Chapter 981 l’m Embarrased Too!

Elisa stilled and turned to him slowly.

Realizing that he had a chance, Norman breathed a sigh of relief. “Let’s go have a meal together. It’s just a simple meal. I’m not going to hurt you.”

Rachel glanced at Elisa worriedly. Sensing that Elisa was tempted, she smiled, “What a coincidence! I’m hungry too. Can I tag along too?”

Charli smiled widely. “Me too! I’m starving. Can I come too?”

Norman’s expression soured. He wanted to have a private conversation with Elisa.

He was about to turn them down when someone interrupted him.

“You’re all right. I haven’t had anything to eat all day. Mr. Benett, you wouldn’t mind another person coming, would you?” The man’s voice was low and gravelly. His teasing tone caught Norman off guard.

He had no problem rejecting Charli and Rachel.

But... He couldn’t treat this man the same way. There was noway Norman could refuse him.

Norman smiled tightly. “What a rare occasion to see you, Mr. Shane.”

Rachel looked at him suspiciously. Why had he come?

Unless...

Rachel stared hard at him. IVos Gareth suddenly concerned with Elisa? Had he tasked Vincent, his close friend, in looking after Elisa for him?

It was a possibility.

Rachel couldn’t be bothered with it any longer. He hated being around Vincent, but if it meant keeping Elisa safe, she could set her personal feelings aside. Norman and his family were capable of more evil than they could imagine. Having a man with them was a good idea.

Vincent arched an eyebrow. He nodded, not waiting for Norman to respond, “Let’s go. I’ll follow in my car. See you at the restaurant.”

Norman, His smile was strained beyond belief.

He nodded even though he felt repulsed. “Okay. I’ll see you there.”

He turned back to Elisa, “I’ve sent you the location. Just head over.”

Elisa spun on her heel and headed to the basement car park without bothering to respond.

Rachel and Charli were by her side. Before Rachel could take a step, some had grabbed her arm.

Rachel turned to see Vincent glowering at her. Her eye started to twitch, but she feigned nonchalance and glared at him. “What are you doing? Holding onto me in public! You might not be embarrassed, but I am!”

Rachel tried her best to pull her arm free.

Vincent was not letting her go that easily. “You get embarrassed? That’s news to me.”

His smile did not meet his eyes. There was a double entendre to his words.

Rachel immediately became angry. “Stop talking out of you’re a**! Of course, I get embarrassed! I am a woman! Damn you!”

Vincent snorted. He refused to let go of her. “Tell me the truth right now. What happened? Who was that person you’re talking about? Who is that person you have such low regard for?”

She had pretty much spelled it out. Couldn’t this idiot understand? Did he want her to lie to him?

Elisa and Charli heard their exchange but did not turn back. No one could help what was going on between them.
