Chapter 85
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
Vicky shot Gina a glare of disgust. âShut up. I donât need you to tell me what to do.â
âUrghâ¦â Gina was promptly cowed by her outburst. âYâYes, youâre right, Ms. Turnbull.â
Meanwhile, Trevor and his men surrounded and wiped out Finnâs henchmen with minimum effort, and he was just coming out of the fire escape when he ran into Vicky.
âOh, youâre here too, Ms. Turnbull?â Trevor exclaimed in surprise, before adding politely, âActually, Mr.
Lawrence didnât want to involve you with this one.â
âMr. Zurich, you can dispense with the niceties,â Vicky replied bluntly. âWhy wouldnât I help when Frank is involved?â
As she spoke, she slid a peek at the bodyguard standing behind Trevorâbeing a martial artist herself, she knew a thing or two about identifying martial elites.
Given his bulky frame and withheld presence, it was obvious that he was strongâperhaps even stronger than Cliff.
And a martial elite of such caliber was loyal to Trevor, whereas Trevor was loyal to Frankâ¦
Unable to hide her curiosity, Vicky asked, âWhatâs your connection to Frank, Mr. Zurich?â
Trevor was taken aback, but he soon chuckled. âWhy ask that out of the blue, Ms. Turnbull?â
Vicky shrugged. âYou were once the owner of a transnational conglomerate, and yet here you are going all out for Frank, who supposedly has nothing to his name. Even a father would not go that far to his son, and from where Iâm standing, you didnât really start partnering with Lane Holdings. because of Helenâs talent, did you? It was all Frankâs idea.â
âClever girl.â Trevor smiled, He was uncertain as to how much she had found out, but he told her regardless, âStill, Iâm afraid I canât tell you about my relationship with Mr. Lawrence. However, you may know this muchâif he demands my life, Iâd happily sacrifice myself without blinking.â
Vicky was left astoundedâshe had guessed that Frank had saved Trevorâs life somehow, just as Frank had saved her.
But this⦠this was more than that! One would have to wonder if Frank was Trevorâs dad in another life.
That explained Frankâs confidence even in the face of the Lionheartsâhe had powerful backing himself!
Trevor simply turned just then. âIâll go check on Ms. Lane now.
He could laugh to himself right thereâVicky might not be aware, but there were plenty of others who owed Frank their lives.
Still, he calmed down just as he arrived at Vickyâs car to find the Lanes alive and well.
âMâMr. Zurich?!â Gina almost burst into tears in excitement when she saw him.
âMâMr. Zurichâ¦â
Helen slowly looked up as well, having grown to respect Trevor greatly since they were partnered for three years.
âWhat⦠Ms. Lane, what happened to your face?â Trevor was stunned when he saw how Helen looked.
Helen promptly lowered her head in silence, while Gina wiped her tears as she sobbed, âOh, Mr.
Zurich! You have to avenge Helen! Finn Chandler disfigured her.â
âHe will get his just deserts.â Trevor was actually incensedâhaving experienced himself, he was certainly aware how Frank felt toward Helen.
Having his beloved woman disfiguredâwould the man really take this insult lying down?
âThank you so much for today, Mr. Zurich,â Gina said just then.
Trevor ignored her and instead told Helen solemnly, âDonât worry, Ms. Lane. Finn Chandler will pay for what he didâheâs a dead man walking.â
âOf course. We believe you, Mr. Zurich,â Gina nodded enthusiastically. âSo, about your partnership with Lane Holdingsâ¦â
Trevor rolled his eyes at her. âThat can wait. You should be taking care of your daughter.â âYâYes, of course.â Gina nodded repeatedly and watched as Trevor hurried away.
