No Chance Of Remarriage: Get Lost Chapter 24
Honey We Are Not Getting Remarried: Get Away From Me!
Chapter 24 Itâs All in The Past Now Vincent couldnât bear the shame of losing that match. How could he lose to a woman with so many people watching!
âItâs just money! I have more than I need anyways!â He muttered.
Rachel snorted. âRemember this well! Sooner or later, itâll be mine!â Vincent declared.
âDream on!â Rachel spat.
Vincent stomped off in a huff.
Rachel was in a much better mood. She tugged onto Elisaâs hand, âLetâs go, dear!â
Elisa followed her without a word and they both hopped into the car. Rachel place both hands on the wheel and asked her, âShall we go eat? Do you need to make dinner for your husband tonight?â
Elisa hesitated before replying, âLetâs go out.â
Rachel was about to start the car when she froze in surprise, âReally?â She stared at Elisa.
Elisa nodded. Rachel stared at her with wide eyes. âAre you serious? Youâre not pulling my leg, are you? Every single time Iâve invited you out for dinner, youâve not been able to because you had to make dinner for your husband. You kept telling me how you wanted to stay at home and be a good wife. You couldnât stay out too late, nor could you stay over at mine. Whatâs with the sudden change?â
Elisa pursed her lips in annoyance.
She hated herself for wasting so much time on Gareth.
Rachel felt that something was off. âIsnât he treating you well?â She asked Elisa worriedly.
Elisa shook her head. âLetâs go to your place for dinner?â
Noticing that Elisa was trying to change the subject, Rachel grabbed her hand. âTell me the truth. What happened? Did you guys fight? How could he treat you like this?!â
Elisa chuckled. âWhen have we ever fought?â
How could they fight when they barely spoke to each other?
Rachel frowned, probably remembering the same. âWhatâs happened then?â She asked concerned.
âWeâre divorced.â
Rach is my best friend. I canât hide it from her.
âWhat?!â
Rachelâs hand tightened around the wheel. Her eyes practically bulging in shock. She would have leaped to her feet if the space allowed for it.
âThe divorce papers have been signed. Iâm just waiting for him to find the time to go get the actual certificate.â
Elisa was calm. She had thought that it would hurt to talk about it but... She was as unaffected as ever.
Rachel blinked. It looked like Elisa had finally given up.
Rachel stared at her in disbelief, âYou would have given your life for him! That was how much you loved him! Are you really divorced?â
Elisa was quiet. But her silence was an answer in itself.
Rachel believed her. She almost trembled with happiness. âGreat! Okay! Tonight we are going to celebrate! Weâll celebrate your newfound freedom!!â
Elisa smiled slightly, âShouldnât you be comforting me?
âElisa, let me tell you something. That man never deserved you! I tried to talk sense into you to divorce him ages ago! He might be the most eligible bachelor around town, but that doesnât mean that everyone is in love with him! You should have left him when you realised that he had zero feelings for you, instead of dragging things on!â Rachel spat.
Elisa blinked. Thatâs true... Rach had been trying to convince me to get a divorce for a long time.
She chuckled, âYouâre right! Thankfully, itâs all in the past now.â
âLetâs go! Hurry! Decide on somewhere quick! Iâll make a few calls to some of our friends! Tonight, we will celebrate!â
