Chapter 35.2
Absolute Advantage
âWhy are you calling?â
âHuh? Itâs about work.â
Sera glanced at Ellie sitting opposite and asked, and Ellie hurriedly put down her cell phone. She had just texted Haewon.
âI-itâs nothing.â
ââ¦â¦.â
Sera stared at the cell phone that was turned upside down so that the screen could not be seen, and turned her eyes away.
She didnât bother to inquire into Ellieâs awkward performance. She couldnât keep cleaning up her sisterâs mess.
On the other hand, Ellie smiled as if she thought she had deceived her sister.
âItâs nice to eat alone with you after a long time.â
Ellie said in a bubbly voice.
The Seo sisters had a slow breakfast at a hotel restaurant.
âYouâre right. You like pasta here.â
âHow do you know that?â
âThen canât you remember that your only sister cares for you?â
Sera asked back, pretending to be exaggerated.
Ellie died of joy at the sound of her sister. She just said the obvious thing, but whatâs so good about it? Sera still looked pitifully at her childlike sister.
Actually, she had one more younger sister.
No, Seo Hae-won was nothing.
A perfunctory younger sister whose mother just picked it up at will and put it on the family register. Although there were blood ties because it was the child of her late aunt, the word omega really felt like a stranger.
âSheâs going to live with us from today.ââ
Sera recalled memories of her childhood.
Next to her mother, who returned home after a month, was a scruffy lump. She thought she was around Ellieâs age, but she was two years older.
On top of that, she was quite surprised to hear that she will enter middle school soon. Hae-won was so small and ugly. And it evoked hostility rather than sympathy.
âWho is it?â
âHer daughter.â
ââ¦Auntâs daughter?â
âYes.â
The answering mother had sad eyes as if she were wet in the rain. My mother always looked like this when she put her eldest aunt on her lips.
Chairman Seo was not usually interested in his two daughters. In addition, she was a terrible workaholic, so she spent more time at work than at home.
She is a mother who stayed at a hotel near her company, not at home when she was resting. Chairman Seo began to go home when she picked up Hae-won.
An older sisterâs daughter.
The only blood that her sister left in this world.
Seo Haewon.
Sera knew how terrible her mother had always felt for her aunt, who died. No matter what people misunderstood, her mother loved her aunt.
So she was nervous. Seo Hae-won, the eldest auntâs daughter, might take her motherâs attention. Sheâs afraid she will be as horrible as her aunt.
The prediction was somewhat right.
Of course, her mother didnât come to Haewon because she was worried. Every time, she hurled terrible words at Haewon and left.
However, Sera, thirsty for her motherâs acknowledgment, was even jealous.
âDonât cry just because youâve heard something bitter. If I hadnât been interested in you, Iâd have let you live on that garbage floor for the rest of your life.â
Thatâs what her mother said.
Sera trembled when she thought of a 100-point test paper that filled her desk drawer in her room as a child even after she was over 30.
Itâs only natural for her to win first place. On the contrary, if any ranking fell, Seo Hae-won had to be kicked out by the wind of pajamas even in cold winter.
Everyone would be happy if her mother didnât expect such an inferior omega.
If it werenât for Seo Hae-won in the first placeâ¦â¦.
Her neck was hot. Sarah gulped down the water and she said with a calmer face, âSeo Ellie, stay quiet for a while.â
âAre you nagging me again?â
Ellie pouted her lips as she rummaged through the pasta. But she was unconsciously looking at her sister.
She was going to take part in Mr. Leeâs poker game soon. How was she supposed get the stakes? The thought of kneeling down to Adam made her stomach boil.
âMother is sensitive these days.â
Ellie stopped and blinked just before putting the rolled pasta in her mouth. Donât tell me, she didnât notice, did she?
âItâs Auntâs day soon.â
Ah.
Relieved, Ellie mumbled the pasta with her fork.
âMother gets sensitive to big auntieâs day, by the way.â
Ellie nodded obediently. But inside, she was thinking about something else.
Sheâll just play this poker game and rest for a while. Anyway, itâs okay if she doesnât get caught.
Ellie grinned as she made eye contact with Sera. Then, she secretly changed the subject.
âHey, whatâs that guy doing, Joo Adam?â
âWhatâs wrong with him?â
To make me want to eat itâs appetite Sarah clicked her tongue.
She lost her appetite. Sera clicked her tongue.
âNo~ Iâve heard about the JS Art Museum from all over the place these days. Foreign media are making a fuss about the exhibition. Donât you think heâs overdoing it?â
Ellie replied deftly. Sarahâs eyes narrowed.
âHe will soon be the son-in-law of a Seo-Hwa Group, so he must be immersed in his own world.â
âThatâs what Iâm saying!â
