THIRTY-SIX

JIMIN WOKE UP really early for next day's mission.

They have to arrive at 8am but also have a ride of more than an hour to the place where they have to guard the politician. Sometimes the SWAT officers get tasks like these, especially Units like Bulletproof or the Strayers.

The younger hates waking up early, but at least he could watch the sunrise from his window, as he gets ready for the task. It's his first real mission with Yoongi.

Them being an official Duo. After all these months of trying to persuade Yoongi, Jimin finally became his partner. It took too long, but the younger couldn't be any happier. He knew from the very beginning, they were meant to be a Duo.

Now they have to proof that they are one of the best.

Preparing for the task, Jimin first washed his face and brushed his teeth before taking care of his black hair. Looking in the mirror, he somehow notices that his face looks more mature now. He did change a lot since joining the SWAT. There's a lot he has learned during that time, it somehow makes him look older and more mature.

Sadly what he didn't learn was how to tie a tie. He has never worn one in the first place.

After many failed attempts he already wanted to give up before getting the idea of asking his partner for help.

Jimin decides to ask him through their shared balcony, hoping that it won't bother Yoongi too much. After all the elder just went to Jimin's room the night before without even asking.

Approaching the door slowly, Jimin notices that Yoongi is packing some stuff into a bag, already completely dressed.

Jimin knocks at the door, since Yoongi didn't notice him at first.

„Can you help me?" Jimin asks while holding up his untied tie.

Yoongi opens the door, letting Jimin inside, „Never tied one before?"

The younger nods as he walks into the room, taking a halt right in front of Yoongi.

„Is there anything you can do?" The elder jokes,

earning a punch on his chest from his partner.

With a soft chuckle, Yoongi starts putting the tie around Jimin's collar before doing what Jimin didn't manage to do by himself.

The younger was looking at him the whole time, his eyes never leaving Yoongi's dark eyes. They didn't talk while Yoongi tied his tie but Jimin enjoyed the silence. With Yoongi it's peaceful and calm.

The younger notices that Yoongi's hair also got longer, he wears it in a bun, making him look extremely handsome. His pale skin looks like porcelain and Jimin already knows how soft his skin actually is.

„Done." The elder says, putting down the edges of his collar before letting his hands rest on Jimin's chest. The black haired Officer didn't move for a while, just looking into the dark eyes of the elder without even saying anything.

Yoongi himself got lost in Jimin's silver colored eyes, like he always does, and without even noticing his hand slowly moves closer to Jimin's neck as if he's about to grab his face.

The younger almost melted into the touch but soon it ended by Yoongi taking a step back.

„You're done." He repeats softly before turning away to finish what he was doing before Jimin came.

„Thank you." Jimin mumbles, finally coming back to reality.

„When are we leaving?" He then adds to end the strange tension.

„In a few minutes." Yoongi responds while Jimin takes a look around himself, after his attention got caught by the pictures on the wall and on a shelf.

He has been to Yoongi's room a few times already but he never really noticed the many pictures and the personal stuff on the shelves. His room looked really personal and comfortable, Jimin wished his own would look like that too.

The younger approaches the shelf that has many framed pictures on it. There are pictures of the members, of what seemed Yoongi's parents and family, him receiving his certificate for becoming an Officer, even a photo of him and Jack and many other personal pictures.

Jimin took the one where Yoongi is proudly holding his certificate with a big smile on his face, one that shows his gums and makes him look extremely adorable.

Jimin chuckled while touching the glass of the picture with his thumb.

Yoongi turned around shortly to see why Jimin was chuckling before continuing what he's doing.

Jimin smile faded slightly when he noticed some certain pictures that gained his attention.

It's the pictures from Yoongi's girlfriend, well ex girlfriend, that made him bite his lower lip while grabbing one of it.

Jimin's face turned serious, as he looks at the photo of a rather happy looking woman. She's beautiful, Jimin could understand why Yoongi loved her. The girl looks kind and lovely, like someone full of life and joy. Jimin can't judge depending on one picture.

After all her life ended sadly.

„What was her name?" Jimin asks, his voice almost sounding like a whisper, but Yoongi heard him.

The elder approaches him from behind, now standing close behind Jimin so that he could look at the picture in his hand.

„Soojin." Yoongi answers, making Jimin turn his head slightly to the side, „Her name was Soojin."

The younger nods in response, placing the picture back on the shelf before turning around to face Yoongi better. Looking into his eyes, Jimin can see the hurt and pain in them, even though a few years has passed it still affects Yoongi.

They just look into each other eyes, standing so close that Jimin could feel the warmth coming from Yoongi's body. The expression on Jimin's face is pitiful and kind of sad, causing Yoongi to frown.

„It must have been painful." Jimin says, placing his hand on Yoongi's cheek almost automatically.

„You've lost someone too." The elder responds putting his hand on top of Jimin's before squeezing it slightly, „You must've felt the same pain."

Jimin bites his lower lip while nodding slowly. His heart hurts seeing the pain in Yoongi's eyes, all Jimin wanted to do was to take Yoongi in his arms, to comfort him and be there for him. He wants to take away his worries and his pain.

Maybe someday he will be able to do it.

"Hello Sergeant Min, it's been a while." A tall man in a black tuxedo greets the Duo after they arrived at the destination of their task. The ride was okay, rather quiet and peaceful, Yoongi and Jimin enjoyed the silence but also talked a few times shortly.

"Hello, Mr. Han." Yoongi greets the male with a handshake, before his gaze averts from the Sergeant to Jimin.

"You must be.."

"Officer Park." Jimin introduces himself, shaking the other male's hand as well.

"He's my partner." Yoongi explains and Mr. Han nods, flashing a short smile at the young Officer. After a quick small talk, Mr. Han introduces them to the other bodyguards that are working for Go Hyungdo.

After that the whole plan of today's task is being explained to them, before they got equipped with a headset and microphone. They already wear a bullet proof vest under they shirts and they brought their own guns.

Jimin is excited, even if it's not his first mission, it's his first with Yoongi. His partner. How it's supposed to be from the very beginning. It's been a long and hard way but in the end they made it as a team, they are finally a Duo and Jimin knows they will be the best someday.

It's just the way they fit, like a puzzle, as if they're meant to be a team, a duo. It's the way they work, how they complete each other. And so much more.

Now, after the plan was explained to them, they waited till Mr. Go arrived, so that they can escort him to his suit where he will be staying till the event starts.

„Are you ready?" Yoongi asks his partner who then answers with a big grin.

„I'm always ready."

With that the mission started, they escorted Mr.Go to his suit before waiting for the event to starts.

It's 10 am when Jimin finds himself in a big hallway, next to him bodyguards and officers, right across from him his partner, looking fine as hell.

Jimin is fully awake and focused but every now and then he finds his thoughts drifting off shortly, his gaze traveling to one certain good looking Sergeant.

Yoongi has his hands behind his back just like anyone else, his suit hugs his slim but muscular body perfectly while his hair, still tied in a bun, allows him a better look at Yoongi's face.

Jimin can't help but think about him, about their night together, about their moments and kisses and it's not the right time to think about it at all but standing across from his partner, makes it hard for him not to think about it. Jesus, get your shit together.

Jimin's eyes scan him once again, before they land on his face again, noticing the frown on Yoongi's face. The elder raises a brow and changes his expression, signaling Jimin to focus on the task and stop staring at him.

The younger has to suppress his smile because Yoongi's whole stern and serious appearance was shredded by him trying to tell Jimin to focus. With that Jimin wanted to annoy him a little bit more.

„Your butt looks really cute in those pants, Viper." Jimin whispers into the microphone of his headset.

There was a short pause, but it felt like a really long moment of pure silence.

„Thank you for this really important information." Yoongi responds sarcastically, „I'm sure the others wanted to hear that as well."

Jimin frowns before noticing that the other officers and bodyguards were trying to suppress their laughter. Shit, he thought only his partner could hear him, how stupid.

„Sorry." Jimin says into his mic with a soft bow, now knowing that everyone can hear him.

Gladly most of them took it with humor and not long after the time has come for them to escort the politician to the event hall.

There were a lot of people already, many politicians and a few reporters, it's a huge event that's really important. Jimin has no clue what it's about but it doesn't matter he only has to focus on protecting Mr.Go and prevent any kind of danger that could harm him.

On their way to the hall nothing happened everything went well and no suspicious persons were sighted.

There were a few breaks in between, other politicians and important people held a speech as well, talking about different kind of plans and tasks.

Now with Mr.Go's turn to hold his speech, Jimin and Yoongi have to focus even more. He's a target of a lot of hate, many people despise him. That's why he needs high protection.

„Stay focused." Yoongi whispers to Jimin who's standing right next to him. The younger nods without taking his eyes off the crowd in front of them. They are gathered behind Mr.Go who's talking in the center of the stage.

His speech is long, a lot of other people were asking questions and in the first half it's quite peaceful and nothing unusual happened.

It was only when Jimin noticed a waiter in the back area where the other politicians are sitting and listening to the speech, started to walk around suspiciously.

„Suspicious person sighted. The waiter in the back area." Jimin says into the microphone causing the bodyguards to take a step closer to Mr.Go.

Suddenly, the waiter approached the stage with fast steps, throwing what seems a paper on the stage making it land right in front of Mr.Go.

The crowd starts talking louder, everyone seemed to panic slightly while the bodyguards surrounded the politician who picks up the paper from the ground.

„sooner or later we all die - only that your death is very close"

Mr. Go read the words out loud, making his bodyguards protect him even more. For a second everyone forgot about the male who threw the paper, but both Jimin and Yoongi noticed him trying to run away.

Without hesitating the two Swat officers leave the stage to follow the suspect.

He's passing many people and running out of the hall, throwing things on the ground to make it harder for Yoongi and Jimin to catch him.

Running as fast as he can, Jimin notices that Yoongi is behind him and can't keep up with Jimin's supernatural speed.

Yoongi notices his look, as if Jimin's about to hesitate and not fulfill his duty just because his partner is not keeping up with him. But he can't quit now - he has to run faster.

„Run, Argent!"
