chapter 40

Before I could think anything, I listened one sound from outside "mom", It was Aarav when we went out Aarav said "mom what are you doing!" I asked "do you need anything?". He said "mom you forgot to give us snacks". I said "oh I'm sorry, you go I will be there in five minutes". He said "ok". Then he left and I went in to the kitchen and prepared tea for Aditya and some snacks for them. When I went inside the room they were playing games. I said "here is your snacks"  I put tray on the table and I gave tea cup to Aditya but he ignored me. So I put that beside him and didn't say anything. Then he took the cup himself and had a sip. His expression was like those days when I used to prepare tea for him, he got cheerful and unintentionally said " this is wonderful, it tastes the same as before" saying this suddenly he stopped. Aarav said "do you guys know eachother before?" . Aditya smiled and said "yes". Adwiti asked "uncle are you a good friend of mom?". Aditya looked towards me and said "no, not a good friend we were more than that". Then Aarav and Adwiti got more excited and said "really! Then what is it more than good friends mean uncle?". Aditya constantly looking towards me and this question make me uncomfortable so I said "it's mean close friends" . Listening this Aditya got shocked for the first time in six year I mentioned that we were close, so it must be the reason of his shocking expression. Before kids could question anything else I changed subject of talking and said " don't play the whole time, do your homeworks and let uncle to rest for sometime". I didn't know what I was saying that was the first time I was talking nice to him and about him,  may be it was a sign that I decided to tell him everything. After this I left that room and Aditya followed me when we were at a far distance from kids room I heard  his voice from my back "is it real?". I turned towards him and asked "what do you mean?" . He said "I mean this is the first time you are talking to me nicely. Did you feel regret for saying it last night that, you don't want to see my face?" I knew it he couldn't accept it easily, I said "do you want me to talk like before?". He smiled and said "do you know one thing!  you didn't changed in 6 years". I said "yes I didn't,because I'm still there when I was before". Yes it was true that I was same as before because I never able to forget him and after six years also my feelings were same for him. Then how could I seem different to him. He looked confused and he asked "what is this mean?" I didn't say anything and tried to left but he stopped me and said "answer me, what is this mean ...that you are still there?". Before I could say anything Adwiti came and said "uncle let's go and play in garden". I said "no, this time there will be more vehicles out". Adwiti said "mom please, uncle is with us and  I promise I will not run here and there". Aditya said "let them, i will be there to take care". And finally I agreed and they went out to play and I got busy in cooking. After a half an hour I heard a voice of shouting and I hurriedly went out to look. When I got there I saw a car got in to an accident and infront of that car  Aditya was holding someone in his arms and shouting in tension saying  "call the ambulance...wake up Adwiti, please wake up". When I listened the name Adwiti and saw Adwiti in his arms and she was bleeding my eyes got bigger suddenly I felt that sky was falling on me. It was an accident of Adwiti.
