Chapter 9

Epilogue

Tackled By Love

No One's POV

It is nearing the end of the season. The Bills have had a good record so far. It is one of their last home games of the season here in Orchard Park.

There is just under two minutes left in the game. The Bills just had the ball returned to them. They have two minutes to get all the way down the field, and score. It is 42-46. They need a touchdown to win.

Coach McDermott calls a timeout, and yells, "Allen and the offense, keep your head in the game."

It has been a good couple of weeks for Cook and Shakir on the field. They both work really well with Allen. They have both been playing for the large majority of the game.

The offense keeps getting first down after first down. They are taking their time as there is still two minutes, but not going too slow.

They make it to the 15 yard line. Allen calls them into a huddle, "Shakir, run wide, I am going to throw the ball to you."

The play starts, Shakir runs wide, and is not careful and gets tackled. Allen sees this but responds quickly, he yells out, "Cook". He hands the ball off to Cook. Cook runs dodging players for the remaining 15 yards of the field. He jumps over the arms of a player trying to tackle him, right into the endzone. The clock runs out. Just in time, Cook has scored the winning touchdown of the game.

Afterwards, the team decides to hold an after party to celebrate their win! Mack knows just the guy to call, Jannock Swag, the king of hosting parties. He's also really into football...which explains why he invited so many football players to his last party. The whole team helps Jannock prepare for the party, setting up decorations, catering food, and more. Eventually, it is time for the big event, and everyone starts filling in slowly. New and old faces appear simultaneously.

Cook and Shakir arrive at the after party a bit late, as they were having a sloppy makeout session in private prior to arrival. Jannock Swag is there, hosting the party, and is glad to see Cook and Shakir arrive together. He reminisces on the first time they came to one of his parties together, which wasn't that long ago actually, but let Jannock have his moment.

Everyone that they met at the pool party was there, well, almost everyone. Jannock informs that Alberto Reuben was blacklisted from any stadium in the entire USA, which was kind of impressive, Shakir notes. Freaky Brad was in jail for 88 years, and no one was willing to pay for his bail. Rightfully so.

Cook spots Mack and Jase Headman in the corner talking to each other. They are barefoot, like usual. Cook smiles proudly at Mack, who notices him and smiles back. It looks like they're getting along!

"Hey Mack," Cook walks up to the both of them, "How's it going?"

"It's great. Jase and I were just talking about being barefoot," Mack replies, "And...I think he wants to get a cybertruck."

Jase nods in agreement.

"You'd have to ask Khalil about that," Cook laughs, "Though...I think his cybertruck is still being repaired..."

"Oh, really? What happened to it?" Jase asks worriedly.

"Er...he said it kinda malfunctioned in the Buffalo snow," Cook explains, "So maybe you'd wanna refrain from getting one..."

Jase frowns, "Aw man, I seriously wanted one."

"You could always just get a Tesla," Mack suggests, "They're pretty similar, right? And, they honestly look a lot nicer..."

As the two discussed what car Jase should buy, Cook walked away and headed to see where Shakir was.

Meanwhile, Shakir is milling around the party by himself as well. He's peacefully walking when he notices the blue cube thing-no, Chip, from last time. When Chip sees him, it growls at him from where it is sitting. Shakir is a bit confused and upset by this. Was that blue cube still mad at him for being a Verizon user? Maybe Shakir should try Cricket Wireless for once...

"Hey, sorry..." Shakir says awkwardly, moving away from Chip.

In response, Chip crosses its arms and just glares at Shakir. Man, that thing held a worse grudge than Mack did.

Cook and Shakir eventually meet up with each other again, just in time to see the two police officers from last time. Jannock notices them too, and walks over to them.

"Hey, what gives? Were there noise complaints or something?" Jannock asks, concerned why the police are here.

"Nah. We quit being officers," Lunar explains, "Draco and I just wanted some food. We smelt it as we passed by."

"Aren't your parties basically free invite anyways?" Draco frowns.

Jannock sighs, "Yeah, well, they are..."

"Wait, what do you guys even do now?" Shakir suddenly questions. The two of them are surprised to see Shakir again.

"Uh, well...actually...it's a long story," Lunar answers.

"Oh, it's you again," Draco deadpans, "And...I assume your boyfriend."

"Wow, he's sharp," Cook whispers, "He kinda scares me."

Shakir sighs, recalling the conversation he had with the police officers from last time, "He's...kinda always like this I guess."

"More importantly, does anyone know where the food is?" Draco asks, looking around.

The pink haired girl with cat ears appears again, much to everyone's surprise. She's carrying cupcakes, this time in red, white, and blue, the Bills' colors. She offers one to everyone.

"Kawaii-chan has the food right here!" She announces.

"Cupcakes..." Lunar notes quietly.

Shakir happily takes one, and shares it with Cook. The two former police officers also take one, along with Jannock. Kawaii-chan then proceeds to walk around the rest of the venue, handing out her cupcakes.

The music noticeably starts to change. The DJ there starts fading out the music, and a new song replaced it. The music that started playing was "Can't Stop the Feeling" by that one guy who was pulled over for driving unsafely.

Feeling the music, Shakir wanted to dance, and Cook couldn't say no to him, so they both decided to dance. They met up with Jase and Mack, along with everyone else.

"Man, I'm really feeling this music," Shakir says.

"Yeah, this is my jam!" Cook exclaims excitedly.

"Jam? Where?" Jase asks, confused.

Mack shakes his head and laughs, "No, Jase. There's no jam."

"Classic Jase, never change." Cook chuckles.

They all start to dance together on the dance floor, united as one, under the masterpiece known as Can't Stop the Feeling from that trolls movie. Even Freaky Brad can feel the vibes and is dancing in his jail cell. For the first time, everyone is finally happy.

As Shakir and Cook dance, they stare at one another, realizing for the first time, this is what they've wanted all along. They graciously embrace one another. Cheers from the crowd around them drown out the music in the background.

Mack and Jase look at the precious couple with content expressions, hoping one day that maybe they'll be as close as they are one day. The two former police officers and the pink cat girl watch as they eat the rest of the cupcakes. As bitter as it is, Chip nods in approval. Josh Allen is the only one shocked by their relationship. He had not been paying any attention to them beforehand for some reason. Coach Lark Marx watches from the shadows, proud of how far Shakir and the rest of his friends had come.

And so, the two of them lived happily ever after. Together.
