Chapter 25

The Serpent 🐍 S. Stilinski

Needs.

Everyone has needs and everyone has wants.

For instance, a child wants a candy. They don't actually need the candy.

Deucalion wants Scott McCall, but in his mind he believes he needs him.

Peter Hale wants power and he knows he needs it, at least in his own twisted mind.

Deaton needs everyone safe more than he wants.

Scott McCall believes he needs to work along side Deucalion.

Allison Argent wants to help protect her friends and needs to find her dad.

Stiles Stilinski needs to find his dad and wants to figure out his confused feelings.

Sweet Pea wants to leave this God forsaken town but needs to realize leaving this town is not an option.

Jennifer believes she needs the power when in reality it's really a want.

What is your needs? What is your wants?

Do you really need that? Or do you just really want it?

People around the world have the line blurred about what's their wants and needs are.

In the supernatural world, every creature fights for one of two reasons:

One, they fight to keep their ones safe.

Two, they fight for the crown.

Call it primal instinct or stupidity, but the fight for the crown is a bloody fight and always ends with one or the other dead.

This time, the crown is not an object or a title, but merely in a figment of power.

Whoever has the most power owns the crown and this time the battlefield is in little ol' Beacon Hills. This time the battle does not have two sides but three:

One, fighting to keep everyone alive.

Two, fighting to right what was wronged.

Three, fighting to make sure they are still in power.

Who reign supreme?

Who is at an disadvantage when each and every one of them has something up their sleeves?

Who will lose and who will wear the crown?

•••

"You have to go we're losing time." Deaton spoke that broke the heavy silence. Reluctantly, each of them left one by one. Stiles being the last to leave, an empty void in his chest as the realization of Sweet Pea never coming back.

He would no longer hear his rude snide comments or smell the young gangster's scent.

"N-no! You can't die on me!" Stiles stutters as he unzipped Sweet Pea's jacket and began CPR. Allison sobs as she tightened her hold on Issac, tears fully streaming down her face.

Lydia had tears in hers but they never fell, Ethan looked down at the lifeless corpse, guilt running through his veins. Issac felt numb, he grew fond of the kid even if he was slightly intimated by him. The thought of him dying seemed unrealistic, he seemed so... invincible. Scott on the other hand felt more than just guilt, this kid was innocent in all this and yet he was the one to suffer the cost. He wanted --no needed to keep everyone alive and safe and yet he failed that as well.

After the heart compression Stiles took no hesitation to place his mouth over Sweet Pea's following the CPR regime.

One, two, three

Blow air into his lungs.

One, two, three

Blow air into his lungs.

One, two, thre- "Stiles... Enough, he's gone." Deaton spoke as he pulled the boy off the body. Stiles fought the adult as he continues his futile attempts of CPR.

Tears streaming down his face, his nose running as he he lets out whispered pleas of hope.

"Come on... Come on"

With one last blow into the boys mouth did reality hit the brown eyes teen. Sweet Pea was gone, for good.

"The first time I was ever to place my lips on yours... you're supposed to be conscious. Yo-you asshole." Stiles whispers harshly he felt anger about Sweet Pea dying.

Deaton looks to the body, his hope of the child to come back to life diminished by the second.

It was his third death; his final death.

•••

Emmett walked into the vet clinic memories flooding his mind, pushing them away he looks to see Deaton with arms crossed. Judging by his facial expression, his gut feeling wasn't wrong.

The kid had past.

"Where is he?" Emmett asked as Deaton motions to the back. Walking to the back he saw three tubs of water with little to none ice. The wet floor and no body.

"He was here, after the kids had left he was still here." Deaton spoke as he looked around the room.

Emmett knew only one way a body would go missing, Julia. "I don-"

"It's okay Deaton. I'll find the body." Emmett waves off as he turns around and leaves before another word was said.

Where would Julia trust most? Where would you hide your most precious weapon?

He knew it wouldn't be at the distillery but where else would there be?

It can't be where the Nemeton was, otherwise the young teens would've found him. Not the hospital too many people and someone could find it.

The woods?

No, too obvious and Julia was never to be obvious.

The school? Maybe.

Then it hit him, the mansion in the woods.

•••

Every town has one: the spooky house that all the kids avoid. Beacon Hills was Myrtlewood, The Myrtle's family mansion, with its very own graveyard.

The story, the legend:

Warren Myrtle was only 15 when he was brutally murdered.

He and his twin sister, Elizabeth Myrtle were set to inherit the family distillery (before it was shut down). When the incident took place people below in the town heard a woman wailing or in other words, screaming.

Elizabeth would look worse and worse as the days past. She would claim to hear the voice of her brother and other voices that tried to telling her something. Soon after, all she did was wail and cry.

She was then referred as Moaning Myrtle.

She later killed herself in her brothers room with a note:

I can't take it anymore, the voices got louder.

The infamous Moaning Myrtle was a Banshee, but she never knew it.

After the death of their two kids, the Myrtle's declared bankruptcy and left Beacon Hills, all took place less than a year.

Since then, Myrtlewood Mansion was considered the spooky house of Beacon Hills.

But to the supernatural world, that house was one of the few with the power cord. The death of --not one-- but two Banshees in the same place had a higher power source, especially if it dealt with death.

So why wouldn't a Darach take advantage of the hidden power gem?

Answer would be: nothing would stop a Darach from getting what they want, even if it meant messing with the natural order of death itself.

•••

"Take a good look at me." Jennifer spoke as she smirks at the female Alpha. The one she was once close to.

The Darach didn't miss the absence of a certain brother that laid loyal to a fault. "Where's your brother? Finally came to his senses and realized what a mess you are?" Jennifer taunts, she couldn't help it.

She was running high from power; not only from a life energy but as well as death's.

And boy did she feel the power!

Kali looked into the eyes of a smug bitch. Her hurt had switched to anger. All the feelings she bottled up since Emmett had left came out in waves.

She knew it.

Jennifer knew it.

And she knew, Jennifer knew and it made it more unbearable.

Julia was the reason she lost her loyalty from her brother. If she had just died like she was supposed to, Emmett still would be beside her. And who knows maybe Ennis would be too.

It was all her fault.

She was the reason she lost everything.

"I should've..." Kali began, her temper getting the best of her once again.

Julia or Jennifer, lifted the shards of glass in the air with the power that courses through her veins. Slowly each shards of glass pointed to the female Alpha.

"I should've RIPPED YOUR HEAD OFF!" Kali roars just as Jennifer screams and all the glass shards shot themselves into the Alpha, killing her.

Just as the body hit the floor did Jennifer feel a sense of accomplishment. It wasn't fully satisfactory enough for her though. She wanted Emmett there and witness first hand as she killed his precious sister.

Once he witnessed the kill, Jennifer imagined and hoped he would feel the same hurt, the same pain she felt when she watched him stand by as Kali nearly killed her.

If only.

•••

Emmett heard the scream, the scream of a Banshee. Deaton had told him about a certain redhead girl named Lydia.

Lydia was a Banshee and she just let out a loud shriek that can be heard not only by the supernatural. He was tempted to follow the scream and help but he forced himself to continue his journey.

Surely, his current mission would be more helpful than to follow the scream of a teenage girl.

Myrtlewood Mansion, old and abandoned. Far enough away to ensure privacy but close enough to keep an eye on.

Climbing the fence and walking inside Emmett caught the smell of fire and blood. Following the stench did he find the body he was looking for and something more.

He has seen this before, but where? Right in the middle with something carved into his forehead was the body of Sweet Pea and a bloodshed snake.

This was a sacrificing ritual, mainly done for witches, so why was Julia using this dark magic?

Emmett tries to enter the circle but he couldn't pass. It was like Mountain Ash keeping him out. He bent down and saw nothing related to Mountain Ash.

So what was keeping him out?

•••

The battle has commenced and the fight for the crown began.

Scott stood by worried as he watch Derek run towards Deucalion. The latter fully wolfed out into something Scott never seen.

It was an all out battle of dominance between werewolves and a Darach. It was a fifty-fifty chance on who would win, but with the time approaching the Lunar Eclipse it was sure to go on the Darach's side.

•••

"Lydia. Lydia!" Cora yells as the strawberry blonde walks out of the clinic, almost in a trance.

Cora goes to follow but Deaton stops her, "I need you here." Cora sighs as she looked to the door Lydia left in to the twins on the operating table. Nodding curtly, she goes to help Deaton insert a shot in their veins.

•••

"Lydia?" Emmett spoke as he walked out of the abandoned mansion and seeing the redhead teen getting out of her car looking lost.

"I-I don't. I don't whe- who are you?" She asked fearfully. When she was aware of her surroundings she realized she was at Myrtlewood Mansion and the thought alone scared her. Now there was this guy calling to her and she didn't know him.

Emmett raised his hands cautiously, "Emmett. I'm a friend of Deaton. I need your help. I'm not going to hurt you, but" he paused as he looked to the full moon. It was almost time for the Lunar Eclipse.

"But we don't have much time, I need your help." Lydia gulps, against her better judgement she nods.

Something brought her here, just like the other bodies she found, she was here for a reason.

But what?

Walking into the house, Lydia could sense death, she was practically inhaling the scent.

Following the Alpha she walked around dirty debris and old furniture. She lets out a sob as she covers her mouth when she spotted the body and the whole scene in front of her.

She saw candles, white powder put in a pentagram, blood sprayed and splattered everywhere, a dead snake that was cut down the body, and Sweet Pea who was grey and had dark veins over his body and mark carved into his head.

"Oh my God!" She cries as she had tears in her eyes and her throat tightened. Emmett knew the sight freaked the teen out of her wits.

But he needed her, he just got off the phone with Morell and she told him he needed something to interfere with the boundary spell.

Blood.

He needed blood from a witch or a Banshee.

Right now, to stop this ritual that was giving Julia power he needed Lydia's blood.

•••

"Become the Alpha you're meant to be." Deucalion spoke as Scott looked to his struggling teacher and the demon wolf.

He came to the realization of Deucalion's plan all along. It wasn't to help Scott in any way but a trap to lure in Scott.

And it worked.

All Deucalion wanted was Scott to kill, but Scott wasn't having it. He wouldn't kill, not because he needed to, but because he wanted to.

He knew it was wrong, he saw the horrors of death more than he wanted. He couldn't bring himself to end a life, innocent or not.

He wouldn't kill.

"... Deucalion isn't always blind." Scott grunts as he threw down the flare and closed his eyes.

Deucalion and Derek cover their eyes but they were momentarily blind from the flare.

Just as Scott opened his eyes, he was human and everything felt different, like before he was bit.

He felt... human.

He looked through the old windows of the distillery and saw the moon.

Times up.

The Lunar Eclipse began.

The wolves look to where Jennifer was and she was gone.

Seconds later she reemerges from the dust outside in her true form. Her scarred face showing as you can sense the anger.

•••

"I have to what?" Lydia asked the older man, Emmett sighs as he looks to the frightened teen. She seems to calm down but after explaining what he needed she started to freak out a little more.

Emmett didn't have time to console the redhead, he need to do this now before Scott or anyone else got hurt from the wrath of Julia.

"I'm truly sorry, but we don't have the time for your emotions." Emmett spoke as he quickly grabs the girls wrist as Lydia gasps as she tries to pull away.

Thinking worse of the worse.

This was it, this was where she dies. She'll be left for dead in Myrtlewood Mansion. No one would find her here.

"No! Help! Please!" She yells as she tries to pull away as she feels the nails of Emmett cutting her skin. "Hel-" she stops suddenly when she felt the drip off wrist where he made a deep scratch with his nails.

Emmett pulls the girl to where the white powder laid and made a fist with her hand, squeezing the blood out.

Where the blood droplets made a red stain smoke and a small hissing sound was made. Until the blood nearly covers a whole part of the line, breaking the boundary spell.

Pulling her arm from the man, Lydia holds it to her chest. Her other hand covering the deep claw marks to stop the bleeding.

Waiting a few seconds, Emmett tore a small piece of his shirt and holds it out for the girl to grab it.

Lydia looks to the torn material and the man who held it, hesitantly she grabs the fabric and uses it to cover the fresh wound.

Emmett cautiously steps over the circle of white powder and then the other foot. He made it.

Sighing in relief he rushes to the body as he looks to the mark and the boy itself. Wrapping one arm of the boy around his neck, he lifts the boy and carries him out of the circle instantly breaking the bond between Sweet Pea and Julia.

Right as Scott pushes past the Mountain Ash that protected Jennifer, the said women falls to the floor gasping in pain.

The energy she was once thriving off of was gone. She couldn't feel Sweet Pea's life energy anymore, leaving her powerless. Gasping as the sudden lost of power but also to the impossible sight in from of her.

Scott had become the True Alpha.
