FORTY

YOONGI HASN'T BEEN here for a while. The last time was when he first noticed that one certain Officer is taking too much space in his mind.

That's when he went to visit her.

„Hello my dear." He says with a soft maybe even sad smile as he places flowers on her grave. He grabs the old ones that he placed last time he went.

„It's me again." He mumbles, sitting down next to her grave stone. The sun has already set and the sky is getting darker. Soon it will be fall, the summer is already over and the days are already getting shorter. Yoongi likes it like that.

„I always come here when I need someone to talk to, you know." Yoongi says, „After all you're my best friend, Soojin."

He draws his legs closer to his body to hug his knees. Placing his head on his arms, a sigh leaves his lips.

„I told you about that guy last time right? He is my partner now, a while already." Yoongi continues even though he feels strange talking to himself. But maybe she hears him.

„Jimin- my partner- he's amazing, Soojin. Ever since you left and took a part of me with you, I felt empty and lonely. But he- Jimin came into my life and somehow he- he lights up my heart and gave me back the happiness that left me 2 years ago when you left." A chuckle leaves his lips while he burries his face in his arms, „It's stupid. But I feel good around him. And it's scaring me. This feeling."

Stupid tears start forming in his eyes, „I shouldn't be in love with him. But how can I stop it, Soojin? How can I stop falling deeper in love?"

The sun was already down when Jimin and his younger friends came back home. The black haired male had a lot of fun but thought it was strange that Yoongi left without saying something to Jimin.

Even though they had fun together Jimin thinks that Yoongi acted somehow odd the whole time.

That's why he decided to check on the elder but when he went to the balcony he noticed that Yoongi's lights were off. He wasn't at home.

Since then a few hours has passed and still the elder didn't get home. At some point Jimin started to worry and even texted his partner. But he didn't get a response.

But then again it wouldn't be the first time, Yoongi often comes back home late, he likes being out and by himself. Recently Jimin would join him, they would look at the skyline together or play basketball.

Today however Yoongi didn't take Jimin with him.

Jimin is curious, if not even slightly worried.

He couldn't sleep, the others were already in their rooms.

Around midnight he decided to grab something to drink in the kitchen and stay there to wait for the elder.

Sitting down on the counter of the kitchen like usually, he opens his can of soda and takes a sip.

It's really quiet, the moon is shining through the big windows into the house. Jimin wanted it to be dark, his eyes are tired even though he can't sleep, and any light is burning in his eyes.

While drinking his coke and waiting for Yoongi, he suddenly hears steps coming from the stairs. It caught his attention and made him look to the direction the sound is coming from.

It's dark but Jimin recognizes the man immediately, the tattoos on his arm and the piercings on his face are very recognizable.

The younger has a smirk on his lips as he approaches the sleepless male who is still sitting on the counter.

„No sleep for you, super boy?" Jungkook asks as he takes a halt in front of Jimin.

The elder snorts at the nickname he got a long time ago, „Sadly no. How about you?"

„Same. It's a full moon after all." Jungkook responds and Jimin raises his brows, he hasn't noticed.

„You want some?" Jimin asks while holding his can in front of the younger. Jungkook nods before grabbing it and taking a sip, his eyes not leaving Jimin.

The moon is shining on both males, as they chat a little bit, quiet laughs leaving their lips as they share funny thoughts and stupid stories.

They get along pretty well ever since Jungkook truly accepted him. The younger has always been a skeptical person, he doesn't trust everyone and is hard to impress. Jungkook was fooled and used for his kindness in the past, Jimin found out later on. That's why he's not mad at him. Everyone makes mistakes.

But now they are good friends, they're training a lot together and spend time together every now and then.

„Maybe you should go to sleep now." Jimin says after a short moment of silence.

Jungkook has his eyes resting on Jimin and the elder somehow can't look away either.

The moonshine is showing Jungkook's handsome facial features, revealing the beauty Jimin never truly appreciated. Jungkook is a fine man, he's indeed good looking and if you get to know him better, he's a kind and funny person with a soft heart.

Jimin has to admit that Jungkook's gaze is quite intense, if not even seductive.

„You should go too." Jungkook says while taking a step closer, now standing between Jimin's legs that are hanging off the counter, „Or maybe-"

Jungkook cuts himself off mid sentence as he leans slightly forward while placing his hand on Jimin's cheek. Before the elder could react, he feels a pair of soft lips on his own.

Jimin hesitates but responds to the kiss by moving his lips against Jungkook's. The younger has one hand on Jimin's cheek while the other finds its way on Jimin's hip. He squeezed it slightly as they deepen the kiss.

Jimin doesn't know why he's doing that, why he's kissing Jungkook and it definitely feels wrong. That's not how it's supposed to be, not the person who it's supposed to be.

They pull away, both of them with the same realization.

They look down, not saying a thing, while Jimin's hands slowly move down to Jungkook's strong chest after they rested around his neck. The younger removes his hand from Jimin's cheek, wiping the wetness off his lower lip with his thumb before finally looking at Jimin.

„That was-" Jungkook started and chuckled, before Jimin finished his sentence, „-wrong."

„Definitely wrong." The younger adds while rubbing the back of his neck.

„You're not him after all.." Jungkook mumbles making Jimin raise a brow before nodding in response.

„And you're not him." Jimin responds, a chuckle leaving his lips.

„Yoongi?" Jungkook asks, earning a nod from the elder.

„Taehyung, right?" Jimin asks as well, causing Jungkook to look up into his eyes. His expression turns dark, maybe even sad, but he nods.

„How did you know?" Jungkook says before sitting down on the counter next to Jimin.

„The way you look at him. It says more than you think." Jimin responds.

„Fuck. Am I so obvious?" Jungkook asks rhetorically, a soft chuckle leaving his lips. The mood isn't as tense as it was a few seconds ago, both of them are even smiling.

„How did you know?" Jimin now asks the same question.

„Hm- well the way you look at him." Jungkook responds causing Jimin to roll his eyes before softly bumping their shoulders.

„Why don't you tell Taehyung?" Jimin then asks, „I think he likes you as well."

„We've been best friends since high school. I can't ruin our friendship." The younger answers, „And more over he has Hoseok now."

Jimin bites his lower lip, it's true, Taehyung and Hoseok are pretty close. But so are Jungkook and Taehyung.

„But maybe he feels the same towards you." Jimin says but Jungkook just shakes his head with a smile.

„It's okay, I'm okay with it now." The younger says, looking at his friend.

Jimin presses his lips together but also looks to his left right into two dark eyes.

„You're a good guy, Jungkook." Jimin says with a smile, making the black haired male next to him smile as well, „You'll find the love you deserve."

Jungkook then leans his head on Jimin's shoulder before rubbing his dark locks against Jimin's neck, „Thank you, Hyung. I really needed to talk about it."

Jimin chuckles before ruffling Jungkook's hair with his other hand, „Anytime, Jungkookie."

Jimin didn't get to see Yoongi when he came back home that night. It was the next morning when suddenly Jimin met the elder in the kitchen, making himself a coffee.

Maybe he's just overreacting but Jimin has the feeling that Yoongi is ignoring him or at least trying to avoid him.

But that's hard considering them being partners. Even at work Yoongi barely talked to him and only stayed at his office to do some paperwork while Jimin worked out. He has been acting strange the whole day.

Now, after kissing Jungkook yesterday, Jimin realized something really important. He realized what he actually feels. Indeed he knew it way longer already, it was when they first started getting physical. But he never tried to really figure out his feelings for Yoongi, he didn't label them. But it's clear, he's madly in love.

And now that he knows what his heart feels towards Yoongi, the elder is suddenly acting strange.

The younger couldn't endure it, after his training he went to the office where Yoongi spent the whole shift. It's an office shared with others Sergeants.

„I'm done with my training, Sergeant." Jimin says as he walked into the office.

„Good." The elder bluntly responds not looking up from his papers.

„Have I done anything wrong?" Jimin asks, taking a step closer, „Have I done anything to upset you?"

Finally the elder looked up, their eyes met, but he broke the eye contact immediately.

„No."

„That's not true- why are you acting like that?" Jimin says raising his voice slightly, causing a few Officers to look at them.

„It's nothing, I'm just busy so please excuse me-" Yoongi responds without looking at Jimin.

The younger took another step closer to his desk, „Tell me. I'm your partner, no secrets, remember?"

Yoongi frowns and looks at Jimin again. It's so hard - looking at the younger male's face. Seeing the expression on it - disappointing him.

„I'm busy. I have no time for that, Officer Park." Yoongi responds coldly. Shut it down, Min Yoongi.

„Fine." Jimin answers clenching his jaw before turning around to leave.

This is not over, Jimin isn't giving up so easily. He will definitely talk to Yoongi at home.

And he did.

He decided to just knock at his balcony door that night and hope that the elder would let him in.

„What is it?" Yoongi asks simply, his tone cold and distant, nothing like usually.

„We need to talk." Jimin responds trying to get into Yoongi's room but the elder didn't let him. Instead he stepped out so that they're both on the balcony now.

The elder crosses his arms in front of his chest, „Talk."

Jimin frowns, not believing that this is the same Yoongi he got fond of. That he likes.

„What's wrong with you?" Jimin says, taking a step closer to the male in front of him. He wants to feel Yoongi's closeness again, it's been only a day but he already misses it. Now that the elder is acting so strange makes it even harder.

„Nothing." The Sergeant responds bluntly.

„That's not true. I know something is wrong." Jimin says, „Tell me, please. Did I upset you?"

Yoongi sighs while looking away. This is so hard, it hurts.

The elder doesn't know what to respond, that's why Jimin took another step closer, now standing so close that their bodies are touching. Yoongi's biggest weakness.

Jimin leans in, making their foreheads touch and with that taking Yoongi's breath away. Too close. He's too close.

„Stop it." Yoongi breaths against Jimin's lips, making the younger avert his gaze from Yoongi's lips to his dark eyes.

Yoongi is so close to lose it. To lose his own fight.

„Why?"

„It's too dangerous." Yoongi whispers against Jimin's lips and just when the younger is about to close the small gap between them, Yoongi softly pushes him away.

He turns around, hoping to escape this dangerous situation but Jimin stops him.

„I- Jungkook and I kissed." Jimin bluntly says causing Yoongi to stop in his movement. Suddenly his heart starts beating fast in his chest, Jimin's word took him by surprise. He clenches his jaw but tries to play it off.

„Why are you telling me this?" He says in a low tone, still not turning around.

„Because I want you to know." Jimin responds approaching the elder, „I want you to know, that even in that moment when he kissed me and I kissed him back, I imagined it would be your lips."

Yoongi frowns, biting his lower lips while waiting for Jimin to continue. The black haired male takes another step closer, placing his arms around Yoongi's waist while resting his forehead against the older male's back.

„I like you- a lot. And even if we're not- nothing- it felt wrong kissing him. Because you're the only person I want to be kissing." Jimin explains, „I only want to be with you, Min Yoongi."

A/N: hello!! I'm back wuhu well at least I'm trying to! It's been a few really hard weeks for me but now I'm handing in my Bachelor thesis and it's a really relieving feeling!

I will need a few days for me bc I had no life for the past few weeks.. but then I will be active again!!

About the chapter: what the flying fuck happened?? So much happened! Jikook kissed?? Don't ask me why I did that but I don't regret it! It's no big deal guys so pls don't freak out lmao :') how did you like the Jikook scene (besides the kiss)?

So much drama is about to happen soon.. just telling you in advance :')

Yoongi is so scared and afraid to let Jimin in his heart.. even though it's already too late- do you get him? Or is he overreacting?
