THIRTY-THREE

TO SAY THAT Jimin is surprised and confused would be an underestimation. He's literally shocked.

"You have what?" Jimin mumbles, his heart beat suddenly increasing in speed. Never has he met someone like himself before. Never has he talked to anyone who has shared the same sorrow like him, the judgement, the exclusion, the bullying. Not being "normal", like others. He has never met someone who shared the same pain.

"I have superpowers, like you Jimin-ssi." The younger responds relaxed, but raises his index finger to his lips, "But you can't tell anyone."

"N-no one knows?" Jimin asks confused, earning a nod from the younger male.

"Why?" He then adds, not sure if he really means no one, not even Bang Chan? Why wouldn't he tell anyone? Does really no one know about it? And why the fuck would he tell Jimin?

"Because I don't want to be treated differently just because of my superpowers." Jeongin responds with a more serious tone in his voice than before, "I don't want to be judged by it. Rather I want to be treated normal."

Jimin is still overwhelmed by this information and he has so many question in his head, he just doesn't know what to ask first.

"I know, you have many question." Jeongin suddenly says, making Jimin look at him, "No, you are really the only one I told, not even Bang Chan knows. And I told you because you are just like me, and I think, I can trust you."

It made click in Jimin's head, the things he said and his strange behavior, Jimin now gets it.

"Your superpower.. it's mind reading right?" He asks hesitatingly, earning a soft chuckle from his new partner.

"You're smart, Park Jimin." He responds, "Yes I can read other people minds. And I can see old and past visions of the people I once touched."

Jimin just nods, not knowing what to exactly respond, but Jeongin probably just reads his mind and knows what he's thinking.

"Don't worry I only read other people minds when I want to. I learned how to control it." The younger says after reading Jimin's thoughts.

"Why did you tell me something like that? How do you know I won't tell the others?" Jimin asks after a short moment of silence. The younger shrugs in response, "I don't know. I just trust you with that. And even if you would tell them, you have no proofs."

"Well that's a point." Jimin says more to himself than to the male next to him. It's still so unreal to Jimin, to really meet someone with superpowers, and this person even happening to be his partner. It's a lot to process and it will take some time but it's not impossible. Now that he knows that Jeongin has powers too will make it easier to work with him. At least that's what Jimin thinks.

"I know what you must've been thinking-"

"Yeah literally." Jimin interrupts, slightly rolling his eyes.

"-But I hope you won't treat me differently. We still don't know each other that good, but I hope we will be a good team." Jeongin says after Jimin's short interruption, while looking deeply into his eyes. It's hard to not threat him differently when you know that he's probably reading your mind in this right moment.

"I will try my best." Jimin says and earns another nod. That's okay for now. He will try to get along, the younger does seem to be okay. Jimin will try to befriend him so that they can be a good Duo.

It's quiet for a short moment, the silence giving Jimin the time and space he needs to process the new information but it's getting interrupted once again by the male next to him.

"So tell me more about you and Min Yoongi."

A few days days has passed since Jimin had gotten his new partner and even befriended him. They didn't have high risk cases in that time, rather small tasks to help the police but nothing too serious. It was good to get to know each other. They trained a lot in the time when they were waiting at the department to get called for missions and with that got even closer.

Jimin learnt a lot about Jeongin's power, how he managed to control it and how he's using it. It's a very useful and strong power, but also brings a lot of pain to the ones using it. Till he learned how to control it, he had to suffer a lot, not being able to blend out the thoughts of the people around him. It was hard but it also made him stronger. He's still quite young and only his family and closest friends know about it.

However for the work at the Swat it's a really useful skill, even though he still hides it.

Now, as another normal work day is about to start, Jimin gets once again called to Commander Kim's office.

„You wanted to see me, Commander Kim?" Jimin says, his hands are behind his back, as he has holds an upright posture. He has learned a lot in the last few months and with that also how to behave, at least at work.

„Yes Officer Park, but we are still waiting for someone." Kim responds, placing his elbows on the table as he leans forward.

Jimin frowns, „Whom?"

Before the Commander could answer, a knock on the door interrupts them before a specific black haired Sergeant enters the room.

He bows at the Commander, „Commander Kim." His eyes travel to Jimin, causing his heart to skip a beat, before the elder bows slightly to him as well, „Officer Park."

After greeting the two males, Sergeant Min takes a halt next to Jimin, his hands also on his back while his eyes are focused on Namjoon.

„So now that the two of you are here, we can discuss what has to be discussed." Namjoon started, causing a deep frown on Jimin who isn't quite sure what's going on.

„Sergeant Min you handed in a request. Will you please tell your request again?"

The Sergeant nods, still looking at Namjoon, „I requested, Park Jimin to be my partner."

The younger snaps his head to the side, looking at the elder next to him with wide eyes. What the fuck is going on?

„You know, that Park Jimin has already a new partner and new team." Commander Kim responds.

„Yes I'm aware of that." Yoongi says with a short nod. Jimin is confused and more over shocked, what the fuck is going on?

„But the Strayers have enough members, while I do not have a partner at the moment. That's why I handed in the request." Sergeant Min explains, causing a soft smirk to appear on Namjoon's lips.

The Commander leans back on his chair, as if he has to think about it and to make up his mind, even though he already knows what he will answer.

„So you will be our new Duo?" Kim asks, trying to hide the smirk but failing to do so.

„Yes, if you accept my request." Yoongi responds.

Jimin just watches the conversation, his mind trying to process what's happening.

„Wait- why the sudden change of mind?" Jimin asks, leaving his stiff position, as emotions suddenly take over his body. It makes no sense to him, but at the same time, a small spark of hope spreads through his mind. Is this true? Is this really happening?

Namjoon makes a gesture with his hand, signaling Yoongi to answer Jimin's question.

The elder finally turned his head to look at Jimin, his dark eyes now resting on Jimin's silver ones, „I realized that Officer Park is a worthy, talented and trustful partner. We are the perfect Duo."

With these words leaving Yoongi's lips, Jimin can feels his whole body getting weak, as if he lost the ground under his feet. His heart is beating fast as he shares a deep and intense eye contact with the elder, one that he hasn't shared for a long time now. One that he has indeed missed.

It made him realized, that he actually missed Yoongi. He missed being around him, looking into his eyes, talking to him or even laughing and joking around with him. Just being with the elder.

Jimin missed him, he missed him so much, that it made him realize, how important Yoongi is for him.

„Well then Sergeant Min, your request will be accepted for sure. I will talk to the deputy chief and the leader of the Strayers." With that the conversation came to an end after Namjoon dismissed both males.

When Jimin wanted to talk to Yoongi about it, the elder was suddenly gone already. It made Jimin frown, he didn't hear him leave, but he shrugged it off and headed to his actual partner to tell him what happened.

His partner wasn't so happy about Jimin most likely leaving him but it wasn't so bad either. He was understanding and from reading Jimin's mind and what he had told him, he knew that Jimin really loves the team, and wished to work with Yoongi. Actually that he even was in real pain after his departure of the Bulletproof.

After their rather peaceful day, filled with some training and workouts, Jimin went to the locker rooms first, wanting to change his clothes before going home with Jeongin.

Entering the room, he spots no other than the one Sergeant that he can't get out of his head. It's funny, out of all people he had to meet Yoongi.

But instead of laughing Jimin indeed felt a sudden nervousness.

Mostly because Yoongi isn't wearing a shirt.

Jimin clears his throat, signaling his presence to Yoongi, who looks to his right where Jimin is standing.

The elder eyes him from head to toe before grabbing a shirt out of his locker but instead of putting it on he just holds it in his hands.

Jimin approaches his own locker, opening it slowly but still keeping an eye on Yoongi.

The elder notices his secret stares, causing him to turn to the side to look at Jimin while leaning against a closed locker.

„What is it?" The black haired Sergeant asks, while crossing his arms in front of his chest.

Jimin bites his lower lip before turning to the side to look at the other male as well. His eyes immediately fall on the well trained chest and muscular arms, but also on a thick scar over his right side of his chest. He hasn't really noticed that one before.

Catching himself staring, Jimin averts his gaze to Yoongi's face.

„Were you serious about- wanting me as your partner?" Jimin asks after hesitating shortly.

Yoongi just looks into his eyes, so intensely and deeply that it made Jimin's heart beat faster. Especially when he approached Jimin, so close, that he's being pressed against some other lockers without even having to be touched by the elder.

The younger gulps, trying to make the gap between them bigger, because the heat inside of him is about to kill him. Yoongi is standing so close, Jimin can feel the warmth of his body on his own.

Moving his hand closer to Jimin's face, Yoongi removes a few strands of his black hairs out of his face, before looking deeply into Jimin's eyes.

„Do I look like I'm joking?" He asks with his raspy voice, making Jimin's legs go weak.

But he has to show his strong side, instead of giving him the permission to have control over his body and mind.

„So you really want to be my partner?" Jimin asks once again, not wanting his hopes to get raised for nothing.

„Yes, I want to be your partner, Officer Park." Yoongi responds with a low growl in his voice, making the younger male's mind go crazy. Oh what a control he has over Jimin's body.

His silver eyes travel from Yoongi's dark ones to his lips, lips he's eager to kiss.

Looking back to his eyes Jimin responds, „Good. It took you long time to realize that I'm a good partner."

As Jimin is about to move away, Yoongi places both of his arms next to Jimin's head, stopping him from doing so.

„I knew it from the moment we started training together." Yoongi responds serious, his voice low and raspy, „I knew- we could be a Duo, everyone would envy. One that everyone would look up to."

Jimin frowns but continues listening.

„You're like a fire Park Jimin, amazing to look at, but scary to approach. Getting closer to you, would burn me. Touching you, would kill me." Yoongi adds, his face moving closer with every word, so close that Jimin feels his breath against his own lips.

„Being around you, made it hard for me to breathe. Getting involved with you- it was a risk, one that I wasn't willing to take." The elder continues, his lips almost touching Jimin's, both of them now having their eyes closed, „But I'm willing to risk it all now."

Jimin takes in a sharp breath, his heart almost exploding in his chest, „Then kiss me."
