one that Irvin mentioned? The one who has been with her, supporting her, and protecting her for the

past seven years.

“If such a person truly exists, could it be that Alice has gone to look for him now?” Irvin had decided to

speak his mind today, even if it meant he would risk getting severely injured by Ethan.

Ethan’s eyes flickered faintly. Then, he whisked out his phone and started calling Alice. In truth, he did

call Alice when he saw no sign of her after he came out of Charles’ lounge. Unfortunately, Alice’s line

was busy at that time.

Now that he called her again, Alice’s line remained busy. Still, Ethan refused to give up and

continuously made several calls but received the same prompt.

“Judging from how Alice is on the phone for so long, there is a chance she’s talking to that person.”

Irvin constantly probed Ethan’s reaction at the cost of his safety today.

In reality, Alice was currently on the phone with the head nurse of the nursing home. She desperately

needed to obtain Charles’ blood sample, and at the same time, she also needed to find out Charles’

condition over the years. She would only be able to carry out her plan after having the full picture of the

situation.

The nursing home was originally under the Glenn Group.

for.

After she hung up the phone, she realized that her phone died immediately after. That’s strange. I

recalled that I had charged my phone last night. Was my phone not charging?

For that reason, the prompt finally changed from ‘the number you have dialed is currently busy’ to ‘the

number you have dialed is out of service’ when Ethan called Alice again.

“No way. Is Alice turning off her phone because she doesn’t want to answer your call?” Irvin didn’t say

these words for the sake of provoking Ethan. Rather, it was an instinctive blurt. Hence, Irvin wanted to

give himself several slaps so badly as soon as those words escaped his lips. I am trying to trigger

Ethan, but that doesn’t mean I want to give him an earth-shattering blow. Now that I’ve said those

words to him, will he actually beat the hell out of me?

When Irvin thought of that, he cautiously looked at Ethan and discovered that Ethan had decided to

ignore him. Even so, the look on Ethan’s face still spooked him.

Ethan was currently making a call. However, it shouldn’t be calling Alice as it instantly went through.

“Find out where Alice has gone to.” Ethan’s facial expression was indeed glacial that it could make

one’s blood run cold. However, it wasn’t because he believed the nonsense Irvin blurted. Instead, he

was worried that something happened to Alice. Could it be that she was actually pretending to be

strong? Or could it be that she actually still cared about the things the Woland Family did to her? Will

she truly drown in sorrow because of this? According to Irvin, all women are actually vulnerable, even if

they don’t show it. In that case, will she be hiding away and crying secretly?

At this moment, Alice, whom Ethan thought might be hiding away and crying secretly, was taking the

blood sample to Howell Corp.

“Are you going to do another DNA test? Whose DNA test is it this time?” Lydia took the blood sample

that Alice handed over and asked thoughtlessly.

“Old Mr. Woland and mine,” Alice replied casually without any emotion.

Lydia’s movements stiffened a little. She swiftly looked at Alice, and a rare tint of seriousness painted

on her face as she inquired, “What’s going on? What happened?”

As Alice’s friend, Lydia surely knew everything about her. Therefore, she knew Alice would never take

Charles’ blood sample for a DNA test if something hadn’t happened.

“Perhaps because they think that I have no worth for them. That’s why they want to send me to prison

and kill me,” Alice was calm and collected, and her tone was flat when she talked about that particular

matter. It was as though she was talking about someone else’s affair instead of her own. After a brief

pause, she added, “This time, it’s Old Mr. Woland who was the mastermind.”

“F*ck! What a monster! No, he is simply worse than a monster,” Lydia cursed after failing to suppress

her anger. “The members of the Woland Family are all a piece of sh*t!

“Darling, I don’t find the necessity for you to do this DNA test. Those pieces of sh*t worse than a

monster are absolutely not related to you. They are definitely not your kin.”

Regardless, Alice still needed the result from this DNA test if she wanted to carry out her next plan.

Therefore, she said, “I still have to make one last confirmation.” Actually, Alice already knew the answer

through Charles’ reaction earlier in the banquet. But since she had always been meticulous in handling

her affairs, she figured there was no harm in carrying out this final verification step.

“All right. I will have someone run the test and ensure the result is out as soon as possible.” After a

moment of reconsideration, Lydia also concluded that Alice should indeed carry out the final step of

verification because only after the result was confirmed that Alice could do whatever she needed to do

without any worries.

Lydia handed over the blood sample to her assistant and even specifically gave a few instructions.

“Darling, let’s ask Cecilia out and have a drink.” Lydia immediately took Alice’s arm after she finished

arranging the matter.

“What’s the matter? You think I will drown myself in sorrow?” Alice smiled in amusement. “Do you

honestly think those pieces of sh*t are worth my tears?”

Truthfully, when Alice found out that Lucas might not be Charles’ biological son and that she might not

be related to the Woland Family, she bore no other emotions except for feeling unfairness and sadness

on Lucas’ behalf.

“Of course, I know they are not worth your tears. I just feel that we haven’t gotten together in a long

while. Since I happen to be free today, let’s get a drink and have some fun.” Lydia was relieved as she

could tell that Alice really didn’t take this matter to heart.

Then, Lydia called Cecilia, asking her to meet them at Royale.

By the time Caleb retrieved information about Alice, she was already at Royale with Lydia and Cecilia.

“Mr. Knight, Young Madam Knight had first taken Old Mr. Woland’s blood sample to Howell Corp for a

DNA test, and she is now at Royale with others,” Caleb immediately reported to Ethan after he was

ascertained with the information he retrieved.

“Who is with her in Royale?” Ethan’s eyes flickered faintly, and he suddenly remembered the incident

where Alice praised the person on the other end of the phone for being the best while on the phone in

the hotel.

“Lydia Howell from Howell Corp, and Cecilia Hall, the eldest heiress of Hall Electronics. They are

Young Madam Knight’s best friends.” Caleb truthfully reported the information he obtained without

knowing what was currently in Ethan’s mind.

Not even Ethan himself realized that he had breathed a sigh of relief after hearing Caleb’s words.

Nonetheless, Ethan headed to Royale the moment he ended the call.
