Chapter 324
Changing Only For Her
Tristan naturally couldnât have asked for more.
Sophie stepped aside to allow him in and closed the door.
âItâs way past bedtime. Go take a shower and sleep.â Daylight would soon come if they waited any longer.
âOkay. You too.â
Sophie had offered to let Tristan stay the night simply because she figured that it would be far too late by the time he arrived home.
She had no other motive behind her decision.
The two went to shower separately. When Sophie had come out and was in the middle of drying her hair, Tristan walked into her room.
Her heart couldnât help but leap at the sight of him in her room.
Clad in nothing but a robe that wasnât even properly fastened, the man was the epitome of seduction.
Sophie paused in her tracks.
âWhy are you still awake? Is something the matter?â she asked dubiously.
Tristan took the hairdryer from her and began to help her dry her hair.
âI donât want to part with you yet.â
The woman didnât know what to say in response.
Never had she imagined this man to behave in such a way before she got to know him better.
Heâs just so charming. Oh, God. My heartâs racing.
âAre you aware that youâre seducing me, Mr. Tristan?â
Hearing that, Tristan curled his lips into a smirk.
âTell me, then. Are you tempted?â Was that not what mattered most?
âFine! I admit it. I mean, look at you! Thereâs no way anyone wouldnât be tempted, right?â Sophie remarked candidly. She had nothing to hide.
âHmm. So, I guess there is some advantage to looking as good as this.â
All this while, his looks had only brought him loads of trouble.
âYup. Youâre absolutely my type.â
Regardless of how good someone looked, it didnât matter if the person they liked didnât find them attractive. Thankfully, Tristanâs looks suited her taste perfectly; in her eyes, he was flawless all around and had absolutely no shortcomings.
âIâm glad.â
Sophieâs hair was dry by now, so Tristan put the hairdryer down. As the woman leaned against the wall behind her, he placed one hand on her waist and pressed the other against the wall.
He looked especially alluring when maintaining that posture.
Sophie remained silent as she gazed up at him, unaware of how captivating her eyes looked.
Tristan shifted his hand from the wall to hold the young womanâs chin before leaning in to kiss her lips.
While pinned against the wall, Sophie readily returned the deep kiss.
After a brief but passionate moment, the man let go of her face, picked her up, and pressed her against the wall once more. His breathing grew rapid.
âItâs late, Mr. Tristan. You should go to sleep.â Sophie finally found her voice again after a long while, but she was astonished by how lustful she sounded.
âI know. Let me hold you a little longer.â
He just didnât want to let go of her. It was as though time could stop for as long as he continued to hug her.
âBut itâs getting really late. Iâm tired.â The woman was truly exhausted from having spent the day eating and receiving so many gifts.
Hearing that, Tristan picked her up.
Sophie had long grown accustomed to his embrace, so she looped her arms around his neck without a second thought.
He then put her down on the bed gently and tucked her in.
âAll right. Since youâre tired, you should hurry up and get some rest.â
âHow can I fall asleep while youâre here? You should go to sleep too.â
âOkay.â
Tristan leaned closer and pecked her on the forehead before turning to leave.
Even after hearing the door shut, Sophie felt her heart continue to race.
She placed a hand over her chest.
Seriously! How is it so easy for him to make my heart race? But then again, how could I ever stay calm when Iâm dealing with a man like him?
âStay calm, Sophie!â The young woman patted her own cheeks in an attempt to calm herself down before glancing at her phone. It was already five in the morning, and the sun would be up soon.
A call from Arius came at that moment.
Sophie answered her phone.
âDo you have any idea what time it is here, Mr. Gullifer? Why are you calling me now?â
âYouâre so mean, Sophie. Iâm calling you because I remember your birthday!â Although the man was unable to return to the country, he still hadnât forgotten her birthday gift.
âHa. Sorry, but my birthday was yesterday.â
âThatâs not important! Itâs just a day later.â He was so busy that he had forgotten to call her yesterday.
âAnyway, Iâve mailed you your gift, so be sure to receive it when it reaches your doorstep.â
âWhat is it?â
Arius had always been like that. For the past few years, the man would always mail her some unusual things on her birthday.
âIt wouldnât be a surprise if I told you, would it? Anyway, why are you even still awake? What are you up to?â
After her birthday, she had officially become an adult.
âIâm just about to sleep.â
âWho were you just with? Was it Mr. Tristan?â
Arius couldnât remain calm at the mention of Tristan.
âLet me give you a reminder, Sophie. I get that youâre eighteen now, and that makes you a grown woman. But no matter what, youâre still young, so donât do anything you might regret.â He just couldnât trust Tristan, who excelled at flirting.
That guyâs just way too smooth. There isnât a woman on this earth who wouldnât fall for him.
âIf you have nothing else to say, Iâm hanging up. I need to get some sleep before the sun comes up.â
âRemember what I just said. Donât act like you didnât hear anything, you got me? Iâm saying this for your own good.â Seriously, she just canât stop making me worry.
âOkay, Iâm hanging up.â What a load of nonsense.
Sophie ended the call abruptly.
Arius was alone back in Anglandur.
There was nothing he could do no matter how concerned he was.
At the end of the day, Sophie was an independent person who had her own opinions. He could hardly make any decisions for her.
âPlease be happy, Sophie.â
It was only after uttering those words that Arius carried on with his research.
The man truly wanted the best for Sophie no matter what.
After all, if he had to choose between Nicholas and Tristan, he would still take the latterâs side.
Nicholas was an absolute deviant, after all.
Heâs been looking for me just so he could use me to threaten Sophie.
Ariusâ head hurt at the thought of how despicable Nicholas was.
He obviously canât give her happiness, so why does he still bother going after her? Does he really like her? When will he ever give up?
