Chapter 18

Last Night Was...

The Morretti Brothers

Luca woke to find that the spot next to him in bed was empty. His eyes adjusted to the light as he looked around for Eddison. ~His~ Eddison. Luca sighed, reliving the previous night’s events.

He had been gentle, considering it was her first time, but when they went for rounds two and three, it appeared she liked it rough.

The smell of bacon filled the room, and he smiled. When he reached the kitchen, he saw Eddie in nothing but one of his T-shirts and her panties.

It wasn’t a new sight; she would often go around the apartment like that, but it made Luca smile to know that last night the sexy body beneath those clothes had been in ~his~ bed.

Luca approached Eddie from behind and wrapped his arms around her waist. Eddie squealed as she was lifted off the floor. Luca kissed the back of her neck, and a small moan escaped her lips.

“Morning,” he murmured against her skin as he placed her back on her feet. Eddie spun in his arms and placed a kiss on her nose.

“Morning.”

“When I couldn’t find you, I thought maybe—”

“Just hungry,” Eddie cut him off. “I felt like bacon and eggs, is that okay?”

“Perfect. How do you feel?”

“A little sore,” Eddie said, spinning back to the food. She looked back over her shoulder at Luca. “But totally worth it.”

“Last night was—”

“Perfect,” Eddie cut him off again, and Luca smacked her ass.

***

It was one in the afternoon and the two were lying on the couch, scrolling through Netflix. Eddie’s tiny form sat between Luca’s legs, leaning back on his chest as she used the remote to find something worth watching.

Luca traced circles on her thigh, causing her to shiver. There was a knock at the front door, and Luca’s hand froze.

“EDDIE!” Parker’s voice traveled through the door.

Eddie’s body tensed, and Luca lifted her off his lap. He placed her on the couch and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

“I’ll deal with him, cara.”

Eddie hugged her knees as Luca stalked to the door. Luciano threw the door open, revealing a disheveled-looking Parker. Parker’s eyes searched the townhouse and fell on Eddie.

“Ed—”

“No! You talk to me!” Luca said sternly, holding Parker back with his hand. Luca had the height advantage on Parker and glared at him.

“This has nothing to do with you!”

“If it concerns Eddison, then it concerns me!” Luca’s voice was loud. Eddie looked up at Parker from the couch.

“Parker, you need to go,” Eddie said softly.

“But Eddie—”

“She told you to leave! If you so much as look in her direction, I will—”

“You can’t just—”

“Eddison is mine!” Luca shouted in Parker’s face. Eddie was a little turned on by his possessiveness.

“Y-Yours…?” Realization hit Parker, and he backed out of the doorway toward his car.

Luca slammed the door and walked back to the couch. He lifted Eddie up and, sitting down, placed her back between his legs as though nothing happened.

“Did you mean it?” Eddie asked him softly, leaning back into his chest.

“Every word,” Luca replied honestly, placing a kiss on her shoulder.

“Luciano, you need to calm down!” Marc tried to calm his brother. “Ed, please! Tell him to calm down.”

“Calm down? How the hell can I calm down? They are going to know the second they walk in! Ma will know! She is like magic! I—”

“Luca!” Eddie shouted over a rambling Luca. She walked to his side, taking his large hands in her small ones. “Why can’t we tell them?”

“Y-you…? You w-want t-to?”

“Why not?” Eddie asked with a shrug. “Unless…”

“No. Not that. I just… I just want to savor having you to myself. I have only had you seven days—”

“Have you been counting?” Eddie smirked at him.

“I love you, Eddison Jenkins,” Luca said quietly. The two stared at each other before they were rudely interrupted by Luca’s older brother.

“Okay, lovebirds! You guys are disgusting! Ma and Pa will be here in twenty minutes, and Eddie, not that I don’t love it, but you are half naked.”

Eddie looked down at her attire of Luca’s T-shirt and a pair of panties.

Before Marc arrived announcing that his parents were on their way, Luca and Eddie had been ~thoroughly~ enjoying each other’s company.

Marc’s eyes lingered on Eddie, and she felt herself blush. Luca put a possessive arm around her waist, pulling her behind him.

“Fratello, attento,” (Careful, brother) Luca growled in warning, and Marc raised his hands in surrender.

“Hey, can you blame me?”

Eddie giggled at Marc’s words before running off to her room. Once she shut the door, Marc turned back to his brother.

“About time.”

“I know,” Luca said with a small shrug.

Luca tidied up around the lounge, mainly throwing anything that was lying around onto his bed. Marc lounged on the couch, not bothered that his parents were arriving soon. After all, it wasn’t his house.

Marc hadn’t told Luca the truth about the family visit. It was to announce that Marc was taking over the family business. ~All~ of the family business.

To the world, Dante Moretti was the CEO of a large company, but to those in the know, he was also an Italian don, leader of the New York Italian Mafia.

The family had kept it hidden from Eddie, but Luca knew that their being together meant it was about time she knew the truth.

Eddie strolled out of her bedroom in skinny jeans and a tight-fitted tee. Luca couldn’t help but stare at her snug clothes.

“Cara, you are killing me,” he said softly in her ear. He wrapped his arms around her, breathing in her scent. It was slightly erotic just how good she smelled.

When there was a knock at the door, Luca dropped his arms from around Eddison. Marc laughed, heading to the door.

“Ready, lovers?”
