushed Delbert off her.
Delbert raised his eyes pitifully and called out to her.
âarriet couldnât stand the puppy dogâs eyes given to her.
Get up! Milton is calling us downstairs for breakfast,â she said.
â| don't care!â Delbert snorted.
Harriet was speechless.
After half an hour, Harriet and Delbert finally went downstairs together.
At the dining table, Milton wasnât as happy as he was at yesterdayâs birthday party.
He looked at Delbert and then at Harriet, whose cheeks were rosy. He sighed silently in his heart. But in the end, he didnât say anything. Hel just asked them to go and sit.
Breakfast ended in an awkward atmosphere.
Milton called Delbert to the study for a talk, while Harriet went back to her room alone to rest.
As soon as she closed the door, her phone started ringing.
Seeing the caller ID displaying âJoe Cohenâ, she narrowed her eyes and then pressed the Answer button.
Since Harriet regained her intelligence and inherited her motherâs medical skills, she secretly established a pharmaceutical organization in Meawood City. They specialized in developing potions that could regenerate cells and sold them to influential people, profiting from them.
